Court rejects Oz woman”s claim for $278k a month in divorce settlement

Melbourne, June 11 (ANI): An Australian woman”s claim for 278,000 dollars a month in spousal maintenance from her ex-husband for herself and her only son, has been rejected by the Family Court.

The wife, who cannot be named, applied for the money before a final settlement from her husband, whose wealth has been estimated at between 77 million dollars and 110 million dollars, reports the Courier Mail.

She also wanted a 24 million dollars property settlement, including a 3.3 million dollars chalet in Switzerland, and 1.2 million dollars a year to pay for four full-time carers for their son, who has autism.

She has already extracted 16 million dollars from the pool of marital assets but told the court the money had been spent on legal fees and living expenses, and she needed more to cover her costs pending a final settlement.

The couple from Adelaide met in the late 1980s and married in 1994, and their only child was born in 1996.

The wife claims the child has autism and needs the support of four full-time carers, three of whom are her own siblings, who are being paid 110,000 dollars a year.

The husband”s legal team is contesting the claim.

In an earlier hearing – there have been 28 so far – the court heard that the boy had become “very much the little prince” in his home, where “paid helpers work to fit around him”.

A child psychologist, who cannot be named, said the boy operated in a “comfort zone, where he basically gets his own way most of the time”.

The father, whose declared income is 300,000 dollars a week, and who has been living in Hong Kong with his new wife since 2008, has been fighting in court to see his son since 2007.

The court has tried to set up meetings, but the wife has failed to deliver the boy, saying he becomes extremely anxious when told he must see his father.

In the most recent hearing of the matter, before judge Christine Dawe in Adelaide, the wife made her claim for 278,000 dollars a month in spousal support backdated to 2005.

The husband proposed paying 10,788 dollars a week or 560,000 dollars a year for the boy”s care and education. He recently paid 691,000 dollars into a trust fund to cover bills.

The wife backed her claim with a statement of recent expenditure, showing 4624 dollars spent on balloons and flowers for the child”s 14th birthday party, and 97,000 dollars for a new car, although she has one valued at “more than half a million dollars”.

Her legal fees to queen”s counsel were listed at 125,000 dollars a month during the trial.

Her own weekly expenses were put at 6254 dollars a week, including 2300 dollars for holidays, and 800 dollars for clothes.

The wife”s claim for an interim property settlement was rejected pending the full hearing, as was the claim for 278,000 dollars a week in spousal maintenance.

The court did, however, grant her 375,000 dollars in a lump sum, pending the full hearing, which may be held later this year. (ANI)

Greg Norman”s ex-wives ‘hurt over his new relationship’

Melbourne, May 10 (ANI): Golf legend Greg Norman”s ex-wives Chris Evert and Laura Andrassy are disappointed with the disclosure that the sports star is in a relationship with Kirsten Kutner.

Rumours of Norman’s extra-marital affair with Kutner had sparked in 1995, while he was married to Andrassy.

However, he claimed that she was just a friend, with whom he grew close very recently.

Andrassy suggested it was hard to believe. Seemingly, a strict clause in her multi-million dollar divorce settlement with Norman stopped her from revealing much.

“It”s difficult for my children. They”ve been through enough and I really want to keep them from dealing with anything to do with their father,” the Herald Sun quoted Andrassy as telling Woman”s Day magazine.

She added: “There is a lot to the story. It does have something to do with me, but it doesn”t have anything to do with me anymore… I”ve moved on.”

Also, Norman’s another ex-wife, Evert is reportedly “shocked and deeply hurt”.

She said: “I am in a good place raising my sons. My boys are so, so happy to have me back. This is where I want to be.” (ANI)

Silvio Berlusconi ‘agrees to divorce’ second wife

London, May 10 (ANI): Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, has reportedly agreed on a divorce settlement with his second wife/actress Veronica Lario.

According to reports, Lairo will receive “considerably less” than the 3.5 million Euros a month, she had demanded as maintenance.

Instead, Berlusconi, 73, has offered her up to 300,000 euros a month.

Also, she is likely to retain Villa Belvedere, her mansion at Macherio near Milan.

Legal sources revealed that the estranged couple, had “coldly shaken hands” after nearly five hours of talks at the Milan courthouse.

Nonetheless, they added that the outcome had been “satisfactory”.

Lario blamed the leader, who has been linked to different women in the past, for the split, reports the Times.

Meanwhile, Berlusconi’s aides suggested Lairo had an affair with a bodyguard.

Lario’s staff, however, denied the allegation.

The two have been married for twenty years and have three children together. (ANI)

NRI convicted of assaulting police officer-wife in UK

LONDON: A Manchester-based Indian-origin delivery van driver has been convicted of assaulting his police officer-wife, who later died of cancer, and is likely to face a jail sentence.

Vijay Singh, 37, and mother of four children, was in bed at her house when her estranged husband Wlati Singh, 39, entered and punched in her head and chest on November 3, 2009.

Singh was convicted of assault after a statement made by Vijay was read to the Manchester Magistrates Court. The court was told that the couple were married for 20 years but split in 2007.

In her statement, Vijay said how Singh burst into her house threatened not to accept the 18,000 pounds divorce settlement she was offering.

“He swung at me and punched at the back of my neck on the left side. Then he punched my forehead and chest. I was in a lot of pain after he hit me,” she said.

According to reports from Manchester, Singh was also found guilty of assaulting Vijay’s mother, Kailash Kaur, 57.

Two neighbours saw Singh punch Kaur before he ran into Vijay’s house and locked the door. Kaur was left with a cut lip and her bottom teeth were loose afterwards.

“He was yanking her by the hair with one hand and with the other fist he was repeatedly punching her in the mouth,” neighbour Terence Moss said.

Singh told the police he remembered Vijay crying and trying to hug him, but nothing else.

Winehouse’s ex ‘drops #6m divorce settlement claim’

London, September 14 (ANI): Amy Winehouse has made her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil drop his 6-million-pound divorce settlement claim, sources say.

Until now, he was allegedly demanding pay-off for his contribution to the troubled singer’s 2006 hit album Back to Black.

However, the singer met her former flame in secret earlier this month to make him drop the demand.

“They’re still close and are working things out day by day in terms of the future. But Blake promised Amy not to ask for another penny from her,” the Daily Express quoted a source as telling Britain’s News of the World newspaper.

Their relationship ended in July this year after Winehouse admitted adultery. (ANI)

Michael Jackson was an excessively lavish spender and a car freak

Washington, July 11 (ANI): While Michael Jackson reportedly died with a debt estimated at around 400 million dollars, it has emerged that the ‘King of Pop’ enjoyed an excessively lavish lifestyle, and had a “thing” for cars.

The ‘Thriller’ hit-maker was known for splashing out money to support his lavish lifestyle with private planes, zoo animals, fantasy rides, antiques, hotels, and personal staff.

However, court papers from his 2000 divorce with Debbie Rowe have revealed that Jackson absolutely loved automobiles, reports Fox News.

According to the papers, 75 vehicles had been registered under Jackson’s name in California, ranging from several Rolls Royce’s to fire trucks to motorcycles to convertibles to Chevys to Mercedes to pick-up trucks.

But Rowe was permitted to keep just one car – a 1998 Ford Explorer-as part of her divorce settlement.

The settlement also states that Jackson was to be the sole owner of “all trains” in his possession.

Rowe was also awarded a house in Beverly Hills, but Jackson owned Neverland ranch and three other sprawling properties in California.

And it is believed that his trustees now have their work cut out piecing together all his funds.

At the time of his divorce, MJ had 16 checking accounts and 5 savings accounts with numerous different Californian banks.

But despite being such a big spender, Jackson’s made it to the 2000 edition of the Guinness Book Of World Records for breaking the world record for the “Most Charities Supported By a Pop Star.” (ANI)

Winehouse’s mum accuses Fielder-Civil of being ‘a gold-digger’

London, Apr 23 (ANI): Amy Winehouse’s mother has accused Blake Fielder-Civil of being a gold-digger.

Fielder Civil had filed for divorce from the ‘Back To Black’ hitmaker on the grounds of adultery, after he saw pictures of her canoodling with another man in St. Lucia.

However, his case weakened after recent reports revealed that he has impregnated a fellow rehabber named Gilleen Morris, who was being treated along with him at the Pheonix Future rehab.

Now, Winehouse’s mother has claimed that she would not be dazed if Fielder Civil tries to demand for big bucks during the divorce settlement, as he wants to acquire as much as possible.

“It sounds like his hands are outstretched not only for him, but for this person he’s made pregnant. To me it seems like a case of ‘lets get our hands out for the money,” The Daily Star quoted Janis, as saying.

Janis also revealed that Blake’s philandering with fellow rehabber came as a shock to Winehouse, who was keen to sort things out with him.

“Amy did everything she could to get back from St. Lucia to support him, and he had been doing that. It’s a blow. He’s divorcing her for adultery but what about this? I think it’s a case of Blake’s showing his true colours now,” Janis added. (ANI)

Gibson’s lawyers tell his Russian lover to shut up

London, Apr 23 (ANI): Hollywood actor Mel Gibson’s lawyers have silenced Russian pop star Oksana Pochepa from speaking out about their relationship until divorce settlement.

The 24-year-old singer said they feared an affair could cost the actor a fortune in his 640-million pound divorce.

However, she refused to deny a relationship with the Braveheart star, or pregnancy rumours.

“Until Mel and his wife Robyn settle their relations, no one has the right to speak about this,” the Sun quoted Pochepa as saying.

“It is unfair. It’s not normal. As soon as the divorce happens, I will be able to comment.

“He is a superb man. I have no choice except to keep silent now,” she added. (ANI)

Kate Walsh requests court to block estranged hubby from claiming alimony

Washington, April 16 (ANI): Actress Kate Walsh has approached Los Angeles’ Superior Court of California with the plea that her estranged husband Alex Young be blocked from claiming alimony.

The Private Practice star wants to avoid paying Young alimony.

She had her lawyers file documents on Monday requesting the court to stop Young from claiming any money from her, reports Contactmusic.

According to TMZ.com, Kate has also requested the court to give her more time to evaluate all her assets, pending the divorce settlement. (ANI)

Fielder-Civil ‘expecting child with fellow-rehabber’

London, April 12 (ANI): Blake Fielder-Civil, the estranged husband of Amy Winehouse, impregnated fellow rehabber and mum-of-two Gilleen Morris, it has emerged.

This new twist might undermine Blake’s effort to extract millions from his wife.

Morris, 31, revealed how the child was conceived in rehab.

“Blake seduced me and we had a secret fling. When I told him I was pregnant he said, ‘Oh f***!’ But he vowed to stand by me and raise the child,” News of the World quoted her, as saying.
“Initially I was planning to have an abortion but Blake’s vow has completely thrown me.

“I never planned for any more children. Our fling was just a bit of fun. I never imagined these consequences. I’m now confused and don’t know what to do,” she added.

Gilleen’s bombshell revelations could wreck Blake’s plan to grab half his wife’s 10-million pound fortune in a divorce settlement, for he has been compiling a case against Winehouse on the grounds of her infidelity. (ANI)

Amy Winehouse ‘to offer hubby £2.5M in divorce settlement’

Washington, February 9 (ANI): Amy Winehouse reportedly wants to offer not more than 2.5 million pounds to her jailbird-hubby in divorce settlement.

Blake Fielder-Civil had filed for divorce in January, following reports that his singer-wife had been romancing former rugby player Joshua Bowman while holidaying in the Caribbean.

Amy was said to have wanted to try and save her 20-month marriage, but decided to go ahead with the split after Blake was reported to be setting his eyes on her 15 million pound fortune, and alleging himself to be the muse behind her tunes.

“She wanted to come home but it was too cold,” Contactmusic quoted a source close to Amy as telling British newspaper The Mail.

“She will instruct lawyers through arranged phone conversations. She wants to settle for half of what she has earned during their time together, around £2.5 million,” the source added. (ANI)

Paul McCartney: Divorce was a dark place

London, Jan 28 (ANI): For the first time since his much publicised divorce battle with Heather Mills, Sir Paul McCartney has come out in the open to speak about his love-split pain.

The ex-Beatle said his emotions over the break-up came out while recording latest album ‘Electric Arguments’ as part of duo The Fireman.

“Love and light is mentioned a lot on the album. Parts of it are dark and edgy,” The Sun quoted him as saying.

He added: “It could be because I’ve been through a dark place. I am a man who needs love. Every man needs love, guys like romance. I do anyway.”

Mills, 41 ended her six years marriage with the legendary singer, with a 24.3million pounds divorce settlement last March.

Macca said: “Things don’t always work out but I like the idea of being dignified. I don’t think it helps to mouth off all the time.”
