‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ all set to woo audience

Mumbai, Sep 9 (ANI): Bollywood’s latest romantic drama featuring some of the top actors is all set to woo the audiences with its originality.

Directed by, Prem Soni, ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’, is an unusual story of passion, love and an extra-marital affair.

The film starring Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan and Sohail Khan is a simple ordinary story set in a contemporary fashion.

Targeted at the youth, the film also deals with the issues surrounding career over love which is one of the main reasons for an unstable marriage in today’s time.

“It is an original film with original storyline. Coming from close people of mine, family friends. So it’s sketched from there. So its completely original, no similarity whatsoever,” said Prem Soni, director.

The film revolves around the lives of Samir Khanna, played by Salman Khan and Raina, played by Kareena Kapoor, who have a fairy tale marriage.

Samir gets his dream job and the couple have a great life until one mistake ruins it all.

According to Kareena, the film has been made from the point of view of the woman and is a journey of a girl’s life.

“For me, I think the girl’s role was very strong. She is the protagonist of the film. Whatever story is told in the film is from her point of view. So it’s a journey of a girl’s life and after marriage, after she gets married to Samir, how she makes a friend and what happens. For me it was a contemporary idea and an interesting role for me,” said Kareena.

The film is set to be released at Diwali. (ANI)

Meet the 12yr-old Brit boy who has landed the world’s sweetest job

London, May 11 (ANI): Brit schoolboy Harry Willsher has certainly landed the sweetest job in the world-a chief taster in a sweet factory.

The 12-year-old boy from Billericay, Essex, had won a contest at Swizzell’s Matlow to find a recruit, and will now be testing top-secret sugary recipes as part of his new job.

“I had a tour after I got the job and it was as if I’d stepped into the book Charlie And The Chocolate Factory,” British tabloid The Sun quoted him as saying.

Willsher bowled over the judges after he described the flavour and smell of his favourite sweet- the Drumstick lolly.

And now the Derby firm, which also makes Love Hearts, Rainbow Drops and Parma Violets, has given the youngster chief taster overalls and business cards.

Harry said: “On my first visit it was like I was inside Willy Wonka’s factory, especially when I saw the Rainbow Drops machine, which pops out lots of brightly coloured sweets. This is my dream job. I just hope I can do it when I grow up too. I’ll taste new sweets every three months but I’m not allowed to tell anyone what they are.”

Harry’s dad Anthony, 44, an insurance worker, said: “He had a wonderful day at the factory. It was a magical place.” (ANI)

Taiwanese candidate hot favourite for ‘best job in the world’

Melbourne, May 1 (ANI): As Tourism Queenland’s ‘best job in the world’ campaign enters its final stage, Taiwan’s wild card entry Clare Wang has been touted as the winner of Great Barrier Reef’s much-publicised caretaker job.

An interpreter by profession, Wang made it to the competition by securing more than 150,000 votes from across the world last month.

According to betting agency PinnacleSports.com, Wang has emerged as the hot favourite among all the contestants.

Simon Noble from PinnacleSports says punters clearly feel Wang’s appeal in China and Taiwan – two hugely important and growing markets for tourism in Australia – justify supporting her at odds of 5/2, reports Australian Associated Press.

The final selected candidates will travel to Hamilton Island on May 3 – in the Whitsunday island group about 900km north of Brisbane – to spend a few days working their dream job under the gaze of selectors before the winner is announced on May 6.

However, tourism officials could yet add a final twist to what has been one of the world’s most colourful global marketing ventures of modern times.

“After seeing the organisers move the goalposts once already when naming 16 finalists instead of 11, it wouldn’t surprise us to see more than one winner being named to double the exposure for Tourism Queensland,” said Noble.

The six-month stint will require the successful applicant to explore neighbouring islands, swim, snorkel, discover wildlife, and the locals on a 150,000 dollars contract. (ANI)

Now, ‘Really Goode Job’ for wine lovers

San Francisco, Apr 30 (ANI): Inspired by the publicity campaign of Queensland Tourism, an American winemaker is offering a dream job with a salary 10,000-dollar-a-month for six months to drink wine, learn and talk about wine, eat good food and live rent free.

According to the Murphy-Goode winemaker Dave Ready Jr., the ideal candidate should have an engaging personality, should be a wine-lover and an expert at tweeting, blogging, and keeping photo and video diaries.

The ‘Really Goode Job’ with Murphy-Goode Winery in Sonoma County, as ‘Wine Country correspondent’, is expected to attract 10,000 applications.

Hundreds of wine-loving, social-media-savvy types thronged to downtown San Francisco to apply for the job.

“I’m busy trying to turn grapes into wine, so what I don’t know, really, is Web 2.0,” the San Francisco Chronicle quoted Ready as saying.

“We’re looking for a communicator to promote wine, promote what we do and promote Sonoma County,” he added.

Ready said the idea for the dream job in Healdsburg came from a publicity campaign launched in Queensland, Australia.

The tourism bureau there invited applicants to apply for “The Best Job in the World,” as “island caretaker on the Great Barrier Reef.”

The application process for the ‘Really Goode Job’ closes June 5, when the 50 top candidates will be selected.

The applicant should be at least 21 years old. They are required to complete an employment application, and upload a one-minute video (longer videos will not be viewed) on www.areallygoodejob.com that demonstrates special qualifications for the job.

The list will be narrowed to the top 10, who will be interviewed between June 27 and July 1. The candidate selected for the Really Goode Job will be announced July 9 and the work is to commence Aug. 1. (ANI)

Taiwan woman steps closer to Australia’s dream job

Sydney – Taiwan’s Clare Wang was Wednesday destined to join 10 others in the running for the highly paid dream job of caretaker on a paradise island in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

When voting for the wildcard entry closed, the Taipei-based interpreter had garnered 151,637 votes – almost three times the tally of her nearest rival.

The 10 other contestants picked by Tourism Australia to audition for the six-month stint on Hamilton Island will be announced April 2. Wang is almost certain to make up a shortlist of 11 from which the final selection will be made.

Like 34,633 others, Wang submitted a 60-second video-clip application. It was selected for the Top 50 and people were invited to vote one of those applications to join the 10 picked by Queensland Tourism.

If successful against her 10 opponents, Wang will start work in July – cleaning the swimming pool, feeding fish and producing a blog to relay to the world her impressions of Hamilton as a holiday destination.

The job, though real, is essentially a tourism promotion campaign.

Taiwanese interpreter is top contender Australia’s dream job

Taiwanese interpreter is top contender Australia's dream job Taipei – Taiwanese interpreter Clare Wang became the top contender for the dream job as caretaker of an unmanned island off the coast of Australia Thursday after the No 2 candidate was disqualified.

The Queensland tourism board removed Russian candidate Julia Yalovitsyna from the top-50 shortlist because she featured in an “inappropriate video.” The judging panel was also probing claims that she worked as a porn star.

With the 37-year-old now out of the picture, the gap between the Wang, who is in her 20s, and the other candidates is even wider.

Since Tourism Queensland launched the campaign to find a caretaker for six months for Hamilton Island, which is part of the Great Barrier Reef, more than 35,000 people worldwide have applied, lured by the 100,000 US dollar pay and the scenery.

By Thursday, Wang had won 143,965 votes from online voters around the world, with applicants from Canada (47,936 votes), Ireland (27,910), the United States (19,895) and France (15,163) trailing behind.

In her videotape, Wang describes herself as good at breaking the communication barrier, curious and adventurous. She says she likes swimming, diving, mountain climbing and bungee jumping. That she has never been to the Great Barrier Reef is “one more reason you should vote for me!” she says.

Media reports in Taiwan said it was a miracle that Wang has become so popular, suggesting her warmth, enthusiasm and fluency in English could have played a role.

Tourism Queensland will thin the shortlist to 11 candidates on April 2, by choosing 10 names. One of the candidates is to be chosen in an online vote.

The authority plans to interview the 11 finalists on May 3 and announce the winner on May 6. The new caretaker is due to start work on the island on July 1: cleaning a swimming pool, feeding fish and producing a blog to relay to the world her impressions of Hamilton Island as a holiday destination. Support outpours for Russian ‘dream job’ candidate caught in porn scandal

Melbourne, Mar 14 (ANI): Australians have come out in support of the Russian “dream job” candidate caught in porn scandal.

Tourism Queensland announced that it is investigating claims that Julia Yalovitsyna, a front-runner in their “best job in the world” campaign, worked as a model for an illegal porn studio and coached women for sexually explicit films.

However, Aussies have backed Yalovitsyna, with most saying she should be allowed in the competition.

Many people believe she would be a good face for Tourism Queensland and that her looks would lure more people to the state.

“Who cares if she was in a porn scandal? Her hotness will lure more men to that overpriced place,” News.com.au quoted a reader as saying.

Another reader said that her unique accent would be an advantage.

“She will be perfect for the job and a fresh face for Queensland holidays. Her accent is totally mind blowing,” said the reader.

Meanwhile, Yalovitsyna’s computer has been seized by police for investigation, as it contained some of the materials included in the criminal case.

A spokesperson from Tourism Queensland said it was taking the matter seriously.

“We are taking the claims made in the media seriously and are currently investigating the matter. Tourism Queensland will decide on a course of action once we have accurate information,” said a spokesperson. (ANI)

Russian ‘best job in the world’ candidate embroiled in porn scandal

Melbourne, Mar 12 (ANI): A Russian candidate for the ‘best job in the world’ has been caught in a porn scandal.

According to the Sun, Julia Yalovitsyna, who made it to the list of Top 50 finalists for Hamilton island’s caretaker job, has been accused of being a porn studio model.

Yalovitsyna, allegedly worked as a model for an illegal online porn studio and coached women for sexually explicit films.

Tourism Queensland has launched an investigation into the accusations surrounding the competition’s second most-rated contestant.

Cops have seized Yalovitsyna’s computer that contained some of the materials included in the criminal case.

The island “dream job” candidate has been linked to a chain of erotic studios under police investigation in her home city of Petrazavodsk, Russian news website Pravda reported.

However, Yalovitsyna has dismissed the claims and said she was never an online porn model.

“I am shocked! This is not true! I have nothing to do with that!” News.com.au quoted Yalovitsyna, 29, as saying.

“There were photographs, but do they change anything? I am not 18 after all. Those images have never appeared on the Internet and I have never worked as an online model,” she added.

However she admits that her husband, Aleksei Yalovitsyna, was involved in the criminal case.

“Yes, at the moment my husband is accused of spreading pornography. But we plan to win this case,” she said.

“The investigation has no proof. It is absolutely concocted and my personal life is nobody’s business but of my husband’s and my own,” she added.

The six-month stint will require the successful applicant to explore neighbouring islands, swim, snorkel, discover wildlife, and the locals. (ANI)

Brisbane student to go global for Best Job in the World

Melbourne, Mar 11 (ANI): A 20-year-old Brisbane student will visit as many countries as she can in next twelve days, in a stunt she hopes will win her the best job in the world.

Hailey Turner, the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) business student, made a short-list of 50 people out of 34,684 applications worldwide for the dream job.

Turner will go to as places as she can to boost her application for a six-month job on the Great Barrier Reef’s Hamilton Island.

“We’ve got Tokyo, Helsinki, Copenhagen, London, New York, Washington and LA,” News.com.au quoted Turner, as saying.

“The goal is to meet as many people in as many places as I can by the time the public voting closes.

“I want to travel to some of the largest demographics for international visitors to the reef and get out and meet as many locals as I can and encourage them to come and visit the reef.

“The trip will be a mix of public activities to get the world’s attention, and visiting some of the world’s famous places to get tips on how to market the islands of the Great Barrier Reef,” she added.

Turner has launched a website she’ll be using to chronicle her trip www.seeyouatthereef.com.

Turner has said that she wants to prove an Aussie can win the job.

“I’ve heard a lot of talk they’re not going to give it to an Aussie, and I just want to prove an Aussie can do the job better than an international applicant,” she said.

“One of the things the judges are going to be looking at will be the creativity and initiative of the applicants, as well as their ability to do this job.

“If I can convince people that their next holiday should be in Queensland, and do it in a creative and unusual way, I hope that will get everyone’s attention,” she added. (ANI)

Over 9000 people from 162 countries in race for ‘Best Job in the World’

Melbourne, Jan 29 (ANI): The Great Barrier Reef’s dream job has attracted more than 9000 jobseekers from 162 countries, who would love to swim, snorkel and blog about it.

Desperate to win the “Best Job in the World”, thousands of jobseekers are seen bragging, begging, singing, and even getting tattooed to become tropical island’s new caretaker.

Tourism Minister Desley Boyle said the campaign was arguably one of the most successful tourism campaigns ever, attracting more than 2.3 million people to its website.

“We have been absolutely thrilled by the response which has seen people from Paris to Mongolia and Kazakhstan to Chile logging onto the website,” News.com.au quoted Boyle as saying.

“They have been talking about it everywhere from online blog sites to local pubs, from work places to around the dinner table at night it has captivated the world,” he added.

Great Barrier Reef ‘dream job’ not fake, assures Tourism Queensland

Melbourne, Jan 20 (ANI): Tourism Queensland has assured that the Great Barrier Reef “dream job” is real despite attracting criticism for publicising a fake applicant.

The tourism officials have admitted that the video of a woman getting a tattoo in order to win the ‘dream job’ was fake – insisting it was a lapse in judgement of posting it without any indication.

The video showed an Australian woman “Tegan” getting a tattoo to showcase her passion for the Great Barrier Reef, in a bid to land the six-month, 150,000 dollars job, who is otherwise an employee of the ad agency behind the campaign.

The six-month stint will require the successful applicant to bunk in a luxury villa, explore neighbouring islands, swim, snorkel, discover wildlife, and the locals.

“We messed up,” News.com.au quoted Anthony Hayes, Tourism Queensland’s Chief Executive Officer as saying.

“We should have put the word ‘sample’ on it and we’ve now removed it so that there’s no confusion attached to it at all.

“Due to the whole “dream job” concept being so unique, Tourism Queensland didn’t predict the problems that posting the video would cause,” he added.

Hayes said Tourism Queensland is not worried about any negative responses to the video.

“The positive response we’ve had to the campaign has just been absolutely overwhelming,” he said.

“This is new for us. We’ve never done anything like this before… we’ll hopefully not mess up anymore.

“1.8 million people have visited the website and we’ve had six and a half thousand applications in a week so we’re very pleased with how the campaign’s going” he added. (ANI)

Whoopi Goldberg praises late Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry

Washington, Jan 16 (ANI): Whoopi Goldberg has praised late Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry for representing black people in his iconic science-fiction show.

Roddenberry, who passed away in 1991, hired African-American actress Nichelle Nichols a lead character in the original 1969 TV series, at a time when the black community wasn’t well represented in sci-fi programmes.

And the Oscar-winner said the TV legend’s actions inspired her to take on a role in the show’s successful spin-off, ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’.

“Other science-fiction movies you saw had no black people in them anywhere. Isn’t that something? I wanted to carry on that tradition. It wasn’t until I did Star Trek that people thought I could do sci-fi,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

Goldberg also confessed that her dream job would be a permanent role in sci-fi movies.

“If I could be doing sci-fi and horror all the time I would be doing it. I have loved it since I was little. A good scare is great and I love the idea you can get people to feel things without having to show it to them,” she added. (ANI)
