New bus timetables have come into effect across the Wollongong and Shellharbour council areas.
The new timetable will see improved services on several routes including more buses during the morning and afternoon peak hour on route 34.
There will also be changes to the number 39 service around Figtree.
The Member for Shellharbour, Lylea McMahon, says the timetables will result in quicker and extended services on selected routes in her electorate.
“A quicker service for Penrose residents on route 33 to Dapto and Wollongong operating via the Princes Highway, new Compton service and Cormack Street, that’s route 43 to Dapto Warrawong and Port Kembla, improved services between Mount Warrigal, Warilla and Wollongong on route 51,” she said.
Ms McMahon says she has asked for another change in bus services when a new train timetable comes into effect.
“Route 53 certainly does link with the train and I’ve asked the Minister to improve connections with the rail on route 53 when the new train timetable comes into effect later this year,” she said.
