Boy George turns to raw diet to shed ‘jail weight’

Washington, September 8 (ANI): Fallen pop star Boy George has reportedly turned to a strict diet of uncooked food to shed weight he gained as he served his sentence in jail.

“He’s on a raw food regime and doing an hour’s walking a day,” Contactmusic quoted friend of the star as saying.

“He’s also got some DJ shows lined up so hopefully things are back on track,” the friend added.

The ‘Karma Chameleon’ singer was jailed in January for falsely imprisoning a male escort in his flat and beating the 29-year-old after a drug-fuelled nude photo shoot in 2007.

The 48-year-old was granted early release in May for his good behaviour, but was let off with a curfew and an ankle monitoring tag that was recently removed. (ANI)

Megan Fox still has a lot of growing to do, says ‘Transformers’ director

Washington, July 03(ANI): ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ director Michael Bay has slammed Megan Fox, calling her “ridiculous” for speaking against the movie.

Fox told Entertainment Weekly: “I mean, I can’t s**t on this movie because it did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don’t want to blow smoke up people’s a**. People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting.”

However, the helmer begs to disagree and instead feels that Fox still “has growing to do”.

“Well, that’s Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she’s 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

Bay is also not ready to keep secret the fact that he has helped many other stars like Fox in Hollywood turn big through his films.

He added: “Nic Cage wasn’t a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck before I put him in Armageddon. Shia LaBeouf wasn’t a big movie star before he did Transformers – and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from Bad Boys.

“Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in Transformers. I like to think that I’ve had some luck in building actors’ careers with my films.” (ANI)

She said: “I usually don’t watch things that I do because I’m very neurotic about it and I can’t sit through it. But I had to watch this one because everyone was saying ‘Megan, it’s really good, you have to watch it.’
It’s massive. I don’t know how people can see it on IMAX without having a brain aneurism or at least a migraine headache. I’m in the movie and I read the script and I still don’t know what’s happening so I think if you haven’t read the script and you see it and you understand it you are a genius,” she added. (ANI)

I had enough of Transformers world: Director Michael Bay

London, June 19 (ANI): Director Michael Bay will not do another Transformers movie because he “needs to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions.”

The comic series made into film, so far directed by Bay, will be back this year with the sequel – Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The filmmaker expressed his thoughts, saying: “After the three and a half years I’ve spent making these movies, I feel like I’ve had enough of the Transformers world.”

However, the helmer is tired of facing criticism for his action packed films by film critics.

“It’s easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France. But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers. They (the critics) review me before they’ve even seen the movie,” he said.

Nonetheless, Michael is set to try his luck in some other genre of films.

“I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions,” he said. (ANI)

Money troubles leave ‘millionaire’ boxer Eubank homeless, alone

London, Apr 12 (ANI): Fallen millionaire boxer Chris Eubank’s money troubles have left him homeless and alone.

The once swaggering former world middleweight champion has been forced to swap his lavish ways for a sad, lonely life in a hotel room, News of the World reported.

The 42-year-old dandy-who earned more than 35million pounds from the ring-has lived at the hotel in Brighton for four months because he has no other place to stay.

Hotel Staff says that he is a loner who sips lime and sodas in the hotel bar, then surfs the internet in his room at night.

Lisping Eubank was a hero to millions of British boxing fans in the 1990s. But the Inland Revenue delivered him a knockout blow in 2005, when he was declared bankrupt owing 1.3 million pounds in unpaid taxes.

Once so rich he used Evian water to wash his hands at petrol stations, Eubank now treats himself to sweets from Tesco’s across the street from his 149 pounds-a-night MyHotel pad in the Sussex town.

“We don’t think of him as a guest any more, he lives here. He’ll talk to fans and sign autographs. But we never see him taking a woman up to his room. Sometimes he’ll get a massage in the hotel spa. Other than that, he keeps to himself.”

Eubank was attracted by the hotel’s New Age theme. It has a feng shui design to “refresh your soul” and rooms have a decor of crystals and lotus flowers.

He was forced to move there after selling his 4million pounds Brighton mansion and another 850,000 pounds former home in nearby Hove to pay off his debts.

Last year ex-wife Karron, 43, told how Chris had begun globetrotting to exotic spots. But now he has been deserted by his circle of hangers-on and is having to watch every penny. (ANI)

Ten 3-D films to hit cinemas in 2009

London, Feb 23 (ANI): Hollywood is set to enter a new genre of 3-D films, with at least 10 films ready to hit the cinemas this year.

Director Steven Spielberg’s Monsters v. Aliens will be the first film to kick off the trend of 3-D movies.

The film staring Brit Hugh Laurie, Kiefer Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon will hit the theatres on April 3.

Moviemaker Pixar has already announced that all its future films will use the hi-tech process.

Titanic director James Cameron’s sci-fi epic Avatar – starring Sigourney Weaver – and the Disney/Pixar action comedy Up are also due later in 2009.

Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince and Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen will also have special 3-D sequences, reports the Daily Star.

The original 3-D was introduced to the Hollywood scene in 1953 through films like It Came From Outer Space, but the technique fizzled out when people complained the blue and red glasses they had to wear gave them headaches.

The new 3-D method also uses specs, but Spielberg’s DreamWorks partner Jeffrey Katzenberg promised: “You will feel like you will be able to reach out and touch it.”

However, cinemagoers have got a 3-D taster with the animated film Bolt, a tale about a dog that thinks it’s a superhero. (ANI)
