Kaldewei Recalling Bath Handles

AHLEN, Germany, July 6, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Kaldewei is recalling the bath handles “Rondostar-Multi-Griff”, “Studiostar-Multi-Griff” and “Saniluxstar-Multi-Griff” supplied between 1996 and 2002. This recall does not affect any of the other Kaldewei bath handles.

In very rare cases, incorrect assembly of the above bath handles may result in damage if greasy substances penetrate between the surface of the bath and the handle seal. This may damage the plastic in the handle and thus weaken the material over time. In extreme cases the handle may break under pressure.

The risk is greater if an appropriately qualified specialist did not fit the handles. The handles in question may be attached to various Kaldewei bath models.

Customers with a Kaldewei bath handle like the one illustrated with the sketched dimensions are asked to contact Kaldewei at the following service hotline number (standard telephone charges apply) in order to discuss the further course of action.

Service hotline: +49-2382-785-140 (standard telephone charges apply)

Customers will be able to obtain further information here and establish whether they have a product that is affected by the recall.

You will also find further information at http://www.kaldewei.com

Wenger refutes latest Barca-Fabregas talk

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists Cesc Fabregas will not be sold to Barcelona regardless of any meetings between the two clubs’ directors.

Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood claimed on Wednesday informal talks between the clubs had taken place about Fabregas’s future during Barcelona’s recent Champions League win over the Gunners.

Hill-Wood insisted Barcelona had given an assurance it was not interested in signing Fabregas and also claimed the Spanish midfielder would not get into the European champions’ team anyway.

But the Catalan club denied brokering a deal with Arsenal not to try and bring Fabregas back to the Nou Camp, once again raising the possibility of a big-money bid – and forcing Wenger to issue another hands-off warning.

“We have not been in contact with Barcelona,” Wenger said.

“There is an official dinner before every Champions League game but there have been no secret meetings. I don’t want to sell any of our players.

“We want to keep this team together. I can’t understand the persistent campaign to get English players to Spain.”

Barcelona has held a long-standing interest in Fabregas, who quit the Spanish club in September 2003 after being offered more first-team opportunities at Arsenal.

Outbreak of parvovirus in Townsville dogs

The RSPCA says hundreds of dogs at the Townsville shelter in north Queensland have been put down after an outbreak of parvovirus.

RSPCA spokesman Michael Beatty says 200 dogs have been destroyed and many more animals have been surrendered.

He says pet owners need to make sure their animals have been immunised to avoid the spread of disease in the region.

“Since the beginning of the year, there’s been over 200 that have had to be put to sleep,” he said.

“That includes up to 50 puppies that have come in contact with the parvovirus.

“So that’s another message to people to please, please make sure that your animals are inoculated.”

He says Townsville is one of the busiest shelters in the state and there is no signs of the pressure easing.

“There’s no doubt about that and sadly I guess for all the wrong reasons,” he said.

“But having said that there have been well over 340 animals re-homed out at Townsville which is terrific but it’s been very, very busy and sadly for all the wrong reasons.”

Mindy McCready threatens legal action to stop sex tape release

Washington, Mar 31 (ANI): Country music singer Mindy McCready is said to be thinking of taking legal action to stop an explicit sex tape of hers from being released by Vivid Entertainment.

McCready, 34, apparently is not aware of the production of the tape titled “Baseball Mistress”, and never gave permission for its release.

“We are not aware of the production or release of the alleged film that seems to have surfaced via various media reports,” Fox News quoted her attorney Adam Dread as saying in a statement.

“However, we can confirm that any illegally obtained property, and/or fabricated footage, and the release thereof, will be dealt with swiftly following proper legal procedure,” he stated.

However, Steven Hirsch, founder/co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment, isn’t concerned about a possible lawsuit surrounding “Baseball Mistress”.

“We acquired the McCready video awhile ago and feel comfortable with our legal position to distribute it. You really have to see it to believe it,” Hirsch stated.

“If Mindy wants to discuss the video, she should feel free to contact me,” he added. (ANI)

Koschitzke hit with four-game suspension

St Kilda big man Justin Koschitzke has been hit with a four-game suspension after being reported for engaging in rough conduct by the AFL match review panel.

Koschitzke was on Monday charged with a level three offence for his high bump on Sydney’s Nick Malceski at Sydney’s Olympic stadium on Saturday night, and his offence drew 476.02 demerit points.

The match review panel assessed the incident as reckless, of medium impact and high on Malceski’s body.

Koschitzke can reduce the penalty to 357.02 demerit points and a three-game suspension if he pleads guilty.

His team-mate Brendon Goddard also fell foul of the rules in round one, as he was reported for making negligent contact with a field umpire and was fined $1,200.

Goddard can reduce the sanction to $900 by pleading guilty.

Essendon breathed a sigh of relief as ruckman David Hille had his charging report against Geelong’s Jimmy Bartel withdrawn.

The panel ruled Hille made contact to Bartel’s body and shoulder while he had his eyes on the ball and was making a legitimate attempt to mark the ball.

Miscarriage misdiagnosis claims to be investigated

The Health Quality and Complaints Commission (HQCC) will investigate claims a pregnant woman was misdiagnosed at Bundaberg Hospital in south-east Queensland.

Yesterday, the Member for Burnett, Rob Messenger, told State Parliament the woman was told her stomach pain was a miscarriage, but later an ultrasound showed she was still pregnant.

Queensland Health district chief executive officer Kevin Hegarty apologised for the distress felt by the woman and her family.

He says Queensland Health is reviewing the woman’s treatment and a senior medical officer will contact her to discuss it further.

He also says Queensland Health has referred the matter to the HQCC.

The go-kart track caretaker was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital yesterday.

Police say the man underwent surgery last night and are yet to speak to him.

They say the incident occurred sometime between Sunday and Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Wodonga police.

Pak investigating BA terror suspect’s links with extremists

Lahore, Mar 15(ANI): The Pakistan Interior Ministry is investigating information provided by British intelligence officials on alleged terrorist Rajib Karim’s links with extremist networks in Pakistan.

Intelligence officials arrested Rajib Karim, who is of Bangladeshi origin and an IT expert, from the British Airways’ (BA) office in Newcastle last month.

According to reports, Karim’s computer allegedly contained encrypted files “showing” he was in contact with terrorists in Pakistan and Yemen.

The Interior Ministry has formed a special team of officials from two intelligence agencies and it is focussing on Karachi and Lahore, “where they have found some strong clues”, The Daily Times reports.

It is also believed that the investigating officers have started scrutinising the information recovered from Karim’s computer. (ANI)

Expert to address school asbestos fears

The Queensland Government says it will fly an occupational health and safety expert to Mackay next week to speak to more than 2,000 students and teachers who may have been exposed to asbestos.

Material in the roofs of 24 rooms at Mackay North High School, in the state’s north, was disturbed in September but was only this week discovered and cleared.

Concerns have also been raised after work at the Moranbah East Primary School.

Education Minister Geoff Wilson says all parents and staff will be notified of the expert’s availability.

“We’re encouraging staff and parents to contact the principals of the two schools to notify their interest and concern and he will be advising parents of the situation regarding the potential health of their children and whether or not particular further steps may need to be taken,” he said.
