Gwyneth Paltrow gives cold shoulder to Scarlett Johannson on ‘Iron Man 2′ set

Washington, Aug 18 (ANI): Gwyneth Paltrow was reportedly far from friendly on the sets of ‘Iron Man 2′, and clearly snubbed her co-star Scarlett Johansson and members of the production crew.

According to a source, some crew members said that Gwyneth, who plays Pepper Potts in the film, did nothing to make friends with Scarlett, playing the Black Widow.

And the crew actually preferred to be around her husband, Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin.

“Gwyneth is extremely cool at work. She’s just a step above professional, too snobby,” Fox News quoted the on-set source as saying.

The source added: “Gwyneth is not friendly to anyone, and tends to make people feel awkward and uncomfortable. She wasn’t outright rude to Scarlett, she just didn’t ever speak to her. Gwyneth went out of her way to avoid Scarlett, and they had zero contact, at Gwyneth’s choosing.”

In fact, the actress was not even warm with the hair and makeup staff and other members of the crew.

“Gwyneth would be very put out if hair and makeup were running behind or things were not on schedule. Usually, nothing was drastically late, but Gwyneth can instantly say something that lets everyone know she is put out,” the source said.

“Much of the crew didn’t mind hanging out with her husband, Chris, but if Gwyneth ever came around, they scattered! Chris is so chill and relaxed and she is just the opposite. Chris has been a crew favourite since the filming of the first movie,” the source added. (ANI)

Johnny Depp wants to retire as an old man with a beer belly

New Delhi, May 25 (ANI): Johnny Depp knows what he wants to do after retiring from his acting career, and that is to grow some grey hair and a beer belly.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star said that he was looking forward to soaking up the sun with couple of pints in hand, reports the China Daily.

The 45-year-old said: “I just want to become a traditional old man with a beer belly. I’d like to be sitting on the veranda of our place in France, just staring out over the lawns.”

The Hollywood heartthrob is not the only one thinking about expanding his stomach, for Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin too has his fears of the “Belly Day”.

“I feel like you’ve got to write as many songs as you can between the ages of 28 and 33 because those are your last few years before you get a belly,” he said.

“I couldn’t possibly write a hit record when I’ve got a beer belly, so we’re just going to try to write as many songs as possible before that D-Day, or B-Day it should be – for Belly Day!” he added. (ANI)

Frontman Martin, who has previously disputed the claim, said on the band’s website that the court case was instead driving him to produce finer tunes.

“Some people are suing us at the moment and although it was initially a bit depressing, now it’s become really inspiring,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“You think, ‘Right, if everyone’s trying to take away our best song, then we’d better write 25 better ones.’

“And so just at the point where I was thinking about getting fat and becoming complacent, I’ve been finding more inspiration. Now we’ve got more to prove than ever before,” he added. (ANI)

Will Champion baffled by plagiarism accusations against Coldplay

Washington, May 11 (ANI): ‘Coldplay’ drummer Will Champion has revealed that the allegations that his band has stolen melodies from guitarist Joe Satriani and Yusuf Islam have left him baffled.

He emphasizes that the band have not stolen any melodies, and that he finds it unbelievable that Joe and Yusuf are actually contemplating taking a legal action against Coldplay.

“It’s tough when people accuse you of stealing something when you know that you didn’t, Contactmusic quoted Will as telling Hampton Roads.com.

Will further said that the fact that always hit songs were dragged into controversies baffled him even more.

“We accept that it’s part of the territory and know it is only for some reason, God only knows why, the successful songs that seem to be the ones that are accused of being stolen,” he said.

“There are elements of our music that I’ve heard in other people’s music… There are only eight notes in an octave and no one owns them. And there are probably about 12,000 songs that feature the exact same chord progression,” he added.

Joe Satriani recently claimed that the band’s ‘Viva la Vida’ hit ripped off his ‘If I Could Fly’, while Yusuf Islam declared Coldplay used his 1973 song Foreigner Suite for inspiration. (ANI)
