Oz woman saves apartment building from going up in flames – topless!

Melbourne, May 11 (ANI): A woman from Darwin has been hailed as a heroine after she put her own safety and modesty aside to save an apartment building from going up in flames – topless.

Fitness instructor Tash Bennett was sunbaking by the pool of the Alatai Apartments in Darwin city on May 6 when a nearby palm tree caught fire.

“I was just lying there when some ash fell on top of me. I wasn”t really paying attention because I was listening to my iPod,” the Courier Mail quoted her as saying.

Bennett, who raced to reception for help before rushing back to the pool to use the fire hose, only realised that she was topless after she battled the blaze for five minutes and then looked down at herself.

“I was pretty red faced on the day, having to hold myself while running to reception. I was sunbaking. I wasn”t exactly prepared,” she explained.

“But you”ve got to put out the fire before you deal with that,” she stated.

After the blaze, Bennett resumed her sunbaking while she waited for the fire crew to arrive.

Her husband, Daniel McNamee said he was proud of his wife”s quick action in the emergency.

“Apparently the flame was pretty high. It could have taken out the building,” he said.

“She was just lying there thinking, ”it”s getting pretty hot here”.

“It was only after the fire was out that she looked down and realised that she was topless. At one stage she had quite an audience, just having a laugh,” he revealed.

One witness, Johnny McCoy said Bennett had a full audience of residents while she battled the blaze.

“For the record, she was smoking hot herself, but provided all the boys a pretty awesome sight for an otherwise typical Thursday,” he said.

“Once she had the blaze under control, she then got her bikini situation under control and put everything back where it should be,” he added. (ANI)

Macca recalls fond memories with Jacko

London, July 4 (ANI): Sir Paul McCartney has recalled his fond memories with Michael Jackson, insisting the late star’s “talent will never be forgotten”.

The former ‘Beatle’ spoke about the time when the duo recorded songs like Say, Say, Say together after the King of Pop called him in 1980, and asked: “Do you wanna make some hits?”

“That was the start of our adventure together. My memories are of his great sense of humour,” The Sun quoted him as saying on his website.

“We seemed to spend most of the time playing around and having a laugh. He became very friendly with my family and we had lots of great times.

“Although we drifted apart in later years, I will always remember fondly the fun we had working and playing together.

“My family and I send our deepest condolences to his family. We know that his great talent will never be forgotten,” he added. (ANI)

Swann to Aussies: Don’t waste your time sledging Mr. Cool Strauss

London, May 20 (ANI): England off-spinner Graeme Swann has told the Aussies they will be wasting their breath trying to sledge ice-cool England skipper Andrew Strauss.

“The Aussies are past masters at mind games, and there is no surprise they look to unsettle a captain – he’s the fulcrum of the team. But I can’t see it bothering Straussy one bit, he’s so relaxed it will be water off a duck’s back,” Swann told The Sun.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting fired the first shot in the pre-Ashes war-of-words yesterday, claiming his bowlers will target the left-hander this summer.

But Strauss has proved his mental strength since taking over the leadership in January, most recently guiding his troops to a 2-0 Npower series win over West Indies.

“As a team we’re enjoying our cricket at the moment. It was a surreal winter, with the bombs in India and the KP and Moorsey thing. But we have very English way of having a laugh and joke to stay upbeat and get past these things. And as a result, we’re starting to gel as a team that could be strong for many years to come,” Swann said.

“Straussy has been so important in creating that atmosphere and I’ve been very impressed by him. He leads from the front, but enjoys a laugh and puts our minds at ease,” Swann added.

The 30-year-old is producing the goods with both bat and ball, and cannot wait to take on old friends this summer.

He joked: “I’m enjoying my batting, and I’m gutted Ravi Bopara has come in and stolen the No 3 spot in the side.

“But facing Australia will be a dream this summer, and they have a few left-handers in their side which I always enjoy bowling against. I played with Mike Hussey when I was at Northants and I always claimed I’d face him in an Ashes Test some day – somehow I don’t think he believed me! (ANI)

Peter Andre once accused Rebecca Loos of having lesbian fling with Jordan

London, May 18 (ANI): Television personality Rebecca Loss has revealed that she was once accused by musician Peter Andre of having a lesbian frolic with his estranged wife Jordan.

Rebecca, who met the couple at a New Year party, said that Peter became “insanely jealous” when he thought Jordan enjoyed a lesbian encounter with Loos.

“I was at Andrew Wong’s Chinese New Year party in 2006 and I got chatting to Katie and Peter. They were really lovely. I remember Kate and I went to the toilet and did our make-up together. She was pissed and I was pissed. She was very pissed. We put our makeup and lipstick on,” the Daily Star quoted Rebecca as saying.

“Then we came out and started dancing together. It was all completely innocent. We were just having a laugh. The next thing I know is that Pete is convinced I made a pass at Kate in the bathroom. Nothing could be further from the truth. I’m not nearly as bad as people think I am,” Rebecca added.

However, at that time, Peter tried to defend himself by claiming that he thought Rebecca was taking advantage of Jordan.

“Kate was so smashed she didn’t have a clue what was going on. Rebecca kept asking her to go to the toilet because girls always go together. I had this horrible feeling she was taking advantage of Kate. It can’t take that long to powder your nose,” Peter said earlier.

Though Peter Andre accused Rebecca of having a lesbian fling with Jordan, she holds no grudges against him, and is actually upset by the couple’s separation.

“I would say Kate and Pete were a lovely couple. They always appeared really close. I’m sad to hear they have split up, especially as they have two young children,” Rebecca added. (ANI)

10,000 pounds in gold for videos of people performing naked

London, Feb 20 (ANI): The famous TV show ‘You’ve Been Framed’ has been paying people for funny videos for a long time, and now a new Internet competition has promised to do the same, but for the naked kind.

The competition set up by World Nude Day organisers has offered a payment of almost 10,000 pounds in gold for videos showing people doing their everyday antics minus their clothes.

The entries so far are of a gymnast, naked female footballers, stripped burger bar workers, starkers snowboarders, and a group of babes filming themselves flying an aeroplane naked.

Officials say that it’s all about having a laugh in your birthday suit, not making an X-rated clip.

“World Nude Day is about setting yourself free,” the Sun quoted the officials as saying.

“It’s about nude, not lewd. It’s about having fun with your clothes off,” they added.

The worldnudeday.com competition ends on March 31, and the top 10 global entries chosen by the official judges will then go into a final, which will go to a public vote. (ANI)
