Changing hairstyle frequently means you are under stress

New York, May 14 (ANI): Do you keep changing your hairstyle at regular intervals? Well, then you’re probably a little too stressed, according to a new study.

Stylelist.com has said that women who constantly go from cropped bob to long extensions and from blond to brunette may be stressed out or feeling overwhelmed.

“Changing hairstyles is really common during life transitions such as a break-up or a new career,” the New York Daily News quoted Los Angeles-based psychotherapist Heather Turgeon as saying.

“Our hair is something we can control, so it”s empowering to make changes especially when you feel like other aspects of life are out of your control,” she added.

Frequently changing styles can be a red flag that you”re looking for something more out of life, and think a new do could end your search.

“Someone who is constantly changing her hair is either a natural chameleon whose aesthetic tends to run parallel to her moods, or she”s searching for something and changing her look fills that need,” said Jason Low, stylist at the Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon”s in New York and Los Angeles.

And an expectant mom is very likely to change her hairstyle.

Low said that he”s seen women in their last few months of pregnancy ask for a short cut or a simple style so they won”t have to fuss as much after the baby is born.

“But then they return days later feeling exposed and unattractive, questioning their stylists” judgment in making the cut,” he said.

However, Low has advised women that they should try not to cut their hair on impulse, and stick with a reputable stylist who can persuade them from asking for a cut they will later regret.

And they should take comfort in the fact that it”s just hair – and will soon grow back. (ANI)

Average woman dates more than 24 men to find her ”Mr Right”!

London, Apr 24 (ANI): An average woman spends over 2000 pounds and dates more than 24 men in a bid to find her “Mr Right”, claims a new study.

The study conducted by UKDating.com points that a single date can cost a woman 85.38 pounds.

“Although you cannot put the price on true love, it seems you can certainly put a price on finding it,” The Telegraph quoted spokesman for UKDating.com, as saying.

“While men are still traditionally footing the bill of the date on the night, this shows how much women are prepared to pay behind the scenes to make each date successful,” he added.

The report said that before going on every date women spend 12.86 pounds on their hairstyles, another 26.55 pounds on a new outfit and 8.35 pounds on accessories to match the dress.

The study also showed that seven per cent of women have been on between 41 and 60 dates before finally finding someone to share their life with, the paper reports.

The report also said that despite spending a lot of money preparing for a romantic rendezvous, a third of women left halfway through the date after realising that they were sitting with “Mr Wrong”. (ANI)

Elizabeth Hurley’s son banned from watching Hugh Grant movies

London, Mar 15 (ANI): Elizabeth Hurley has banned her seven-year-old son Damian from watching her ex beau Hugh Grant’s movies, because his films contain too much swearing.

Hurley and Grant live next door to each other in London and share good relation despite their split 10 years ago.

“We”re always trying to find something that Uncle Hugh has done that he can see, but they”re full of swear words. We can”t find any!” the Telegraph quoted her as saying.

She added: “He can”t watch Four Weddings And A Funeral. He can”t watch About A Boy. It”s quite difficult trying to find stuff for kids.

The actress revealed that Damian often spends time with Grant, who is also his godfather.

She said: “We see an awful lot of him. We still live next door to each other in London.

“Damian”s very lucky, actually, because he”s got a lot of godfathers, and they all spoil him rotten. Hugh adores him and it works very well indeed.”

Hurley claims that she has permitted her son to watch her films ‘Austin Powers’ and ‘Bedazzled’, which are both rated 15.

“I wouldn”t really watch anything that I”m in, but because of Damian, I”ve seen Austin Powers thousands of times.

“He knows all my lines, he can describe all my costumes, all my hairstyles – he knows which ones are wigs; he knows the lot. And Bedazzled he loves. He loves me being the devil. Of course he knows all those lines as well. I don”t know any of them.” (ANI)

Beckinsale’s hairstyle dilemma

Washington, Sept 14 (ANI): Actress Kate Beckinsale’s daughter does not like her mother changing hairstyles.

Beckinsale says her 10-year-old daughter Lily hates it if she changes her flowing brunette locks.

“I don’t really think about my hair that much. I’ve got a daughter and if I do anything really radically different, she gets upset,” Contactmusic quoted Beckinsale, as saying.

Even her director hubby Len Wiseman sides with Lily.

The 36-year-old actress added: “If I come in the door looking different, Lily goes, ‘Ew, you don’t look like yourself. You look horrible.’ And my husband tends to do that too.” (ANI)

Penelope Cruz turns blonde for new flick

Washington, Mar 11 (ANI): Spanish actress Penelope Cruz has turned into a blonde for her role in the upcoming drama ‘Los Abrazos Rotos’.

Director Pedro Almodovar has revealed that he did not want the actress’ trademark dark and dishevelled hairstyle for the film.

Instead, he opted for a sleek platinum blonde wig – and even managed to convince Cruz to squeeze into a red latex minidress and fishnet tights to complete her dramatic metamorphosis.

“Before beginning the tests for my film I had already decided to avoid the dishevelled styles, inspired by Sophia Loren, which suit Penelope so well. After seeing the photo from Vicky Cristina Barcelona, I was even more convinced about my decision,” Contactmusic quoted Almodovar, as saying.

“I want to try not to repeat hairstyles that Penelope has worn in other films. I really enjoy reinventing her, discovering the number of characters that reside within our beautiful and versatile leading lady,” Almodovar added. (ANI)
