AUSTIN, Texas–(Business Wire)–
FieldPoint Petroleum Corporation (NYSE/AMEX : FPP) a annoncé aujourd`hui avoir

One more mistake will wreck McLaren’s title bid, warns Button

London, May 20 (ANI): Formula One champion Jenson Button, who is trailing this year in drivers competition, has warned that his team’s one more mistake will wreck their title bid.

The Formula One champ has followed teammate Lewis Hamilton in urging McLaren to sort things out.

Button slumped from first to fourth in the standings when a mechanic left a cooling bung in his side pod as he went to the grid in Monaco, causing his engine to blow early in the race.

“Lewis and I have failed to finish in one race. The whole team has got to make sure that’s the only time this year we fail to score points,” The Sun quoted Button, as saying.

“I think we’ve seen all the top teams make small mistakes so far this year. But those small errors can sometimes have bigger consequences,” he added. (ANI)

Button hopes to repeat Monaco Grand Prix glory

London, May 12 (ANI): Jenson Button recalls the time when he had to jog 300 metres, up to the Prince of Monaco to receive his Monaco F1 trophy.

After describing the winning of the Grand Prix as his most embarrassing moment, he doesn’t mind reliving it.

“It”s going to stay in my mind forever, running up to Prince Albert of Monaco and saying, ”I”m sorry I parked in the wrong place”,” The Sun quoted the F1 champ as saying.

Describing how the Monaco win had a special place in his heart, Button said, “As he handed me the trophy and I lifted it above my head, it really dawned on me what I had achieved.

“To hammer a car around that Monaco circuit, in between those walls, the armco barriers – it”s like driving a go-kart round your living room!

“Every lap gets more and more difficult because the barriers seem to get closer and closer. Mentally it is so, so draining.

“It”s such a special race. I think every driver will agree with me that it”s the first race you would love to win in a Formula One car,” he said nostalgically. (ANI)

Spanish Grand Prix tyre burst nixes Hamilton”s F-One champion hopes

London, May 10 (ANI): Lewis Hamilton”s bid for the Formula One title this year suffered a huge blow when he crashed out of the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday.

The 2008 champ looked set for a superb second place when the left front tyre of his car burst six miles from the home stretch in Barcelona.

“I was just cruising to the finish line. I don”t know what happened, but just felt something go. I got a bit around the third corner and was thinking maybe I could nurse it back but then the tyre blew and it was impossible,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.

“I couldn”t believe it – and there was nothing I could do to stop. It happened so fast and I was off into the wall. It”s my third or fourth tyre blowout in my career. More than most have in their whole lifetime,” he added.

He said: “It would have been great points for me. I would have been right back in the championship battle.” (ANI)

Champ Robertson not snookered by nerves

The father of newly-crowned world snooker champion Neil Robertson says his son’s ability to remain calm was a key to his success in the final in England.

Robertson became the first Australian since 1952 to win the sport’s top prize, claiming the final 18-13 at the Crucible theatre in Sheffield, England this morning.

The 28-year-old from Melbourne also becomes only the third champion from outside the British Isles, and the first since Canada’s Cliff Thorburn in 1980.

Ian Robertson told Grandstand his son never had any trouble with nerves.

“His anxiety was too low and until the matches were in the balance, he wouldn’t step up a couple of gears,” he said.

“So consequently when he went to England and had all this pressure, he got to the right anxiety level.

“If you think of footballers who get what you call ‘white line fever’, they probably wouldn’t suit this sort of game where you’ve got too much adrenaline.

“You have to be calm like shooters in the Olympics. Your heart rate needs to be reasonably steady otherwise you get that rush of blood and it becomes overwhelming.”

He said Neil’s physiological advantage can help him reach the bigger goals he has set for himself.

“[His anxiety levels have] been a bit too low, but it’s working out well once he’s in difficult circumstances when the pressure’s enormous,” he said.

“We felt that for him to reach number one in the world was a bigger achievement than winning the world title, because you have to be consistent through all the titles.”

Nurtured talent

Ian Robertson said the sport was a way that he and his sons could spend time together after Neil’s parents divorced many years ago.

“We used to go play snooker, football and so on,” he said.

“He showed that he liked it … so I bought a pool hall, and within a year him and his brother won the Victorian under-12 and under-15 snooker titles.”

Upon winning the championship, Neil said he hoped his victory will help the game grow in Australia.

His father said like more physical pursuits, snooker is a game that requires dedication to practice.

“They’ve got to enjoy potting balls for a start and they’ve got to enjoy the game,” he said.

“Once [Neil] started winning titles, he set larger goals to compete against boys his own age across the world.

“Five hours a day, five days a week for five years [of practice] is a good starting point, and then you really start learning how to play.”

Ian said despite the enormity of his son’s victory, Neil had quickly turned his mind to a contest that will be more familiar to Australians than snooker.

“We talked about football – Collingwood, about the game coming up, the Carlton-Collingwood game,” he said.

“We don’t always talk about snooker. He loves his sport, he follows Chelsea in the Premier League over there, he loves cricket too.”

Federer still feels Nadal is still the clay champ he wants to beat

Rome, Apr.27 (ANI): Despite his victory in last year”s French Open, World No 1 Roger Federer believes ”tearaway” Spaniard Rafael Nadal remains the one clay court champion to beat.

When Federer goes to the Roland Garros next month, he believes the favourite to lift the Coupe des Mousquetaires will be a rival who has just won his first tournament for 11 months.

Federer says he has always held Rafael Nadal in the highest respect and believes the Spaniard is rapidly putting his recent difficulties behind him.

“The guy”s been on an absolute tearaway on clay for pretty much the last five years,” The Independent quoted Federer, as saying.

“He”s hardly lost any matches on clay and he”s only lost one match at the French Open, so I would think he”s still the favourite. I would love to say I”m the big favourite, but I don”t think that”s quite right, even though I won the French Open last year,” he added.

“He (Nadal) just hasn”t lost to anyone on clay outside of the top five or top 10 players – and he”s just proved again in Monaco how tough he is,” Federer said.

Meanwhile, Nadal is also doing his best to be match fit in the run-up to the next two Grand Slam tournaments.

As for the prospect of renewing an old rivalry with Federer, Nadal said: “It”s too early at the start of the tournament to think about Federer. I think for me and for Roger it would be a pleasure if we played each other in the semi-finals – just because it would be very good news to be in the semi-finals of a very tough tournament like Rome.” (ANI)

Mothers pass sadness, happiness to their unborn babies

London, Mar 17 (ANI): Besides food and oxygen, mothers also pass fleeting sadness or happiness to their unborn babies, claims a study.

To reach the conclusion, Kazuyuki Shinohara and colleagues at Nagasaki University in Japan showed 10 pregnant volunteers a cheery 5-minute clip from the musical The Sound of Music.

And another 14 watched an emotional 5-minute clip from The Champ, in which a boy cries at the death of his father. Each clip was sandwiched between two “neutral” samples so that the team could measure any changes in fetal movements against a baseline, reports New Scientist.

The participants were made to listen through headphones to ensure that only the effect of their emotions, not the sounds, were being measured.

“Fetuses can hear by the last trimester,” says Shinohara.

The team counted the number of arm, leg and whole body movements via ultrasound and found that during the happy film clip the unborn babies moved their arms significantly more than when the pregnant women watched the neutral clips.

However, the unborn babies of the women watching the sad clip moved their arms significantly less than normal.

Shinohara concluded that while it was unclear what makes the unborn child of a happy mother “wave,” he suggests that sadness releases more of the “fight or flight” hormone epinephrine (adrenalin), which redirects blood away from the uterus and prepares muscles for exertion.

The study has been published in the Journal of Physiological Sciences. (ANI)

Button’s former boss asks him to up his game to beat Hamilton

London, Mar 16 (ANI): Jenson Button’s former boss and managing director of Mercedes GP, Nick Fry, has warned the Formula One champ that he will have to up his game if he wants to beat McLaren teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Mercedes GP is the new incarnation of the Brawn squad that took Button to the title last year.

Following Button’s seventh place finish to Hamilton’s third in Bahrain, Fry said: “There’s clearly a gap that Jenson is going to have to close. It’s absolutely self-evident.”

“I’m sure he’ll be looking after the Bahrain weekend at what he can do about it. Lewis does have home team advantage at the moment but the longer Jenson stays with the team, the more that reason goes away,” The Sun quoted Fry, as saying.

“He’ll have to be looking at all the aspects of his own performance, not only how he drives but also the way he works with the team. Jenson will know all those things and he has got to work hard,” he said.

McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh feels Button will improve his performance at the next race in Australia.

Whitmarsh said: “I think in fairness Jenson was disappointed with his qualifying. And in the race he didn’t get clean air. He was quicker than the Mercedes of Michael Schumacher but couldn’t get past him, just as Lewis could not get past the other Mercedes of Nico Rosberg earlier on.” (ANI)

Stephanie Rice finally celebrating birthday with a bang today

Melbourne, Sep 19 (ANI): Australian swimming beauty Stephanie Rice is all set to celebrate her 21st birthday today-almost two months after her actual birthday-in a grand bash.

The Olympic star had to postpone festivities because of the world champ meet in Rome in July.

But, today, she will start her birthday celebrations at the Marriot Hotel, and roam across town with her gang in a giant luxury Hummer.

The party will swing over to Portside at Hamilton, where she will be cutting her birthday cake, reports the Courier Mail.

The swimmer celebrated her real birthday with a single piece of cake at a family do back on June 17.

According to reports, Rice has sold the rights to cover the bash to New Idea magazine. (ANI)

All Formula One teams are cheats, claims Irvine

London, Sep 18 (ANI): Ex-Ferrari driver Eddie Irvine has claimed that all Formula One teams are cheats.

Irvine says there has been an overreaction to the race-fixing charges being levelled at the Renault team.

He admitted the Crashgate scandal that cost Renault team chief Flavio Briatore and technical boss Pat Symonds their jobs had gone too far.

“F1 is a war and all is fair in war. When I was in various teams you would do anything to win. You pushed people off, you did whatever you could do to win,” he said.

“This is probably slightly on the wrong side of the cheating thing, but in F1 – if you look back at days gone past – then every team has done it. They will cheat, bend the rules, do whatever they could, sabotage opponents.

“Nothing was beyond the realms of decency and that is what F1 always is. It is not a pure sport,’ The Sun quoted Irvine, as saying.

The Renault team still has to appear before the World Motor Sport Council in Paris on Monday where they face a massive fine, race suspension or even being kicked out of the sport.

But Irvine reckons they could escape with a more lenient penalty amid fears that another team is about to leave the sport.

Irvine, who also raced for Jordan and Jaguar, added: “If you think that McLaren got a 100 million dollars fine for having some papers of the Ferrari team, what punishment is relevant here? It is complete banning. But I don’t believe that is going to happen as F1 cannot afford to lose more teams.”

Hamilton denies splitting with Scherzinger

London, September 14 (ANI): Lewis Hamilton has denied reports that he dumped his Pussycat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.

A recent report claimed that the Formula 1 ace had put an end to their two-year-old relationship, telling Scherzinger he was not prepared to settle down and have kids.

But the 24-year-old champ dismissed the story, insisting he still loves the 31-year-old singer, reports The Sun.

Asked after the race about the break-up rumour, the racer said: “That is bull****. We are still together.”

Hamilton, estimated to be worth 75 million pounds, spun off the track on the final lap of the Italian Grand Prix. He finished in 12th place. (ANI)

Billiards champ Advani returns home after winning IBSF title

Bangalore, Sep 8 (ANI): World Billiards champion Pankaj Advani arrived here on Tuesday morning after pulling off a surprise win over nine-time winner Mike Russell in the final of the world championships in Leeds, UK.

On Sunday night, the 24-year-old Advani scripted a brilliant 2030-1253 win over Russell to win his maiden World Professional Billiards title at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds.

Former champions hailed Pankaj’s feat of becoming the second Indian cueist to clinch the world professional billiards crown in its 139-year history.

Advani has become the second Indian after Geet Sethi, to win the coveted title

After the win Pankaj said that the win is yet to sink in.

With this triumph, Advani has ensured that he has won all major billiards world titles. (ANI)

Hamilton says he can still take the F-I title

London, Sep.4 (ANI): Lewis Hamilton says he has not given up hope of retaining his F1 title – even if people think he is crazy.

The reigning champ is a massive 45 points behind fellow Brit and championship leader Jenson Button, with just 50 to play for.

“I know it sounds crazy but I’m not going to put the title out of my mind until it’s mathematically impossible. I’ll still be going for it, trying to get every single point I can. We can keep attacking and the last five races should be good for us,” The Sun quoted 24-year-old Hamilton, as saying.

Meanwhile, Giancarlo Fisichella has been released by Force India to join Ferrari for the remaining races – and is set for the reserve driver role next year.

The Italian, 36, who scored Force India’s first points by finishing second at the Belgian GP last Sunday, replaces countryman Luca Badoer.

Ferrari moved for Fisichella after it was confirmed Felipe Massa would not be back until next season following his horror crash in Hungary. (ANI)

Joe Frazier thinks Wesley Snipes will be ‘good fit’ to portray his mentor

New York, September 3 (ANI): Former Olympic champion Joe Frazier may not be sure who should portray him a film on his life, but he does have some recommendation for the role of his uncle and mentor, Rock.

“Wesley Snipes would be a good fit,” the New York Post quoted him as saying.

Frazier is known for beating Muhammad Ali in their first bout, though he lost to the latter in twice later.

As regards any actors he would want to see portraying him in the film, the former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion said: “It would have to be someone that could accurately portray the struggles I went through to become heavyweight champ.” (ANI)

“They were having fun, dancing, and affectionate,” the New York Post quoted a witness as saying.

Other celebs present at the party were Rihanna, Robin Thicke, and Common’s co- star Queen Latifah.

Scot crowned double Wimbledon Champion at 75!

London, Aug.19 (ANI): A Scot has been crowned a double Wimbledon champion at the age of 75.

Veteran tennis player Jimmy Wood has scooped more titles than Andy Murray in his long career. And now he’s trumped the young upstart once again by being crowned the British Veteran singles and doubles champ at the world famous venue, reports The Scotsman.

Wood, a grandfather from Aberdeen, said: “Tennis is a sport you can play from the cradle to the grave. As I’m getting older I’m getting slower. I wouldn’t be any match for a Federer or a Murray.

“But I’m still fit, and competitive. I’ll never retire. I want to pop my clogs on the tennis court.” (ANI)

No sex ban for England cricket team

Cardiff (Wales), July 13 (ANI): England’s Ashes team has escaped a sex ban – as long as they stay off the booze.

The Daily Express quoted a team source as saying: “We’ve got no reason to believe sex affects performance, unlike a few too many beers. But if they do decide to have a few drinks, we may have to review the rules.”

Former party-loving England star Phil Tufnell reckons the players will only turn to booze if they win. In the past, stars like all-rounder Flintoff, 31, “got a bit carried away” while away on tour.

But Tuffers, 43, said: “An Ashes series in your own country is probably the biggest game of cricket you will ever play in, so I don’t think the boys will be going off drinking.”

Although no longer involved in the England set-up, Tuffers is doing his best to help his fellow countrymen in their battle against the Aussies.

The former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! champ has released a charity single, The Ashes Song, which sledges the men from Down Under.

Tuffers said: “If I can do my bit to help England, great.

I got sledged back in my day, so it’s nice to give a bit back.” (ANI)

Mitchell Johnson’s mum declares war on his ‘bitchy’ WAG!

Melbourne, Jul 8 (ANI): Aussie cricketer Mitchell Johnson’s mum Vikki Harber has lashed out at Cricket Australia for turning its back on parents in favour of flying over “bitchy” girlfriends to the games.

Harber, 45, also said that her once close relationship with her son has deteriorated ever since he started going out with his karate champ girlfriend Jessica Bratich.

“I get a text on Mother’s Day and a text on my birthday,” the Herald Sun quoted her as saying.

“The last time I actually spoke to him was when the beach cricket was here (and) Dennis Lillee told him he had to ring his mother, so Mitchell rang me that day.

“It has been like this since Jess came on the scene.

“Up until he met Jessica we were very close . . . but he hasn’t spent a night under my roof since he met Jessica,” she said.

Harber said that Cricket Australia had never offered her any opportunity to see her son play outside Brisbane.

“For the wives and the children I think it is great that they support them and send them over there, but who are these girlfriends? They are just girlfriends,” she said from Coolangatta.

“Mitch met Jess and since then she has flown off to South Africa, to England and the Bahamas. She gets all these trips, she gets flown there, accommodation, food and all of that,” she stated.

Johnson’s manager Sam Halvosen said that the bowler was aware of his mother’s comments, but did not want to discuss them.

And Kevin Johnson as backed his son, saying that partners on tour were “a good thing”.

“Like Jess said, they’re away for six months of the year so it’s a bit hard for them to be away from each other that whole time,” he added.

Cricket sources said that it was for the players to decide whom to invite on tour. (ANI)
