MJ’s doc unlikely to face trial for two years

London, May 16 (ANI): Michael Jackson”s doctor is unlikely to go before a jury over the singer’s death until 2012, it has been revealed.

Huge delays in preparing the case against Conrad Murray mean he probably will not face trial over the singer’s death for two years.

Ed Chernoff, Murray”s lawyer, is fuming ‘many pages’ of documents collected by Los Angeles police have not been handed to the defence even though Murray was charged in February.

Proceedings could be drawn out even longer over problems with choosing a jury.

Chernoff fears his client will not get a fair hearing in LA.

The doctor is next due in court on June 14, but his lawyer says he will push that hearing back to September.

“We are looking at the trial starting in about two years in September. We”ve got a huge load-3,500 pages-of evidence to go through. And we have witnesses to speak to all over the world who have had contact with Jackson over the years. To properly defend Conrad it”s gonna take time to get all of our stuff together,” News of the World quoted Murray”s spokesman as saying. (ANI)

Tony Blair offered £250k to appear on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

London, May 3 (ANI): Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has been offered 250,000 pounds to appear on reality TV show ‘Dancing With the Stars’.

Executive producer of the American Strictly, Conrad Green, wants the British Labour politician to appear on the show.

“Tony, you”ve done everything you can do as PM, you”ve done your bit for the Middle East, now come and put some sequins on and have a real life,” The Mirror quoted Green as saying.

Green said that he would couple Blair with five-time US National Championship Dance winner Karina Smirnoff, a Ukrainian dancer.

“I think she would be very happy with him. Tony is very popular in the States and I think he may as well come out here and give it a try,” he said.

“Hopefully he might be able to squeeze it in between solving the Palestinian problem and all those other things he”s got on,” he added. (ANI)

Eldest sister says she helped raise Michael Jackson

New York, Apr 19 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s eldest sister Rebbie has revealed that she helped raise her superstar brother.

When she was a teenager, her mother, Katherine, went back to school, leaving her — the oldest of the nine children — in charge of caring for the Jackson brood.

“I’m very much the big sister. I helped raise a lot of them. I took care of them and administered the disciplinary action,” the New York Post quoted Jackson as saying.

Rebbie revealed that memories of her role as caregiver in the family’s Gary, Ind., home came flooding back to her in the wake of the King of Pop’s death on June 25, 2009.

“When he passed, I thought about him the way he was as a kid,” she said.

She recalled the iconic star’s cherubic smile that first brightened stages as a member of the Jackson 5 and later as a solo artist.

After her brother overdosed on the powerful sedative Propofol, Rebbie, who lives with her husband, Nathaniel Brown, in Las Vegas, cancelled a string of performances.

She spent two and half months in California at her brother’s and mother’s estates, comforting her family and resumed her role as caregiver to Michael’s children, Prince, 13; Paris, 12; and Blanket, 8.

“I have to say, for a while, it was very difficult to listen to anything that Michael’s voice was on. That’s pretty tough to escape. Everywhere you go — food markets, departments stores, TV and radio — they are playing his music,” she said.

And now, almost after a year, Rebbie has said that she still wakes up in the middle of the night haunted by the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death.

His doctor, Conrad Murray, currently awaits trial on manslaughter charges for his role in administering the fatal narcotic and facilitating the legendary singer’s addiction.

“My brother had a problem with drugs, and he was in denial. There were many interventions by the family members, and I was involved in a lot of that. It was such a sad thing and it hurt so bad,” said Rebbie. (ANI)

MJ’s home search reveals ‘skin-whitening cream”

Melbourne, March 27 (ANI): Officials combing Michael Jackson’s home after his death were said to have stumbled on skin-whitening creams.

Several skin-whitening tubes and medical items, including four bottles of anesthetic, were found in a cupboard in the star’s room, according to released search warrants.

The documents were unveiled following a legal motion, News.com.au reported.

Jackson died aged 50 on June 25 last year at his home in Los Angeles. The coroner ruled the case as homicide mainly caused by an overdose of the anesthetic Propofol.

His personal doctor Conrad Murray admitted administering Propofol to help Jackson sleep hours before his death but said he gave him nothing to cause his death.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to the single charge of involuntary manslaughter over the singer’s death. (ANI)

Jackson doctor faces licence suspension

California’s attorney-general has asked the Los Angeles Supreme Court to suspend the medical licence of Michael Jackson’s doctor, who last month pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Edmund Brown said in a statement that his office had filed documents to the court to suspend Conrad Murray’s licence on behalf of the California Medical Board “until the criminal proceedings against him are completed”.

Dr Murray “administered a lethal dose of propofol, as well as other drugs to Michael Jackson”, Mr Brown said in his filing.

“We will argue in court that Murray was reckless in giving Jackson such a dangerous drug and has demonstrated a serious lack of judgment that should prohibit him from practicing medicine.”

Dr Murray, 56, denied last month a single charge of causing the death of Jackson on June 25 last year. He was the last person to see the King of Pop alive.

The physician was ordered to surrender his passport and posted bail of $US75,000 ahead of a hearing on April 5.

He could face up to four years in prison if convicted.

Tito Jackson forgives MJ’s personal doctor Conrad Murray

London, Sep 16 (ANI): American singer Tito Jackson has revealed that he has forgiven his late brother Michael Jackson’s personal doctor Conrad Murray, the prime suspect in the ‘Thriller’ star’s death.

Jacko’s death on June 25, at the age of 50, has been officially declared a homicide.

However, Tito, 55, says that he does not hate the doctor.

“Have I forgiven him? We are supposed to forgive as humans,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

“I’m not a hater or anything like that. I’m just going to take things one moment at a time.

“I’m supposed to forgive. We are supposed to forgive. That’s just my belief.

“So yes, I forgive. It’s what God said. You’re supposed to forgive. It’s a religious thing,” he added.

Jackson died from an overdose of the powerful anaesthetic Propofol.

Dr. Murray admitted administering a dose shortly before the star’s death at his Bel Air home. (ANI)

Hefner says he remained married for kids’ sake

London, September 15 (ANI): Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner has said that he postponed his divorce from his estranged second wife for the sake of their children.

The 83-year-old filed for divorce earlier this month, after an 11-year separation from former Playmate of the Year Kimberly Conrad Hefner.

Hefner, presently dating Playmates Crystal Harris, 23, and twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon, 19, said that he waited “because of the children” – his youngest son Cooper turned 18 on September 4.

“Now is the time. I stayed married not because it was a marriage – the marriage ended in 1998. I stayed because she wanted me to,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

The two got married in 1989, and separated nine years later.

They, however, remained legally wed.

Conrad, 47, is the mother of two of Hefner’s four kids, and had for years been supported by him in a home next to the Playboy mansion. (ANI)

MJ inquiry could take months

London, August 27 (ANI): Officials probing Michael Jackson’s death have reportedly said that it could take months before an arrest could be made in the case.

Jackson’s personal physician Conrad Murray and other doctors are being investigated by police over their role in the star’s death, which is being treated as homicide.

“We’re looking at months before we make any arrests. We want to build a concrete case,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

Murray, who is at the centre of a manslaughter probe, could be charged after the Los Angeles Coroner allegedly ruled that the singer’s death was homicide and that he had lethal levels of powerful anaesthetic Propofol in his body when he died.

Murray, who told homicide detectives he gave Jackson 25mg of propofol to help him sleep before he suffered cardiac arrest, has denied any wrongdoing. (ANI)

MJ’s doc spent 47 mins making calls after he stopped breathing

London, August 26 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s personal physician Conrad Murray has been accused of spending 47 minutes making calls to another doctor, a lawyer and a mystery associate after the singer stopped breathing.

Dr Steven Hoefflin, who treated Jackson for 25 years, alleged Murray phoned fellow medic Arnold Klein for advice on what to do as the King of Pop lay dying.

“Murray definitely called Klein because Klein taught him how to administer propofol,” the Sun quoted Hoefflin as saying.

“There were two in-state calls then one out-of-state. He was calling an attorney – he had to because Michael was dead.

“He tried to cover it up by telling everyone Michael had a weak pulse, but Michael was dead,” he added.

Hoefflin, a respected plastic surgeon, also claimed that Murray rang an attorney before informing a security guard to dial 911 and summon paramedics to Jackson’s Los Angeles home.

But a lawyer representing Murray recently denied claims that the medic left Jackson to make phone calls after giving him powerful anaesthetic Propofol.

Lawyer Ed Chernoff issued a statement seeking to clarify parts of a court affidavit unsealed in Houston, Texas.

The contents came to light as reports claimed that the Los Angeles County coroner had concluded Jackson’s death was homicide and that he had lethal levels of Propofol in his body when he died on June 25. (ANI)

MJ’s doctor denies leaving star to make phone calls

London, August 25 (ANI): The lawyer representing Michael Jackson’s personal physician Conrad Murray has denied that the medic left the star to make phone calls after giving him powerful anaesthetic Propofol.

Ed Chernoff sough to clarify allegations partially made after the emergence of a court affidavit in Houston, Texas.

The contents came to light as reports claimed that the Los Angeles County coroner had concluded that Jackson’s death was homicide, and that he had lethal levels of Propofol in his body when he died on June 25.

Murray was alleged to have left the singer alone to make some telephone calls, and found Jackson not breathing after his return.

But Chernoff slammed the claims involving Murray, who is at the centre of a manslaughter probe and has denied any wrongdoing. Much of what was in the search warrant affidavit is factual,” the Telegraph quoted Chernoff as saying.

“However, unfortunately, much is police theory. Most egregiously, the timeline reported by law enforcement was not obtained through interviews with Dr Murray, as was implied by the affidavit.

“Dr Murray simply never told investigators that he found Michael Jackson at 11:00 am not breathing. He also never said that he waited a mere 10 minutes before leaving to make several phone calls. In fact, Dr Murray never said that he left Michael Jackson’s room to make phone calls at all,” he added. (ANI)

Lauren Conrad gets bikini shape back after losing her ‘boyfriend layer’

New York, Aug 20 (ANI): American actress Lauren Conrad has revealed that she got back her bikini shape body only after she lost all the pounds she had put on during romantic dinners out with boyfriend actor Kyle Howard.

Conrad, 23, admits in Shape magazine that she got a little “soft around the middle” early in her romance with Howard, 31.

“I call it the ‘boyfriend layer’,” the New York Daily News quoted her as saying.

“We were having more romantic dinners out, and I was exercising less,” she said.

The actress also reveals in the issue, which features her on its cover and which will be out in September, how she lost her pounds.

“I just ask Kyle, ‘You feel like working out?’” she said.

“We like doing outdoor stuff: tennis, bike riding, kayaking, surfing, hiking. It’s more fun than hitting the gym alone,” she added. (ANI)

MJ’s mum plans to sue his gig promoters

London, August 19 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s mother is reportedly planning to file a lawsuit against the concert promoters of her late son, believing them to be responsible for her son’s death.

Katherine Jackson apparently thinks the music legend was killed by the pressure to perform for the 50-show run in London.

She may also sue the singer’s personal physician Conrad Murray, who is the focus of a manslaughter probe, after he admitted administering the sedative Propofol via an IV drip to help the King of Pop sleep.

“The possibility of a wrongful death action has been floated,” the Daily Star quoted family lawyer Burt Levitch as saying.

“Dr Murray’s name has been floated because he is under investigation,” he added.

A spokesman for concert promoters AEG said: “It would be inappropriate to speculate on any potential litigation.” (ANI)

Jackson’s doctor loved posing bare-chested with scantily clad girls

London, July 6 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray, who is at the centre of the probe into the superstar’s death, knew how to party hard and even posed bare-chested with scantily clad girls while promoting an energy-drink.

It has emerged that Murray, who was allegedly with the King of Pop at the time of his death, cavorted with the models on a jaunt to Trinidad and Tobago.

His companions on the trip have revealed that he loved to “party hard”, boozing with sozzled stunners into the early hours.

And newly released pictures show the 56-year-old doctor cuddling girls less than half his age. He certainly knew how to party,” the Sun quoted promotions girl Maggie Goldstein, 34, as saying.

Maggi apparently took a string of snaps of the doctor at play on the island.

“He joined a promotional group on the island plugging a new high-energy drink called Pit Bull which I think he’d invested in,” she said.

“And he showed he had plenty of high-energy while he was there. There were about ten models and pro-motions girls who’d been recruited in Las Vegas.

“He had a ball with them. He was up into the early hours drinking and having fun and took a particular shine to one called Tracy who was at least 20 years younger than him.

“He loved posing bare-chested with the girls,” she added.

Murray has hired high-powered lawyers to refute suggestions that he was in any way to blame for the death of 50-year-old ‘Thriller’ star.

Maggie said: “I recognised him straight away when pictures appeared of Michael Jackson’s doctor. I had no idea he was supposed to be a top heart specialist – I just thought he was an old guy with an eye for the ladies.” (ANI)

‘Jacko’s doc couldn’t find working phone for 30 minutes while he was dying’

New York, June 30 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s controversial personal doctor, Conrad Murray, tried to find working phone for 30 minutes to call 911 as the superstar lay dying in his Bel Air mansion, one of the doctor’s lawyers revealed.

Due to “privacy reasons” landlines in the rented mansion were all shut, and Murray didn’t use his cell phone to get help because he didn’t know Jackson’s address, the lawyer said.

Murray called for security, but no one answered. Finally the doctor had to run downstairs to get a chef to summon help for the dying King of Pop.

“This entire time, with the exception of him running downstairs, he was performing CPR on Michael Jackson,” Edward Chernoff, the lawyer, told CNN.

Although, it wasn’t clear whether the phone scene contributed to Jackson’s death, but every moment is critical when reviving a patient in cardiac arrest like Jackson, reports The New York Daily News.

Paramedics raced to the home and tried to resuscitate the 50-year-old superstar.

They then took him to UCLA Medical Center, where doctors spent another hour in a futile effort to keep him alive. (ANI)

Jackson’s son saw him collapse

Washington, June 29 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s son was with the singer when he collapsed, and thought his father was just “clowning around”, according to a family friend.

Jackson biographer Stacy Brown alleged ‘Prince’ Michael Jackson Jr. witnessed his father hit the ground in the living room of their rented California home.

The author claimed the 12-year-old stood as a silent spectator, while his father’s doctor Conrad Murray made frantic attempts to save the King of Pop.

“The horror of it all is that Prince thought this dad was just being his dad and clowning, but it was real and he watched as they worked on him,” Contactmusic quoted him as having told the New York Post.

“Prince was stunned – in a trance – just watching,” he added.

The thriller was pronounced dead three hours later at Los Angeles’s UCLA Medical Center.

He is believed to have suffered an apparent cardiac arrest, but medical examiners are yet to determine the cause of his death. (ANI)

Jackson’s family ‘wants second autopsy’

London, June 28 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s relatives want a private autopsy of the star because they still have unanswered questions about his death, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said.

The veteran politician, who has been counselling the family, said they were upset the official cause of death might not be known for weeks.

He said the family wanted answers from the star’s personal doctor, Conrad Murray, who was with him when he died, reports The BBC.

Los Angeles County medical examiners completed an autopsy Friday and said Jackson had taken prescription medication.

Medical officials also said there was no indication of trauma or foul play. An official cause of death could take weeks.

In a statement issued by his father Joseph Jackson, the star’s relatives called it “one of the darkest moments of our lives”.

“It leaves us, his family, speechless and devastated to a point where communication with the outside world seems almost impossible at times,” the statement said. (ANI)
