German twins to get special adoption treatment

New Delhi, Mar 17 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Central Adoption Resources Agency (CARA) to make exception in the German twins adoption case and permit their biological parents to adopt them, so that they can move freely to Germany.

The Central Adoption Resources Agency (CARA) was to submit report in the court today.

The apex court had earlier asked the agency to look into the possibility of the father adopting the children on humanitarian grounds since Germany has refused to grant the children citizenship as surrogacy is illegal in Germany.

The twins” father Jan Balaz has been fighting the case for two years. He had approached the Gujarat High Court first and then moved the Supreme Court.

They twins were born to an Indian surrogate mother and a German couple two years ago. They have been waiting to go to Germany since then. (ANI)

Stabbed West Ham star Davenport takes his first steps

London, Sep.19 (ANI): Looking gaunt almost a month after being knifed in his legs six times, West Ham star Calum Davenport took his first steps in public on Friday.

The unshaven ex-England Under-21 defender, dressed in a navy blue tracksuit and wearing slippers, hobbled on crutches outside hospital, reports The Sun.

He was allegedly attacked on August 22 by the boyfriend of his pregnant sister Cara following a row at her house.

Calum was found bleeding from a leg artery outside his mum’s house in Kempston, Bedford.

Doctors spent four weeks saving his limbs but there are fears he may never play again Yesterday he was greeted at Bedford Hospital by family members and wife Zoey. His loved ones have been by his bedside virtually every day. (ANI)

Man who attempted murder of West Ham star is his sister’s lover

London, Aug. 24 (ANI): A man who allegedly tried to murder West Ham footballer Calum Davenport is said to be his sister’s boyfriend.

The West Ham defender, 26, was stabbed in both legs early on Saturday at his mother’s house in Bedford.

Davenport and his mother were said to be in a “serious condition” in hospital.

Bedford Police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder in Derby on Saturday.

According to The Sun, the suspect is the boyfriend of Calum’s sister Cara – said to be five months pregnant with the alleged attacker’s child.

Cara, 28, has been going out with him for about a year.

The attack reportedly came after a “blazing row” in which Calum told Cara that he was concerned about the company she kept.

“Cara’s boyfriend knew Calum would be at his mum’s house so he went round there.There was a row which then spilled on to the drive and down the street and Calum was stabbed. It was a mess,” the paper quoted a friend, as saying. (ANI)
