Massive changes needed in US’s Afghan-Pak policy : CSIS

Lahore, Feb.22 (ANI): US strategists feel that Washington’s policy regarding Pakistan and Afghanistan needs massive overhaul if it wants to establish peace in the troubled region, and succeed in its objectives.

According to a report prepared by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the US has to deal with three major ‘policy challenges’.

The first section of the report, ‘Policy Challenges’, deals with formulating and implementing an integrated strategy across US government agencies with both international and local partners, The Daily Times said.

It also emphasizes on understanding the ground realities in both the countries, especially in ‘ungoverned’ spaces.

The report also asks for full participation of the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan in the policy making process.

“The people of Afghanistan and Pakistan must believe they would be safer if the Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are defeated,” the report said.

“Success can be achieved with a clear direction and goals, the assumption of responsibility by all parties, and regular and open information flow directly to all parties concerned,” it concluded.

The report was compiled by CSIS Post-Conflict Reconstruction Project co-directors Frederick Barton and Karin Von Hippel. (ANI)

Aniston topples Bundchen to top “Most Sought After Female Figure” list

Washington, Jan 29 (ANI): Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen is no longer at the top of the 12th Annual “Famed Hottest Looks” list for the most sought after body.

Beverly Hills plastic surgeons and co-directors of The Beverly Hills Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Richard W. Fleming, M.D. and Toby G. Mayer, M.D had compiled the list.

Surveying the number of surgery seekers, it emerged that Jennifer Aniston made the top of the list for the most desired female figure, followed by Gisele Bundchen and Jessica Biel.

Angelina Jolie scored the highest where lips were concerned, with Anne Hathaway and Rosario Dawson following her.

“Usually we find that whatever star is in all the magazines and in the public eye a lot becomes the most popular,” Fox News quoted Mayer as saying.

“But if someone doesn’t have a big movie or is away from the spotlight for awhile, they will drop off the list,” he added.

Natural complexions like the ones Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet and Katie Holmes sport were last year’s most sought-after.

“Our patients continue to turn to Hollywood to determine their standard of beauty,” explained Fleming.

“Our patients want to look rested, energetic and, most of all, youthful like the celebrities they see on TV and in glossy magazines,” he added. (ANI)
