Amy Winehouse’s surprise charity gig

London, September 18 (ANI): Amy Winehouse recently did a surprise gig at a charity fundraiser for terminally ill children.

The guests present for dinner at Rays Of Sunshine in Wrotham Park, close to her Barnet home, received a pleasant surprise when she appeared out of nowhere for a five-song set.

Meanwhile, reports have come that the troubled singer has been spending hours talking to her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil on the net.

“They are non-stop emailing at the moment,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

The couple had divorced earlier this year. (ANI)

‘Best Job in The World’ winner has small mishap on first day

Melbourne, Jul 2 (ANI): ‘Best Job in The World’ winner Ben Southall and his girlfriend Breanna Watkins had a bit of a mishap on the first day on the job.

Southall’s first task as “caretaker” of the islands of the Great Barrier Reef was a visit with a large media pack to the jewel of the Whitsundays, Whitehaven Beach.

The 34-year-old charity fundraiser from Hampshire in the UK and his 22-year-old girlfriend frolicked in the water, drew pictures in the sand, and strolled along the beach doing interviews with national and international film crews.

The mishap occurred when Watkins, a former professional Canadian gymnast, agreed to do some cartwheels on the beach.ut, unfortunately, she landed awkwardly on the firm sloping sand at the water’s edge, and badly jarred her right foot.

Watkins, who had to spend the rest of the visit with Southall carrying her around, said that she had simply misjudged her landing on the slope.

“It is a little bit of an angle and I hit harder than I was planning, so it was a little bit stupid on my part,” the Age quoted her as saying.

“I got too excited, but I’m okay,” she said.

Southall, who was picked from 34,000 entrants as the winner of Tourism Queensland’s Best Job in the World on Hamilton Island, said that apart from that mishap, it was a stunning start to his new job.

“I’ve got to do this every day for six months. It’s so warm, there’s beautiful sand and I’ve got my girl here with me,” he said.Life is pretty sweet,” he added. (ANI)

Liz Hurley at her ‘busty’ best at London charity bash

London, May 15 (ANI): Liz Hurley flaunted her sultry self in a cleavage-enhancing dress at a charity fundraiser.

The 43-year-old actress dazzled at the event organised by billionaire John Caudwell, in aid of his charity the Caudwell Children, to raise thousands of pounds for disabled kids.

She was joined by the likes of Penny Lancaster, Liz McLarnon, Rachel Stevens and Emma Noble at the Butterfly Ball in Battersea Park.

“The Butterfly Ball is our flagship fundraising event and we are delighted so many guests have agreed to support us once again,” the Sun quoted Caudwell as saying before the bash. (ANI)

UK finalist bags ‘World’s Best Job’

Melbourne, May 6 (ANI): UK finalist Ben Southall has won the World’s Best Job competition, organised by Tourism Queensland.

TQ’s official website congratulated the champ in a formal announcement made at Hamilton Island resort.

The 34-year-old will begin his job as caretaker of the Great Barrier Reef Islands on July 1, reports the Courier Mail.

Ben, an events organiser from Hampshire, will shake hands with the 150,000 dollars six-month stint for exploring neighbouring islands, swim, snorkel, discover wildlife, and the locals.

Ben credited other 15 final contestants saying each one of them “had been an absolute winner – it is an extreme honour and I hope I will live up to the role”.

The charity fundraiser will explore the region, and reveal his experiences through Internet blogs and other media channels. (ANI)
