Montgomerie fighting to save marriage after cheating wife

London, Jun 4 (ANI): Ryder Cup captain and golf superstar Colin Montgomerie is fighting to save his marriage after confessing that he had been having a secret affair with his ex-lover Joanne Baldwin.

Montgomerie’s two-year marriage is in trouble though he has ended his affair so that his wife Gaynor stays with him, The Mirror reports.

“I have put my marriage under considerable strain, but we are working through these problems. I am very sorry for the hurt I have caused to the ones I love so much.

“I would ask that my family and I are given the space and privacy to continue trying to resolve the issues. I will be making no further comment,” Montgomerie said in a statement.

The golf superstar first fell for former neighbour Joanne, 50, after his marriage to Eimear Wilson broke down in 2004, The Mirror reports.

The romance with Joanne finally collapsed in April 2006 after the golfer was spotted sharing romantic dinner dates with Scottish TV presenter Alison Walker.

Soon afterwards Montgomerie met Gaynor, who inherited 20 million pounds in 2003 when her first husband, furniture tycoon George Knowles, died while on holiday in Mallorca.

They wed in April 2008. The couple has seven children between them and lives in a nine-bed Perthshire mansion.

A source close to Joanne said: “She kept in touch after they split up and made it clear she would always be there for Colin.”

Joanne told The Mirror: “I’m very sorry if his marriage is in trouble, but it’s nothing to do with me.” (ANI)

London, May 21 (ANI): Boyzone star Ronan Keating’s marriage is said to be on the rocks – his wife Yvonne has reportedly thrown him out of the house accusing him of cheating on her.

The former model, 36, ordered the singer to leave their Dublin home after a late-night showdown.

The news comes months after the tragic death of the Boyzone star’s close friend and band member, Stephen Gately.

“Ronan left home on Monday after Yvonne asked him to leave. There was lots of arguing again on Tuesday over everything from rumours about other women to his upcoming work in Australia and they decided to split,” The Sun quoted a band source as saying.

“Telling the kids was heartbreaking. They were both just devastated and never thought it would happen. Custody and things like that have not been talked about yet, it”s just too raw,” the source added. (ANI)

Edwards’ cheating ways made his wife sick to her stomach

New York, Apr.30 (ANI): After the former presidential hopeful John Edwards confessed to having an affair, his wife Elizabeth Edwards writes in her new book, “I cried and screamed, I went to the bathroom and threw up.”

Elizabeth, 59, who is terminally ill with cancer, speaks in far more detail than before about her husband’s infidelity in her new memoir, “Resilience,” due to be published May 12 by Broadway Books.

Despite feeling deeply deceived, Elizabeth Edwards nonetheless publicly stood by her husband’s side, lending his candidacy the aura of a warm, loving family life, reports the Daily News.

But she had actually wanted him to quit the race to protect the family.

Edwards admitted the hanky-panky to her days after declaring his candidacy in 2006 – almost a year before the National Enquirer reported it.

She was afraid of the destructive questions Edwards’ affair with videographer Rielle Hunter would raise.

Later events proved her right. “He should not have run,” she says.

Edwards did not publicly admit the affair until last August – seven months after he quit the race, and the National Enquirer had reported he was the father of Hunter’s infant daughter.

Edwards denied paternity, and his wife’s book doesn’t address that issue.

She lashes out at Hunter, now 45, whose name she never actually uses in the book, as a parasitic groupie who invaded the Edwardses’ life.

Her own life may be tragic, she concludes, but Hunter’s is “pathetic.”

While Elizabeth still hasn’t fully come to terms with her man’s roaming, the memoir is laced with a powerful dose of forgiveness. (ANI)

Bruce Springsteen denies cheating on wife

Washington, April 10 (ANI): Bruce Springsteen has denied cheating on his wife Patti Scialfa with a woman whose marriage is now headed for divorce.

In divorce papers filed at Monmouth County, N.J. on March 27, Arthur J. Kelly has accused his wife of 17 years, Ann. C. Kelly, of ‘committing adultery with Springsteen, who resides in Rumson, N.J. and Colts Neck, N.J. at various times and places too numerous to mention.’

However, a rep for Springsteen said that the singer, 59, stands by a statement he released in August 2006 – when reports surfaced that he was involved in another alleged affair – which says his commitment to Scialfa “remains as strong as the day we were married,” reports People.

“I hesitate to use this Web site for anything personal believing it should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job,” Springsteen wrote on his Web site at the time.

“However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumours that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn’t pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years – the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married,” he added. (ANI)
