Jennifer Aniston keeps fit by running around horse track

Washington, September 20 (ANI): Jennifer Aniston has been running hard to maintain her fitness while shooting new film ‘The Bounty.’

The actress reportedly woke up at 5a.m in the morning and ran laps around New Jersey’s Monmouth Park racecourse to the surprise of the crewmembers.

“She showed up every morning at 5am to run laps on the giant oval for a solid hour before cameras rolled,” Contactmusic quoted a source as saying.

“She’s really disciplined about keeping fit. She’d get there before everyone else and zip around that huge track like a winner!” the source added.

The ‘Break-Up’ star apparently prefers running to other fitness regimes as it keeps her thighs and calves toned.

Even earlier this year, it was reported that she woke up at 3am to work out so that she could stick to her busy shooting schedule.

A source said at the time: “Jennifer has had a totally overhaul for this film. She wants to be seriously fit, yet remain curvy.

“There are a lot of early starts on set, so she has had to get up at 3am to get two hours in the gym before getting ready for filming.” (ANI)

Flintoff to coach UAE cricket team for six months

London, Sep 18(ANI): England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff will be coaching the United Arab Emirates national team during the period that he recovers from knee surgery.

“A partnership has been agreed with Dubai Sports City to use their gym and facilities as a base for his rehabilitation. In return he will be carrying out some coaching for the UAE national team over the next six months,” The Independent quoted Andrew Chandler, Flintoff’s agent, as saying.

Consistently rated amongst the top international all-rounders in both ODI and Test cricket, Flintoff had announced his retirement from Test cricket at the conclusion of the 2009 Ashes series, but made himself available for future commitments in One Day International and Twenty20 International matches.

Flintoff’s career has also been marred with injuries due to his heavy frame and bowling action. He recently had surgery on his knee, which had been troubling him for long, and last week he had moved to Dubai, where he hopes to open a cricket academy.

“His partnership with Sports City will also help raise the profile of his Dubai academy,” Chandler added. (ANI)

UK fitness TV teaches bhangra workout class!

London, September 17 (ANI): A new British TV station, dedicated entirely to fitness, is offering a string of classes, including those on Bhangra.

The Fitness TV, a 24-hour station, also hosts a high heel workout class for the women who refuse to get out of their beloved stilettos. Other workouts include those based on Salsa, Hip Hop and Disco.

“Just like a personal trainer, the channel allows viewers to tailor workouts to their own levels of fitness and interests and can be easily scheduled around busy lives,” the Sun quoted a spokesman for the TV shows as saying.

“Programmes range from children’s classes including a mobility and balance workout for pre-schoolers, kids’ yoga and street dance for teenagers, while pensioners and the less mobile are offered Chairobics.

“For the more adventurous, there are boot camp-style workouts and dance-based exercise sessions for Strictly Come Dancing fans, including Bhangra, Cheerleader and 70s Disco.

“There’s even a High Heels workout for more glamorous viewers,” the spokesman added.

Fitness TV founder Luan Underwood, a former personal trainer and mum-of-two, said: “We are positioning the channel as an additional workout option, not as a replacement to gyms, fitness and wellbeing classes.

“We would like to capture the imagination of the 80 per cent of UK citizens that have never visited a gym and inspire them to do so.

“We also aim to reach people unable to visit fitness facilities, perhaps because they have young children, or time pressures that make it difficult to get to the gym for a few weeks.

“With Fitness TV, people can squeeze in a session at a time to suit them, and because the classes are constantly being updated, they’ll be more motivated to stick to them than they would an exercise DVD,” Underwood added. (ANI)

Rose McGowan loses elbow part during new film stunt

Washington, Sep 9 (ANI): Rose McGowan has lost some part of her elbow after suffering serious injury on the sets of her new film ‘Red Sonja’, which is being directed by her fiance Robert Rodriguez.

While last year, the ‘Scream’ star was quite upbeat about her stunts in the she-devil comic book adaptation, but now her injury has brought the production to a standstill.

“I had wrist and elbow surgery and they took part of my elbow out. I had really bad nerve damage from doing stunts – I do a lot of my own stunts,” Fox News quoted McGowan as saying.

“I could no longer use my arm, but now I can hold a fork and drive so we’re working our way up. It’ll probably be another six months of rehab, but It’s the price you pay for being really limber and being able to do back flips!” she added.

However, despite her Hollywood success, the 35-year-old actress had initially thought being an actress was a pretty pathetic profession.

“I wasn’t trying to be an actor, I was standing outside of a gym waiting for my friend to come out and this woman he knew kept saying, ‘She should be in this movie blah blah blah’ and I was like, ‘Gross, I don’t want to be an actor! Ew!’ and then I found out they would pay me enough money for a down payment on an apartment,” said McGowan.

“Otherwise I would have had to go back and live with dad in Seattle. The film, ‘The Doomed Generation,’ became this huge cult movie and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and I’ve been following the Yellow Brick Road ever since…” she added. (ANI)

Peter was said to have made the move first. But when the glamour girl found out she reportedly wanted to beat the ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker to court and allegedly called her team of attorneys to take action as well.

“It’s quite sad really and nothing more than a petty snipe from Ms Price,” the Sun quoted a family lawyer as saying.

“It’s her way of saying, ‘I am not allowing you to divorce me – instead I am going to divorce you.’

“It’s just a way of sticking your fingers up at your ex through legal process. It’s about emotion – nothing else,” the lawyer added.

A pal of Peter said: “Peter isn’t really asking for any money or property from Katie, but there are a few pieces of furniture that he wants back. What he wants most is his gym equipment.

“The financial agreement is almost there, but they’ve still got to thrash out custody issues.” (ANI)

“Gwen has joined in a few times, and on a couple of occasions Robbie and Gwen have carried on playing into the wee small hours after everyone else went to bed,” the source said.

With Williams and Field moving back to the UK full-time ahead of his new album release, he’s keen for Gwen to come, too.

“Robbie’s new house is massive and it would be a lonely place to rattle about in on your own,” the source said.

“But Ayda and Gwen will have a lot of fun together. There are tennis courts and a gym and some nice countryside.

“Plus there is completely separate accommodation so Gwen can have her privacy,” the source added. (ANI)

Andy Murray’s life story to be turned into Hollywood flick

London, July 12 (ANI): Tennis ace Andy Murray’s life story is all set to be turned into a Hollywood movie.t least three major studios are in the run to grab the rights to the star’s life story for millions of pounds.

The rush for the rights began when studio bosses found out that the 22-year-old tennis player survived the Dunblane massacre.

Andy was just eight when Thomas Hamilton shot dead 16 pupils and a teacher at Dunblane Primary School on March 13, 1996, before killing himself in the gym.

Andy, who reached the Wimbledon semi-final last month, rarely speaks of the nightmare that unfolded before his eyes that day.

A senior executive at Fox said his studio would “easily match” Andy’s career earnings of 4.7million pounds to acquire the film rights to his life story.

“This guy is an absolute inspiration,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

It is believed that Universal and Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks are also hoping to sign him up. (ANI)

Women spend about one year of their lives deciding what to wear

London, July 9 (ANI): A new poll’s findings suggest that women spend almost one year of their lives deciding what to wear.

The poll involving 2,491 women suggests that choosing outfits for work, nights out, dinner parties, holidays, gym, and other activities means the average woman will spend 287 days rifling through their wardrobe.

The researchers behind the study say that the biggest chunk of that time is used up picking a killer ensemble for Friday or Saturday nights out, or selecting the right clothes for a holiday. ccording to them, women, on average, spend 16 minutes every weekday morning deciding what to wear, and around 14 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

“What you wear has a direct impact on how you feel about yourself and it is important a woman feels exceptional in her outfit. Whatever the occasion your clothes portray an image and we understand this is fundamentally important to women,” the Telegraph quoted a spokesman for clothes giant Matalan, which compiled the results, as saying.

The study was based on an adult lifetime from the age of 16 to 60.

It showed that most women would spend around 20 minutes deciding what to wear before hitting the town on a weekend night.

The researchers say that week nights out can take up to 20 minutes a time too.

They further say that deciding on what clothes to take on holiday takes about 52 minutes each time.

On holiday, women generally take 10 minutes in the morning trying to find an acceptable outfit, with another 10 minutes spent picking evening clothes.

Besides, dinner parties, Christmas parties, and black tie events at around 36 minutes a time six times a year – adds up to three and a half days.

The study also found, on average, women will try on two outfits each morning before coming to a final decision, and that one in two women spend 15 minutes the night before work working out what to wear. (ANI)

Queen Elizabeth to be present at Murray’s match

London, June 27 (ANI): Queen Elizabeth has cleared her appointments book in a hope to visit Wimbledon court to see British tennis star Andy Murray take on Roger Federer in the men’s final on July 5.

Murray has already had a letter of congratulation from Her Majesty after his win at Queen’s two weeks ago, and now it has been revealed the Queen is set to grace Wimbledon with her presence for the first time in 32 years, the Daily Express reports.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “The Queen does not have an official appointment on July 5. That is as far as we can go.”

The last time the Queen was at the All England Club was in 1977 to see Virginia Wade lift the women’s title. That was the last time a British player won the singles event.

Murray faces Serb Viktor Troicki on the Centre Court in the third round today as he continues his progress towards the final.

The Queen has been enthused by Murray’s progress this year, and last night the world No3 pledged to carry on battering his way through the Wimbledon draw, thanks to the muscle power boosted by his intense sessions in the gym.

Murray cracked an impressive 11 aces in his 6-2, 7-5, 6-3 thumping of Latvian Ernests Gulbis in the second round on Thursday.

He said: “I haven’t changed my motion, it’s still exactly the same as it was. It’s because I have got physically stronger. I’m a lot more balanced now. Before, my legs were stronger than my upper body and I would collapse a bit. When you do that, you hit a lot of serves long.”

“Now I’m staying taller for longer and it’s less effort to hit a hard serve. Before, I used to try to serve huge on a lot of the points, and try to get to 130-140mph. But now I’m getting a higher percentage in and hitting the lines with a lot less effort,” he added. (ANI)

Andy Murray hopes to become the David Beckham of tennis

London, June 22 (ANI): Britain’s No.1 player Andy Murray hopes to become the David Beckham of tennis, as he bids to deal with the huge pressure of being a sporting superstar.

Murray has the same management team as football legend Beckham, and when the pair launched a campaign recently to increase awareness of malaria, they travelled together to meet Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

“When you start out as a professional, you look to keep the same friends, the same people you have always had around you and just try to be true to yourself and do things that are important to you,” the world No. 3 said.

“When you start changing as a person and getting an inflated opinion of yourself and having a big ego, it becomes a problem. It happens a lot in sport nowadays and David’s done a great job of not letting all the fame and pressure get to him,” The Sun quoted Murray, as saying.

“David seems a very nice guy. It was a bit strange when we went to Downing Street – but to get the chance to meet the Prime Minister was very, very nice. That’s one job I definitely would not want to do,” he said.

Murray has two physical-fitness trainers and also travels with physio Andy Ireland, who even gives the player acupuncture if he is suffering from any aches or strains.

“In terms of the physical stuff, I started doing that 18 months ago when I started working with the new fitness trainers and was just travelling with them every week. I was training during the tennis and it made a huge difference over the year,” Murray said.

“Because of doing that, I was able to start doing the 400 metre and 200 metre runs faster and better – and lifting heavier weights. It wasn’t one thing specifically in the gym I was doing it was pretty much every part of the body I was working.

“I now feel like I can last longer in matches, whereas before I might have played a five-set match in a Slam and felt fine but my recovery wasn’t as good. I’m just recovering better from tough matches now,” he added. (ANI)

Chris Brown faces lawsuit for assault, battery on photog

Washington, May 28 (ANI): Chris Brown is being taken to court by a photographer who alleges the musician’s involvement in a violent incident.

Robert Rosen has filed a lawsuit against the singer and a L.A. Fitness gym for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment in March.

According to TMZ.com, the snapper claimed he had been “shook with incredible force” for trying to take pictures of the 20-year-old star while he was playing basketball at the gym’s court, reports Us magazine.

Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos, however, has slammed the claims, casting doubt on the intentions of Rosen, who had previously sued Pierce Brosnan in late 2007 and lost the case after alleging physical harm by the actor.

Geragos said: “This is a specious and frivolous lawsuit by one of the paparazzi seeking publicity and a payday. [Rosen] has done this before and lost. We will vigorously defend against this.”

Brown was previously taken into custody for allegedly beating his then-girlfriend Rihanna in February.

He pleaded not guilty at his April arraignment and is due to appear in court. (ANI)
