Messi is from another planet, says Wenger

London, Mar 30 (ANI): Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger knows that his players face a monumental task trying to stop Barcelona superstar Leo Messi ahead of their crucial Champions League clash.

The Argentinian World Player of the Year poses a big threat to the Gunners’ Champions League dream.

European Champions Barcelona comes to the Emirates tomorrow with Messi in explosive form ahead of the quarterfinal. And Wenger readily reveals he is in awe of the Argentina genius.

“You go to football to watch players like Messi. What he does is so beautiful it becomes art. What he does at his age, has never been seen before,” The Sun quoted Wenger, as saying.

“To take the ball in the middle of the pitch and go score goals like he was in the school playground, it is just incredible. I was thinking a couple of years ago he couldn’t go any higher, but I am conscious that today, he’s on another planet,” he said.

Messi was crowned European and World Player of the Year after leading Barcelona to an historic Treble last year.

He scored 38 goals, including the clincher in the 2-0 Champions League final triumph over holders Manchester United in Rome.

This year he is again favourite to retain the World Player of the Year title – with United’s Wayne Rooney his main rival.

Messi already has 32 goals this term, including back-to-back La Liga hat tricks and a Champions League brace against Stuttgart in recent weeks. (ANI)

Emma Thompson walks the blue carpet at Nanny McPhee premiere with pig!

Among the cast who attended the screening of the sequel in London’s Leicester Square, were comedian Bill Bailey and Maggie Gyllenhaal, who praised Thompson for her acting.

“I’m her biggest fan and I know I’m not alone in thinking she is a brilliant genius. I would like to work with her on everything,” the Telegraph quoted her as saying. (ANI)

Sir Elton John plans to adopt 14-month-old Ukranian boy

London, September 13 (ANI): Sir Elton John is planning to adopt a child from Ukraine with partner David Furnish.

The singer revealed that a 14-month-old boy called Lev has apparently “stolen his heart.”

The child had performed at an orphanage in Ukraine while the ‘Candle In The Wind’ hitmaker was on a visit.

The 62-year-old confessed that he had always avoided adopting someone because of his age and continuous tours.

“David and I have always talked about adoption, David always wanted to adopt a child and I always said ‘no’ because I am 62 and I think because of the travelling I do and the life I have, maybe it wouldn’t be fair for the child,” the BBC News quoted him as saying.

“But having seen Lev today, I would love to adopt him. I don’t know how we do that but he has stolen my heart. And he has stolen David’s heart and it would be wonderful if we can have a home. I’ve changed my mind today,” he added.

The death of Elton’s long-term keyboardist, Guy Babylon, has influenced him too.

He said: “Last week I lost one of my best friends; my keyboard player died of a heart attack at 52.

“It broke my heart because he was such a genius and so young and has two wonderful children.

“What better opportunity to replace someone I lost than to replace him with someone I can give a future to.” (ANI)

Charles Dickens ‘displayed mild OCD symptoms’

London, Sept 13 (ANI): Charles Dickens developed a ritualistic routine in his domestic life, together with an obsessive approach to work, which is consistent with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and can be seen reflected in some of his characters, claims a new biography.

Dickens had a habit of rearranging furniture whenever he stayed in a hotel room and inspecting his children’s bedrooms every morning, leaving behind notes when he was not satisfied with their tidiness.

According to Michael Slater, emeritus professor of Victorian literature at Birkbeck college, London, and author of the book, Charles Dickens, the genius’ behaviour could be traced to his childhood when poverty forced his family to move home repeatedly, reports The Times.

Slater said: “The disorder of his upbringing may have had the effect on him of wanting to be in control.”

He reckons that Little Dorrit, the main character in Dickens’s novel of the same name, reflected his character.

“There she is, the epitome of neatness, in the squalid atmosphere of the Marshalsea prison making order and making her father comfortable and sweeping and cleaning and tidying all the time,” said Slater.

Slater said there were also signs of OCD in the semi-autobiographical David Copperfield.

Also, when it came to women, the author’s attitude was governed by neatness. (ANI)

Lily Allen rates English cricketers on who she’ll ‘shag’ or ‘snog’

London, August 22 (ANI): Pop star Lily Allen has apparently revealed who in the England cricket team she will “shag” or “snog”.

Along with her builder boyfriend Sam Cooper, she picked up a programme at the England versus Oz Ashes’ decider at The Oval.

And alongside the players’ names, the brash singer started scribbling what she would like to do with them.

Sam was sitting next to her when she rated Freddie Flintoff a “shag”, and Steve Harmison a “snog”.

“Lily was marking her favourites on the programme and rubbing her fella’s face in it,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“She likes Freddie the best so she scribbled shag next to his picture and snog next to Steve’s.

“She likes to wind her boyfriend up and make him jealous. It was doing the trick. She was clinging on to him all day. They were loved-up,” the source added.

Clad in a see-through top, Lily was shown on television as well as on the ground’s big screen several times during the opening day’s play.

Sources have revealed that Sam started to feel uncomfortable when they went to the players’ bar for a tipple at the end of play.

A source said: “He was taking it all in his stride until they went to the bar. It was then when he started to look really uncomfortable with the attention she was getting. She was the talk of the dressing room because of all the stuff she’s been saying about the team.”

Lily is also said to have turned her affections towards champion bowler Stuart Broad on Twitter.

She Twittered: “Stuart Broad is fast becoming my favourite England cricketer. OMG. Broad is a genius. And he doesn’t have a beer gut.”

Reports quoting her having stating that have also pointed out hat her current fella has a beer gut. (ANI)

Call Spoofing – Swatting – Little Hacker – Genius kids use caller-ID spoofing to mess with 911 – Dry Ice Bomb – H1 Hummer  -  Telephone hacking – Swatting Calls to 911 numbers -Caller-ID Spoofing – Swatting Calls – Spoofing

July 2nd, 2009

Many have heard of “swatting” it is commonly associated with fairly harmless pranks.  However, it can go in different directions besides the harmless pranks.  There are perfectly innocent legitimate uses for swatting.  At the same time though, there are pranks that take things way too far.  One genius known as “Little Hacker” has been telephone hacking since he was 14.  Now 19, Mathew Weigman has been at this for a few years.  He’s a part of a full group of telephone hackers that met up on telephone party lines.

The issue isn’t so much that this group is swatting, it’s more that they are screwing with 911.  Which yes, that is entirely possible, but it is a touch more tricky.  This group is associated with over 60 different swatting calls to 911 numbers across the country.  They make their prank calls to 911, but use spoofing technology to make it appear as if the call is coming from their chosen victim’s house.  The appeal behind it being, that the person they’ve made it appear is calling is going to have several police standing at their door with weapons drawn.  As of now caller-ID spoofing is still legal for most of the US.  Lawmakers in New York and Louisiana are now trying to control the practice.  Whether it be best that new laws are created or old ones modified, making calls such as this to 911 is taking things way too far.  Of course hopefully they won’t cause issues for those that have legit reasons for making swatting calls.

Jacko leaves behind ‘mountain’ of unreleased material

London, July 2 (ANI): Michael Jackson has left behind a mass of unreleased recordings that did not make it onto the records.

Tommy Mottola, the former chairman and CEO of Sony Music, which owns the distribution rights to the singer’s music, confirmed there were stacks of previously unheard Jackson songs that might be repackaged and released in future.
“There are dozens and dozens of songs that did not end up on his albums. People will be hearing a lot of that unreleased material for the first time ever. There’s just some genius and brilliance in there,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

The material includes unused tracks from studio sessions of some of the late King of Pop’s best albums, along with more recent tracks compiled with Akon, a Senegalese R andB singer and producer, and will.i.am, the Black Eyed Peas frontman.

Mottola, who explained himself as the as the “shepherd and gatekeeper” of Jackson’s catalogue, added, the releases “could go on for years and years – even more than Elvis.”

However, who would hold the ownership rights to Jackson’s unreleased music and concert footage still remains to be cleared. (ANI)

Michelangelo’s self-portrait found hidden in his final painting

London, July 2 (ANI): A self-portrait by renowned Italian Renaissance mastermind Michelangelo has been found hidden in his final painting, the Crucifixion of Saint Peter, believe experts.

According to Maurizio De Luca, the Vatican’s head of paintings restoration, the artist’s fresco painted at the Pauline Chapel in the Vatican City, holds the self-portrait of the genius in the form of a figure in the top left-hand corner of the work.

World’s leading art experts are convinced that the facial features in the fresco bare a striking resemblance to those in portraits of Michelangelo by other artists.

“What has emerged is a later Michelangelo work seen in a new light, a work which marked the end of his painting, as he dedicated himself to sculpture and architecture,” the Independent quoted De Luca as having told La Repubblica newspaper.

“I do believe this is Michelangelo. The blue turban is a very strong indication because it’s very typical of the hats worn by sculptors to keep the powder off themselves,” De Luca added.

The only other generally believed self-portrait of Michelangelo can be seen in his most famous work, the Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel, which he created between 1534 and 1541. (ANI)

Megan Fox wants her prospective boyfriends to tattoo her name or face

Washington, July 02(ANI): Want to date Megan Fox? Well, then, getting a tattoo of the actress’ name or face on your body is a must.

The actress insists that boys should tattoo her name or face on their bodies if they fancy being her boyfriend.

“I have eight tattoos. All my boyfriends are required to have one and if they don’t have one yet, I make them get a tattoo of my name or my face,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling to TV programme ‘The Early Show’.

The ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ star also revealed that she hardly had any clue what the film was all about and that she does not prefer watching her own films.

She said: “I usually don’t watch things that I do because I’m very neurotic about it and I can’t sit through it. But I had to watch this one because everyone was saying ‘Megan, it’s really good, you have to watch it.’
It’s massive. I don’t know how people can see it on IMAX without having a brain aneurism or at least a migraine headache. I’m in the movie and I read the script and I still don’t know what’s happening so I think if you haven’t read the script and you see it and you understand it you are a genius,” she added. (ANI)

“Our slow bowlers can beat the Aussies”, says Swann

London, June 28(ANI): England’s right-arm offbreak bowler Graeme Swann has expressed confidence on England’s spinners abilities to tangle Australians in a web to regain the historic Ashes series, which begins on Thursday.

Swann highlighted the magic web that spin genius Shane Warne used to create around English batsmen, however, this time he is hopeful that the likes of left-armer Monty Panesar and Adil Rashid would turn the table on Australians.

“I’d love it if we go into each game with two spinners .I realise it’s fairly alien for England to have two spinners, and obviously we’ll have to wait to see what the pitches are like, but I’d relish the prospect of bowling in tandem with Monty,” News of the World quoted Swann, as saying.

“In Trinidad at the end of the winter tour of the West Indies we bowled together and it went pretty well – hopefully it was a sign of things to come. If we bowl together well in the right conditions we can turn the game,” he added.

The right-arm offie signified the partnership of spinners John Emburey and Phil Edmonds in the 1986-87 Ashes series, when both of them helped England win a test match.

According to Swann, the pair of Emburey and Edmonds had inspired him to become a spinner. I grew up watching Emburey and Edmonds. They got me into spin, but of course all of us have been in awe of Shane Warne over the last 15 years or so,” said Swann.

With the series scheduled to begin in Cardiff on Thursday, Swann has the chance to prove that English spinners can take centre stage.

“It can be one spell of bowling that changes things. It might be just five or six overs from Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad or hopefully me to pick up the two key wickets you are after,” Swann said.

“I’d love it if I can be that man. I’d love it even more if it was me and Monty,” he added. (ANI)

Jacko fans pay tribute in Mumbai and Siliguri

New Delhi, June 28 (ANI): Michael Jackson fans in Mumbai and Siliguri paid tribute to the pop star whose musical genius was overshadowed by a bizarre lifestyle and sex scandals.

Scores of fans, including singers like Rageshwari, gathered at Mumbai’s Juhu Enigma where choreographer Sandip Soparrkar and model Jesse Randhawa paid tribute to the pop legend by performing his music numbers.

Depressed fans lit candles, sang carols and observed silence for the music genius, who died on Friday aged 50.

“I did the first launch of Michael Jackson’s music in the country, it provide me great support and whatever I am today it is because of that launch that happened. It was his support that I would say…so I am here to say that I love you (MJ) very much and I always miss your music,” said Soparrkar.

“I was five-years old when I was introduced to Michael Jackson music, I used to dress like him whenever I performed, my musicians, my dancers were great fan of him…my father has translated many Michael Jackson’s songs in Hindi, so for me it is a personal loss,” added Rageshwari.

Fans in Siliguri placed floral wreaths in front of his photographs and observed silence in the memory of history’s biggest pop star.

“I was shocked after hearing the news of his (Michael Jackson) death…I am a great fan of him and I grew up by watching his videos…I never thought that he would leave us so suddenly,” said Sonia Roy.

Jackson dominated the charts in the 1980s and sold an estimated 750 million records, a figure that is likely to rise with the expected posthumous re-release of his hits. “Thriller”, which came out in 1982, remains the best-selling album of all time.

Jackson also won 13 Grammy Awards, made boundary-breaking music videos and his slick dance moves were imitated by legions of fans, and fellow pop stars, around the world. (ANI)

Indian fans mourn Michel Jackson’s death

New Delhi/ Mumbai, June 26 (ANI): Indian fans of Michael Jackson have expressed grief and shock at the sudden death of the Pop star whose musical genius overshadowed by a bizarre lifestyle and sex scandals.

As the news bulletins, radio airwaves and social networking sites remained flooded with tributes for a man called the “King of Pop” and “natural heir to Elvis”, Bollywood actor Govinda recalled that Michael Jackson used to be his favourite during college days.

“I want to say that when we were in college we used to hear a lot about Michael Jackson and used to appreciate him a lot. And we used to talk about him that he is a great star and he reached to that height. We heard a lot about his surgeries and he has always been in news. But all I can say is that god give his soul peace,” said Govinda.

Jacko’s fans in New Delhi expressed grief and shock over his death.

“Michael Jackson death has really shocked his fans across the world. I think he was this century’s greatest singer and dancer. He was also aiming for a return… comeback but I guess that wont happen now. I really feel saddened because of his death,” said Malvin, a local.

“Michael Jackson had fans not only in America but also all over the world. And his death that too at an early age is very-very shocking,” said Akshay Kapoor, another local.

The 50-year-old, whose towering musical legacy was tarnished by often-bizarre behaviour and sex scandals, was pronounced dead on Thursday after arriving at a Los Angeles hospital in full cardiac arrest.

The self-styled “King of Pop,” whose hits included “Thriller” and “Billie Jean,” leaves behind a mountain of debt and an unfulfilled series of comeback concerts set for London in July. Many hoped the shows would rake in millions and erase his financial troubles.

But his preference for the company of children, high-pitched voice, numerous plastic surgeries and life as a virtual recluse earned him many critics and the nickname “Wacko Jacko.” (ANI)

Bangalore child prodigy trades numbers for toys as playmates

Bangalore, May 22 (ANI): A four and a half years old girl from Bangalore is well on way to become a mathematical genius.

Little Medha can recognise the numbers up to one billion and can do the big additions and subtractions mentally.

This tiny prodigy, a student of Vani Shishu Vihara, is confident that she can solve sums no sooner than the teacher writes them on the blackboard!

Medha’s ability was first recognised by her parents when they saw that she could identify the numbers on vehicles when she was just a two years old toddler.

“She can recognise numbers from one to one billion. She can do additions of five rows (five digits) in twenty seconds and three rows (three digits) in 10 seconds. Her memory is very good. Her grasping ability is more compared to children her age. Since she had already given demos in school. Even the teachers concede that her abilities are higher than children her age,” said Medha’s mother Sowmya Raj.

Her teachers believe that she is a sharp student possessing a strong grasping ability.Medha’s grasping power is more than the normal children. If I teach a particular method, she would grasp it immediately and apply it at the moment for solving problems,” said Lakshmi, Medha’s teacher.

Medha’s parents though want her to be an engineer so that her mathematical capabilities can be put to use but they are clear that they would not pressurize the girl with their own aspirations and let her chose her own vocation. By ShwetaANI)
