Madonna’s daughter lands role in her new film

London, March 27 (ANI): Madonna is planning to give her daughter Lourdes a break in Hollywood by giving her a role in her new film, say sources.

The Material Girl’s new film is based on Edward VIII and it will go on the floor in the summers in London.

The Sun quoted a source as saying, “She has arranged a small role for Lourdes.”

“It”s not a significant part but it will give her a good taste of life in the movie business.

“Lourdes has made it clear she wants some kind of career in the entertainment industry and her mum is more than happy to help.

“She”s already an incredible dancer, thanks to years of classes and she”s also been having singing training.”

Madonna, who’s dating 22-year-old model Jesus Luz, had earlier refused Lourdes a.k.a. Lola to star in a Harry Potter film when she was offered a role in 2007. (ANI)

Potter may topple Bond as top-grossing movie franchise of all time

New York, July 15 (ANI): The ‘Harry Potter’ film series seems set to topple James Bond movies as top-grossing franchise in box office history.

The last five ‘Harry Potter’ films are said to have raked in a total of 4.48 dollars billion around the globe, while the James Bond movies stand at 5 billion dollars over the course of 22 films.

According to Variety.com, the ‘Harry Potter’ series is expected to overtake the British spy thrillers by the end of this month, after the latest film in the former series hits the theatres on July 15, reports the New York Daily News.

Rick Butler, the Chief Operating Officer of Fandango, said: “It’s our fastest ticket-seller since ‘The Dark Knight,’ and ‘Harry’ may eventually outpace Batman in advance ticket sales.” (ANI)

Emma Watson wants to live normal life

New York, July 12 (ANI): Harry Potter star Emma Watson has said that she wants to lead a normal life and get rid of the restrictions imposed on her due to her celebrity status.

“It must appear super-glamorous, and there are certainly moments like this week when it is glamorous. But 90 percent of the time it’s not so glamorous. Maybe it’s just like the grass is always greener. But normal things just sound so appealing right now. Just normal stuff,” the New York Daily News quoted her as saying at a press conference for ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.’

The actress also said that she managed to live a regular life whenever there is no buzz of a Harry Potter film.

She added: Normally, in the middle of the year, when there’s not a “Harry Potter” film being released, if I walk outside with no makeup on … I’m fine. I take the tube, I wait for buses. I live a normal life.

“I’m very uncompromising about that. There are people who are advising me, ‘It’s not safe, you shouldn’t be doing this.’… But I really struggle with the idea that I’m having my freedom taken away.

“I just can’t handle that. I’d much rather deal with a couple of people coming up to me and stopping me than just not going out anymore. I’d go insane – you just end up with a barrier between you and the real world. You’re not experiencing things firsthand. …You’re bubble-wrapped.”

Watson is also excited about joining a university soon for further studies.

She exclaimed: “I think university, the college experience, just sounds so great. I just don’t want to miss out on it. I think it’s a great time to make friends. I think it’s a great time to figure out who you are and what you like.” (ANI)

Rupert Grint eagerly awaits ‘Harry Potter’ franchise’s end

Washington, Jul 11 (ANI): Brit actor Rupert Grint has revealed that he is desperate for the Harry Potter film franchise to come to an end, so that he can have his own life back.

Grint, 20, has been acting in the eight movie series since he was 13 years old, and as the sixth movie is released around the world, he is ready to move on.

“Being in Harry Potter is like living in a bubble, and it slightly hinders your independence. You have got a lot of people doing stuff for you,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“So I guess that doesn’t help. I’ve never really had control over my hair. Warner Bros decide how my hair is going to be, and I can’t really change it,” he added. (ANI)

Emma Watson was nervous while kissing Rupert Grint in ‘Harry Potter’ film

New York, July 11 (ANI): Emma Watson has revealed that she was nervous while doing the highly anticipated kissing scene with Rupert Grint in the final ‘Harry Potter’ film.

“Rupert and I were quite nervous that it might look ingenuous as we were so desperate to get it over with. Rupert and I felt the pressure of this kiss, there’s so much interest,” the New York Daily quoted her as saying.

However, the actress maintained that the scene was important, and that she had to put her best effort to do it properly.

She said: “This is ten years worth of tension and hormones and chemistry and everything one moment. We had to ace it.”

Yet it was difficult for Watson, she added: “Kissing is awkward, kissing is always awkward.”

The scene between Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley takes place in the seventh and last book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” in J.K. Rowling’s popular series.

Meanwhile, Fandango.com poll claimed that 59 percent of fans would prefer a kissing scene between Hermione and Ron played by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, respectively.

While on the other hand, only 40 percent chose the kiss between Harry Potter played by Daniel Radcliffe and Ron’s sister Ginny Weasley, played by Bonnie Wright, which can be seen in new film ‘Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince.’

The film is scheduled for release on July 15. (ANI)

Daniel Radcliffe says kiss in latest Harry Potter film was ‘awful’

Washington, July 10 (ANI): Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has apologised to co-star Bonnie Wright for what he thinks was an “awful on-screen kiss” in the latest film in the series.

‘Harry Potter and the Half blood Prince’ premiered in the UK recently.

After seeing the film on the big screen, the 19-year-old actor said that he felt sorry for his onscreen love interest, Bonnie, because his kiss might have been a very unpleasant experience for her.

The actor said that the kiss had very little magic on the big screen.

“I saw the film at the London premiere and, my God, my lips are like the lips of a horse distending independently away from my face and trying to encompass the lower half of hers, and so I apologise, Bonnie,” Contactmusic quoted Radcliffe as saying. (ANI)

Rupert Grint thought he would die of swine flu

London, July 07(ANI): Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, who has now recovered from a mild bout of swine flu, has revealed that he thought he would die when he was first told that he had been infected with the disease.

“It was quite scary when they first told me I had swine flu, after what’s been in the press and stuff. I thought, ‘Am I going to die?’” the Telegraph quoted him as saying at a press conference for ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’.

However, the 20-year-old actor had recovered quickly, he said: “But it was honestly fine. I just had a sore throat and was in bed for a while.”

The star, who had taken a few days off from the making of the two final films of the wizard franchise, was also reminiscent about how he started off with the first Harry Potter film a few years back.

He added: “I have great memories, really. It’s weird looking back on the first few Harry Potter films because it just dosen’t really seem like us. It was such an exciting time in my life – everything was new, I had never been on a film set.

“I missed out on a lot of school and with that comes a lot of normality. But I don’t regret that, to be honest.”

‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ is set to release on July 15. (ANI)

Rupert Grint says he doesn’t know what to do with all his money

New Delhi, July 6 (ANI): Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise, says that he doesn’t know what to do with all his money.

Grint, 20, only realised how rich he was when he was featured in Forbes’ list of top earning young superstars in 2007, reports the China Daily.

“There was a moment where I remember thinking, ‘I have no idea what I’m going to do with all this money,’ ” he said.

Despite his worries, the star has made every effort top put a dent in his wealth, buying a pick-up truck, banjo, ice cream van, hovercraft and a home for his parents – but still prefers other aspects of fame.

“Money isn’t the only good thing about the job. I’ve gotten to meet heroes like Robin Williams. Although, my grandfather spent the whole time doing Mrs. Doubtfire impressions,” Rupert said.

Rupert has also revealed that both he and Daniel Radcliffe have crush on their ‘Harry Potter’ co-star Emma Watson.

He told FHM magazine: “Emma’s a pretty girl. Have Daniel or I ever hit on Emma? Well, she’s quite popular with the cast. As for who has the worst crush on her – me or Daniel – I’d rather not say.” (ANI)

New Harry Potter film is all about sex, drugs and rock n’ roll: Director

London, July 03(ANI): ‘Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince director’ David Yates has revealed that the new film is all about sex, drugs and rock n’ roll.

“It’s all about sex, drugs and rock n’ roll. Okay, maybe we should take the ‘drugs’ out. Really, this film is more sex, potions and rock n’ roll; but there are all these wonderful things in our story,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

The sixth film from the wizard franchise and the second under David’s direction will also see several of the young characters caught in a tangled web of love interests.

Daniel Radcliffe who plays Harry Potter will find himself drawn to Ginny, while Emma Watson as Hermione Granger will be jealous of Lavender Brown who casts her spell on Ron Weasley, played by Rupert Grint.

The new installment is also expected to be action packed; the movie is expected to open with a set piece that brings a major London landmark crashing down.

Many new villainous characters will also be introduced for the first time such as the werewolf Fenrir Greyback, and the zombie-like Inferi.

The helmer is happy about how adaptation of JK Rowling’s book offers the opportunity to explore more as a filmmaker.

He said: “Because it’s Harry Potter and because of the fan base, I think there’s a higher tolerance for what we can present to the audience.

“The viewers know the world and they’ve read about these things and they’ve experienced it on the page. Hence, we are able to do a little bit more than maybe other films can.”

The film will release on July 15th but Yates has already started filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2, the final chapters in the series. (ANI)
