LogLogic Unveils Cloud Services for Partners and Hosting Providers, Appoints VP `Cloud Buster`

SAN JOSE, Calif.–(Business Wire)–
LogLogic, the leader in security and log management, today unveiled its Cloud
Services business model for service providers and announced the appointment of
Nadir Gulzar as Vice President of Business Development and Cloud Services.

For the past year, LogLogic has been silently collaborating with service
providers to implement cloud services solutions for enterprise customers.
Capitalizing on the scalability and flexibility of LogLogic`s Open Log
Management platform, LogLogic`s cloud solutions enable service providers to deal
with the complexities of large-scale distributed log management and compliance
reporting services.

Through a combination of physical and virtual log management appliances,
LogLogic offers service providers a way to capture and analyze log data
separately and securely for each enterprise customer, offering greater
visibility and control, as well as, fulfilling the strict compliance
requirements of PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FISMA and others. Services are offered via
utility pricing models hosted with virtual multi-tenant access for subscribers.

A recent survey found that financial services firms are avoiding cloud computing
investment, in large part due to data security and transparency concerns. “There
are three main concerns that every business has when they consider a move to the
cloud: multi-tenancy, security and visibility into where their data lives and
goes,” said Gulzar. “Log management plays a critical role in overcoming these
concerns. Together with our service provider partners, we`ve developed a model
that gives enterprise customers more visibility and control over their
cloud-based infrastructure.”

The list of MSSP`s currently working with LogLogic`s solutions is a who`s-who of
the Gartner Magic Quadrant and includes many household names, but more
importantly, there`s growing support at the grass-roots level as providers begin
to respond to the needs of their local communities.

FIREHOST

“Helping clients meet PCI and HIPAA requirements, affordably, is major focus of
our Secure managed hosting. The flexibility of LogLogic`s solution means we can
scale to the needs of our customers without worrying about being adversely
charged after-the-fact, and without compromising their security.” – Chris Drake,
CEO and founder of FireHost.

FISHNET

“There isn`t a day that goes by without an executive session articulating their
desire and concerns with moving to cloud services. Logging the cloud is a
critical component to smoothing this transition, puts the client squarely in the
driver`s seat with full visibility.” – Gordon Shevlin, Executive Vice President
of Fishnet Security.

IPCOMMERCE

“LogLogic enables us to verify the PCI status of our managed commerce services
platform with SAVVIS-hosted systems, so we can safely offer full payment card
protections to our clients.” – Peter Osberg, SVP of IPCommerce.

NETBOUNDARY

“The addition of LogLogic as a Cloud-based Log Management business model has
enabled us to be much more creative in servicing client needs. Our blended
`platform-as-a-service and Cloud-based service` approach enables us to deliver
services that are designed specifically to address our clients` unique
requirements; being agent-less, as well as infrastructure and
technology-neutral, allows our customers to rapidly deploy our services and
achieve compliance initiatives quickly and cost-effectively.” – O`Grady Milner,
CEO of NetBoundary.

In April LogLogic joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) to help establish and
promote best practices for securing data in the cloud. “The shift to cloud
computing is a serious responsibility. We have to establish a set of guidelines
and protocols for security and visibility that codify what has been IT
best-practice for years in the right companies. LogLogic’s vision is a key
driver in that conversation,” said Jim Reavis, founder of the Cloud Security
Alliance.

“LogLogic has demonstrated leadership in enterprise deployments, and with the
obvious business benefits of cloud economics it`s important for us to drive
security into this emerging business model, offering both logging of the cloud,
logging inside the cloud, and logging to the cloud,” said CEO Guy Churchward.
“Thanks to our `Cloud Busting` approach, we are addressing the fear of cloud
adoption and the part that security and transparency should play in allaying
this fear.”

India, Afghanistan reiterate commitment to maintain strategic partnership

New Delhi, Apr 26 (ANI): Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai met Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Monday on his official visit to India, and the two sides reiterated their commitment to the strategic partnership between the two countries, and expressed satisfaction at the progress in their relations.

This was President Karzai”s first visit to India after his re-election as the President of Afghanistan in 2009.

His visit marked the continuation of high-level exchanges between the two countries, and was a manifestation of the tradition of regular consultations between India and Afghanistan.

The two countries noted that these relations were rooted in historical and civilisation links, and served not only the interests and welfare of the two countries, but also contributed to peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Dr Singh stated that India desired to see a strong, stable and prosperous Afghanistan, at peace.

India remained committed to assisting Afghanistan in its development efforts in accordance with the wishes and priorities of the people of Afghanistan. India”s development partnership is focused on areas of infrastructure development, human resource development and capacity building, food assistance and small development projects that bring immediate benefit to the people at the grass-roots level.

The two leaders, in particular, took note of the Zaranj-Delaram road project, the Pul-e-Kumri to Kabul transmission line project and scholarship programmes, which had brought direct benefit to the Afghan people.

They welcomed the progress being made in the construction of the building for the Afghan Parliament. President Karzai expressed appreciation for India”s assistance to the reconstruction and development efforts of the Government and people of Afghanistan.

President Karzai outlined the recent developments to Dr Singh with regard to Afghanistan.

Dr Singh lauded the progress that had been made in national reconstruction efforts under President Karzai and the sacrifices made by the people of Afghanistan in their quest for building a democratic and peaceful society.

The two leaders reiterated their conviction that the national rebuilding process in Afghanistan should be led by the people of Afghanistan in keeping with the principles of national sovereignty, independence and non-interference in internal affairs.

They expressed their grave concern over the threat posed by terrorism to Afghanistan”s national development efforts. They expressed their determination to work with the international community to combat the forces of terrorism, which pose a particular threat to the region.

President Karzai conveyed his outrage and deep condolences over the terrorist attacks on Indian nationals in Afghanistan, and assured the Indian side that the Government of Afghanistan is committed to providing full security to them. The Indian side welcomed these assurances.

The two leaders expressed their intention to continue to consult each other with a view to consolidating their partnership and contributing to peace and stability in the region. (ANI)

Eye donation programme not yielding results in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Mar. 5 (ANI): Due to lack of awareness, people in Uttar Pradesh are still reluctant to donate their eyes, despite efforts by various NGOs to spread information about eye donation.

“In our area the current situation of eye donation is not good because there is less awareness among the people. For this every year we put in efforts along with several NGO”s, people of medical colleges and district hospitals. The federal and the state government also organise several programs for the same so that people come forward,” said R K Jaiswal, Eye Specialist, B R D Medical College, Gorakhpur.

While several NGO”s have started the awareness programmes at the grass-roots level by setting up an eye bank in Gorakhpur, the bank neglected by the government is highly functional.

“As far as the attention of the Government is concerned, the government does not pay any attention in this area. The organizations have been formed just for the sake of it. There has been an eye bank set up in Gorakhpur, but there are no activities happening. It is not sure if they have employed employees and even if there are employees, are they performing their duties or not,” said Rameshwar Pandey, a medical student.

An estimated 75 percent of India”s 12 million blind people suffer from colour blindness because of the country”s limited eye care infrastructure

A global initiative called ”Vision 2020 Right to sight” was launched as a collaborative movement by WHO, representing governments and IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness) representing International Non profit NGO organizations.

India is committed to reduce the burden of avoidable blindness by the year 2020 by adopting strategies advocated for Vision 2020. (ANI)

Humanist Party to field candidates across India

New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) More than two decades after it was formed, the party of ‘honest members’ – the Humanist Party is struggling to make a mark in national politics.

Formed as part of the international humanitarian movement on Dec 10, 1984, observed as World Human Rights Day, the Humanist Party has since then been working at the grass roots level across 17 states in the country.

‘I agree the party has been there for quite long, but it has been working at the grass roots level in 17 states and generally this kind of work is not recognised,’ the party’s general secretary Sudhir Gandotra said.

The party has 15,000 direct members and claims 100,000 supporters. It had planned to field candidates in 500 of the 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, but says it will have to lower its goal.

‘We have fielded candidates earlier as well. This time we will be fielding candidates across India. We have been asking various organisations with positive aims to join us.

‘We have given a call to field 500 people. We should be able to field at least 200,’ Gandotra said.

The party eschews violence and discrimination in all forms. The members of the party are volunteers and do not earn their livelihood from it.

‘We all are volunteers. I myself run a software company to earn my livelihood,’ he added.

The manifesto of the party enlists its objectives as: ‘Free and compulsory education of equitable quality to all from nursery stage to Class 12, as fundamental right of all citizens. Free and quality healthcare facilities to all people and establish AIIMS level hospitals in all districts of the country within five years.’

The party envisages a dream for a ‘nuclear weapons’ free India.

‘No nuclear arms. Cancellation of the 123 agreement. Comprehensive peace and no-war agreements with all neighbouring countries and proportionate disarmament of conventional as well as nuclear arms with a time-frame target. Extensive research and usage of solar, wind and fusion technologies for sourcing energy needs,’ are the other objectives of the party.
