‘Peter Andre believes Kim Kardashian could be the one for him’

Andre, 37, jetted out to the French Riviera to meet up with Kardashian, 29, where they both spent the evening partying at the World Music Awards in swanky Monte Carlo.

The singer’s friends revealed that they were hoping it would be Andre’s lucky night.

“He believes Kim could be the one for him,” the Daily Star quoted one of the pal as saying.

Andre joined celebs including Paris Hilton, 29, Jennifer Lopez, 40, and Rachel Hunter, 40, at the awards bash.

“Peter and Kim would be perfect together. We all think it and have told him a few times. She is absolutely beautiful and a really lovely girl,” a source close to the singer said.

“Plus, she knows all about the fame game, reality shows and everything else that Peter is involved with.

Facebook loses friends over privacy settings

New York, May 15 (ANI): Recent privacy changes have prompted some Facebook users to logout for good.

“It doesn”t feel like Facebook is on the side of its users,” said Peter Rojas, a well-known blogger who created Web sites like Gizmodo and gdgt.com. “They”re playing fast and loose with privacy settings.”

Rojas isn”t the only one. Matt Cutts, head of the Web spam team at Google, and Cory Doctorow, co-editor of the popular blog BoingBoing, have also bid adieu to the social networking site.

In a Twitter post, Doctorow blamed a slew of recent privacy changes – and Facebook CEO Marc Zuckerberg – for his decision to leave the site, reports The New York Daily News.

“Never made use of Facebook, but privacy awfulness from Zuckerberg has prompted me to delete acct,” he wrote.

What’s more, “delete Facebook account” was among the top 20 trending searches on Google Friday.

New default privacy settings on Facebook put more of users’ information out there for the whole world to see.

Also, data on Facebook profile is now being shared with “partner sites” like Yelp, Microsoft, Pandora and more. These companies can use profile information to target advertising, as well as to understand what demographics are using or talking about their products.

Zuckerberg recently said in a statement, “The privacy and security of our users” information is of paramount importance to us.” (ANI)

Hubby keeping Heidi Montag ‘a prisoner in her own home’

New York, May 14 (ANI): Heidi Montag’s hubby is reportedly keeping her a “prisoner” in her own home.

Reports suggest that Spencer keeps the windows of their house covered with dark cloth, the doors blocked.

It is said that Spencer invited one of his friends, a Marine, to serve as a guard.

In fact, Heidi was allowed to leave the house only three times in April.

“Once to do a paid appearance in Las Vegas and twice to accompany Spencer on research trips for a script he”s writing. He”s forcing Heidi to help with it, making her come up with ideas for the female characters,” the New York Daily News quoted a source as saying.

Meanwhile, a source has told OK! magazine that Heidi “has become Spencer”s little blonde puppet.”

“Spencer is obsessed with power, and Heidi is obsessed with herself. This gives Spencer something he wants — power over Heidi — and it gives Heidi something she wants: feeling like someone is obsessed with her. It”s really sick in many senses, but it works,” said the source. (ANI)

LiLo denies catfight with Avril

Washington, May 12 (ANI): Lindsay Lohan has denied that she had a fight with Avril Lavigne in Hollywood.

Usmagazine.com quoted New York Post claiming that Lavigne screamed at Lohan saying “Get the hell out of my face, you are fake, you are a loser” at the Chateau Marmont Hotel. “I don”t like false people. Stay away from me and my friends.”

According to the paper, Lohan fumed back, “Don”t threaten me!” before trying unsuccessfully to get security to kick Lavigne out.

But now, Lohan, 23, tells UsMagazine.com, “That is not true.”

“I don”t know why I am such a target, but I think there”s a big misconception of who I am as a person,” she told L.A”s 102.7 KISS-FM. “I”ve just been working a lot, and it”s not a crime to go out and have fun with your friends… I do realize it”s silly of me to give people what they want – to see me out at night.”

Lohan has been involved in other scuffles too. She reportedly threw a drink at ex-girlfriend Sam Ronson at L.A club Trousdale, and was fired last month from ‘The Other Side’ by the director who said they couldn’t secure financing with her in the lead role. (ANI)

20 Vietnamese women disappear after marriage in China

Beijing, May 11 (IANS) Twenty Vietnamese women, who married Chinese men in Jiangxi province last month, have disappeared in a single day, police said.

All the 20 brides disappeared from Lichuan county in the province on the same day, Global Times reported Tuesday.

A villager, named Wang, who married a Vietnamese woman named Ruan Xiaofang, said he was introduced to her March 4. They got married soon after Wang agreed to give Ruan’s family 33,000 yuan ($4,830) as a betrothal gift.

Ruan, meanwhile, introduced 19 other Vietnamese women to Wang’s bachelor friends. All the women got married to the men after receiving betrothal gifts. But on a trip in April, Ruan left to buy something and never returned, Wang said.

After returning home that night, Wang found out that all the other Vietnamese brides had also disappeared.

Police in Jiangxi province, who were searching for the missing women, said they were illegal immigrants who married local farmers to cheat them out of betrothal gifts.

Average Brit spends £39,480 in a lifetime getting beers in for mates!

London, May 8(ANI): The average Brit spends 39,480 pounds in a lifetime buying drinks for friends and workmates, a survey has revealed.

That means UK as a nation spends 30 billion pounds a year on beer rounds.

The men, however, take the cake. The survey by www.OnePoll.com revealed nearly a quarter of men go out twice a week, and buy rounds in groups of five. That equates to around 200 pounds a month.

“Buying rounds is a way of life in Britain and these results show us to be a very generous nation. The cost adds up and over their lifetime it amounts to a sizeable piece of their disposable income,” The Sun quoted a spokesman for the website, as saying.

The figures were calculated on a span of 47 years from age 18 to 65. (ANI)

Cuddly ‘social robots’ that make social networks child-safe developed

London, May 8 (ANI): Scientists have come up with small, cute and furry interactive “social robots” called Petimos to help protect children when they make friends on social networks.

Petimos, which work in conjunction with an online social network called Petimo-World in which they are represented by avatars, are due to be launched later this year.

The revolutionary robos are aimed at 7 to 10-year-olds.

Children will only be able to accept new online “friends” if their Petimos are brought into physical contact first, to guard against cyberbullies and paedophiles masquerading as children, reports New Scientist.

“Internet and text-based communication is only a small part of human communication that we have evolved with,” says the device”s inventor, Adrian David Cheok at the National University of Singapore. “I want to use new media to help develop more natural human forms of communication. Petimo is one step in this direction.” (ANI)

Jessica Parker, Cattrall, Nixon admit to on-set rows

London, May 8 (ANI): Stars of hit American TV series ‘Sex and The City’ have admitted that there used to be rivalry between the actors and continuous arguing on the sets – but insisted they are still friends.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon revealed about their rivalry with each other.

Parker and Cattrall were at the centre of a rumoured rift. They had previously rubbished rumours, saying that they are friends who maintain a professional working relationship, reports The Daily Express.

But now they have opened up and revealed about their onset struggles.

“When you”re on set, you”re working 90-hour weeks, you”re never home, you”re exhausted. There are times when all of us have been sensitive and sometimes feelings get hurt. But I don”t have any regrets about how I”ve treated people,” 45-year-old Parker said.

“It hasn”t always been smooth sailing. But the idea that we”re somehow adversarial is ludicrous,” Nixon said.

“Nineteen-hour workdays are stressful, whether you”re driving a truck, working in a coal mine or on a set and trying to be your brightest at 4 o”clock in the morning. But there”s a camaraderie that happened through all of that. The chemistry among the four of us is very strong,” Cattrall said. (ANI)

English model Curran dismissed rumours that her relationship with Gerrard was on the rocks, when she arrived at a showbiz event with her hubby, reports The Daily Star.

Her friends have said that she is annoyed with her fellow WAGs who fuelled the split rumours.

“Quite a lot of other WAGs are bitching behind Alex’s back. She is just ignoring them but she’s not happy with it. Alex hates being called a WAG and hates what they stand for,” a close friend said.

“She is a model and journalist and doesn’t get the mentality that WAGs should stay at home or just go to lunch,” the friend added.

“They have nothing better to do than gossip and be bitchy. But when they meet it’s all air kisses and admiration for each other’s latest outfits. It’s all so false. Alex doesn’t like that lifestyle and doesn’t want any part of it,” the friend further said. (ANI)
