In China, get a divorce to buy second home!

New Delhi, May 13 (ANI): Li Guoliang, 42, is planning to divorce his wife, not to end an unhappy marriage, but to buy a second home.

His decision came after the Chinese government imposed restrictions on a family purchasing a second home, in a bid to curb property speculation.

According to reports by English.news.cn, a divorce could reduce the couple”s down payment by 140,000 yuan (20,505 U.S. dollars) and mortgage payments by 100,000 yuan, said Li, who is considering buying a 720,000 yuan second home for investment in Changsha, the capital of central Hunan Province.

In mid-April, the State Council, or the Cabinet, ordered banks nationwide to raise the down payment for a family to buy a second home to a minimum 50 percent of the value from 40 percent, with a mortgage rate no less than 1.1 times the benchmark interest rate.

“After we get divorced, my wife will claim our house, so that I can apply for a mortgage as a first-home buyer since I don”t have a house under my name. And we will remarry after that,” Li said, adding that he got the idea from a real estate agency.

Chen Ping, a real estate agent in Changsha, has helped many couples apply for the preferential mortgage for the first-home buyer through a “fake divorce,” which was “legitimate and viable, just like reasonable tax avoidance.”

Seemingly a risk free procedure, Feng Kun, a lawyer with the Changsha-based Xiangsheng Law Office, warns that there could be unseen repercussions.

“What if your spouse changes his or her mind and refuses to remarry? It would be a big blow,” Feng said. (ANI)

“Whenever she needs me she knows I’m straight there, no excuses,” he said.

Troubled Cheryl, 26, who describes the hip-hop star as her “fairy god-father”, appears to have found a loyal friend in Will, though she remains undecided about whether to divorce Ashley.

But Will is keen to prove to Cheryl that he can be trusted.

“She isn’t the type of girl who’d go out there flaunting it. She’s a real good girl. When you get a girl like that you do what you can to keep her,” he said.

“To get a girl that’s hot who knows how to conduct herself is a rare thing. You’d have to be stupid to jeopardise that,” he stated.

The rapper has even been bragging to his fans that Cheryl is his “wifey”.

“When I chatted to Will at a London club, he kept calling Cheryl his ‘wifey’,” a fan revealed.

“It’s obvious that he’s besotted by her,” the fan added. (ANI)

‘Walima’ on Apr 25, reception on Apr 27 for ‘just married’ Shoaib-Sania

Lahore, Apr.20 (ANI): The reception and ‘walima’ dates of the newly married sports couple cricketer Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza have been announced.

While the reception will be held on April 25 in Shoaib’s hometown, Sialkot, the reception will be held in a five-star hotel Lahore on April 27.

Announcing the dates, Shoaib’s brother-in-law Imran Zafar said the newly married couple would visit Pakistan as soon as Malik gets his passport back.

Zafar said about 1000 guests are likely to attend the ‘walima’. The Malik’s are also expecting 15 to 20 Indian guests during both functions.

On Monday, the Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed all cases against Shoaib, and ordered the police to return his passport.

The court also said that Shoaib and Sania are free to visit Pakistan whenever they want.

Earlier on April 5, Shoaib had handed over his passport and mobile phone to the Hyderabad Police, after an investigation team questioned him on a complaint filed by his first wife Ayesha Siddiqui’s father Mohammed Siddiqui.

Acting on Siddiqui’s complaint, police had asked Shoaib not to leave the city without their permission, and also alerted immigration officials.

The decision to dismiss all cases comes after Shoaib divorced Ayesha on April 7.
