Brad Pitt to compete with Beckham for World Cup bid

London, June 4 (ANI): Actor Brad Pitt will compete with ace footballer David Beckham after the Hollywood superstar joined the committee trying to bring the 2018 World Cup to the United States.

Last month, Beckham officially presented England’s bid for the 2018 World Cup to FIFA president Sepp Blatter, and now Pitt has joined the USA Bid Committee.

“Soccer is a truly global sport and the opportunity to join the effort to have the US host the world’s greatest sporting event again is a great honour,” The Mirror quoted Pitt, as saying.

Comedian Drew Carey and actor-turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger are also on the US committee.

Both countries are also bidding for the 2022 World Cup, as are Australia, Russia, Spain-Portugal and the Netherlands-Belgium.

Japan, South Korea and Qatar are also bidding for the 2022 tournament.

The US staged the tournament in 1994, while England hosted the European Championships in 1996.

FIFA’s executive committee will select the 2018 and 2022 hosts in a vote on December 2. (ANI)

Brad Pitt to play animal activist in ‘The Tiger’

Washington, May 12 (ANI): Brad Pitt has signed on to star in a new film called ‘The Tiger’ – an adventure thriller about an animal activist in Siberia.

The actor is also going to produce the movie, directed by Darren Aronofsky.

The Fight Club star is joining forces with Guillermo Arriaga, the writer who wrote Pitt’s drama Babel and indie film Amores Perros.

‘The Tiger’ is an adaptation of a non-fiction book by John Vaillant that tells the story of an animal activist who has to protect a small Siberian town from a tiger who starts attacking the residents, reports Hollywood Reporter.

Focus Features and Random House”s film division will co-produce the film. (ANI)

Jennifer Aniston simply “heaven”, says Brad Pitt’s ex Juliette Lewis

Washington, May 4 (ANI): Actress Juliette Lewis has revealed that she finds actress Jennifer Aniston, who is her co-star in the upcoming comedy “The Switch”, to simply be heaven.

Lewis, 36, who was once engaged to 41-year-old Aniston’s ex-husband actor Brad Pitt, was at the G-Star Raw showroom in Los Angeles trying on the new Fall/winter 2010 collection.

“Jen was simply a piece of heaven,” Fox News quoted her as saying.

“Just a real girls’ girl – really down to earth, funny and absolutely wonderful. I play her best friend and I am kind of daffy, but we just had a natural affinity for each other,” she added. (ANI)

Brad Pitt calls ex-wife Aniston ”pathetic”

Melbourne, Apr 30 (ANI): Brad Pitt reportedly thinks former wife Jennifer Aniston is “pathetic”.

According to sources, a peeved Pitt allegedly told his pals that the Friends stars is “pathetic” for appearing on the cover of his favourite magazine, reports News.com.au.

“Brad thinks she is pathetic,” a source told US Weekly after Aniston appeared on the March 2010 cover of Architectural Digest.

As per US Weekly, Pitt complained to friends that Aniston was never into architecture and she used to make fun of him for his interest in it.

Pitt appeared on the cover of Architectural Digest in January 2009.

“Brad feels this is all so desperate,” the insider told US Weekly.

“It was a ploy to get his attention.” (ANI)

Jolie ‘asked Pitt to marry her’

Melbourne, Apr 28 (ANI): Angelina Jolie is said to have decided it was time to make Brad Pitt her husband during the couple’s stay in Venice, say sources.

The actress is currently shooting new movie The Tourist in Venice, reports News.com.au.

“Angelina has fallen in love with Brad all over again – and she wants to make it official by getting married,” a source said.

“Once she made up her mind the only thing left to do was tell Brad.”

Brad’s parents, Bill and Jane, are also said to be delighted at the news of the nuptials.

“Bill and Jane have never been entirely comfortable with the idea of he and Angie cohabiting, so they are thrilled,” another source told National Enquirer magazine. (ANI)

Washington, Apr 27 (ANI): Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly planning to get married.

They are eyeing a low-key affair in order to avoid accusations of wasting money, reports Contactmusic.

The couple raises six children, Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, five, three-year-old Shiloh and 21-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

A friend of the couple told America”s OK! magazine: “Brad and Angelina are exceptionally private people, and they pride themselves on being humble and not wasting money.

“So some over-the-top, beachfront affair with hundreds of guests isn”t going to happen.”

A source close to Brad – who was previously married to Jennifer Aniston – and Angelina said: “First it was Maddox, who has begged his parents to tie the knot for years.

London, Apr 17 (ANI): Angelina Jolie has revealed that her favourite actor is partner Brad Pitt.

“He’s my favourite actor to work with,” she tells US magazine Entertainment Weekly. “The complicated thing is to find the right project.”

The mum of six started filming her latest film, action thriller Salt, just eight months after giving birth to twins Vivienne and Knox, reports The Daily Express.

While talking about the film, she said: “The push to be strong was very welcome at the time. The funny thing is, now I am twice as motivated to do a cool stunt because my kids will like it.”

And her commitment impressed director Phillip Noyce.

“She doesn’t have to do it but she has absolutely no fear. Usually when an actor becomes more successful they play it safe,” he said. (ANI)

Jolie’s dad feels proud of his ‘spectacular’ grandkids

Sydney, April 16 (ANI): Angelina Jolie’s father Jon Voight has praised his daughter’s children, calling them spectacular.

The 71-year-old actor spoke about his six grandchildren at the Hollywood premiere of the movie Kick-Ass, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.

“The grandkids are quite spectacular, as everybody knows,” Voight told USMagazine.com.

The Oscar-winning actor reconciled with Jolie in February after years of alienation and met Jolie-Brad Pitt’s kids – Maddox, eight, Zahara and Pax, six.

He also met Jolie and Pitt’s three biological children Shiloh, three and 19-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne in Venice.

“It”s nice to have something that”s positive,” he said.

“Angie and I have been in contact on the phone and by email for some time now. We”ve been working towards a full reconciliation for a while. Angie had to feel it was the right time to bring me into the lives of her and the kids and after some work she decided the moment had arrived.I hope I get to see them again soon. Jolie a ”self-centered psycho”, claims ex-bodyguard

Melbourne, Apr 1 (ANI): Angelina Jolie is a self-centered psycho, according to her former bodyguard.

According to In Touch magazine, Bill, who once worked as a bodyguard for the actress, said she has two faces, reports The Daily Telegraph.

“Angelina has a public and a private persona,” and didn”t hold back on his true feelings.

“In my opinion, the real Angelina is self-centered and a control freak,” said Bill. “She has no patience at all. She doesn”t do things out of the kindness of her heart. And she’s totally psycho.”

Continuing with shocking revelations, he said that Jolie’s partner Brad Pitt was totally laid back, while Angie: “She screams and yells a lot, then walks away.”

He said her staff would often have to take care of the children because she would “disappear into her suite for hours. “She would punish them with silence,” said Bill, adding, “I think she could be abusive at times in a mental way.”

Brad Pitt once fled UK after fling with bad guy’s ex

Melbourne, March 25 (ANI): Brad Pitt has confessed that he had to escape from the UK after falling in love with a girl whose ex-boyfriend was a “bad guy”.

The ‘Troy’ star said that wasn’t in the Hollywood limelight that he’s today in when the incident took place while on a tour to Scotland.

“I went everywhere, saw it all. Edinburgh and Glasgow were special. I even went up to Loch Ness to see what that was all about,” News.com.au quoted him as telling the Sun.

He added: “When I was in Glasgow I got involved with this girl. She happened to be the ex-girlfriend of a bit of a bad guy.

“I ended up having to get out of town because I was getting ”that” look from a guy behind a bar.

“I think there is something about rival gangs in the city and I was about to find I was involved. I had to get out of there. It was heavy.” (ANI)

Gordon Brown asked to pick gay partner from Young, Pitt, Mandelson!

London, March 24 (ANI): British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been quizzed by a magazine for homosexuals if he would like a relationship with Lord Peter Mandelson.

The prime minister was asked by GT magazine if given a choice, who would he romance from the list of Will Young, Brad Pitt and Lord Mandelson.

“Oh, come on,” Brown told the journalist, laughing. “You”re not going to expect me to answer the question, given what Peter would say, whatever I said,” The Telegraph quoted him as telling journalist Martin Popplewell.

Popplewell replied: “Don”t tell Peter.”

Depp, Jolie on location in Italy

Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie have been spotted in Venice shooting crime thriller The Tourist.

The two were seen in front of the ritzy Danieli Hotel, a stone’s throw from Saint Mark’s Square, and cruising the Renaissance city’s canals in water taxis.

In the film, directed by Florian Henckel Von Donnersmarck, Depp plays an American tourist whose life is put in danger when an Interpol agent, played by Jolie, uses him to entrap a criminal with whom she once had an affair.

Jolie arrived in Venice last month with partner Brad Pitt and their six children.

Based on the 2004 French movie Anthony Zimmer with Sophie Marceau and Yvan Attal, The Tourist is set for release next year.

London, Mar 16 (ANI): Former ‘Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she fears tabloid gossips are destroying her career, as fans focus more on who she is dating rather than on the films she is working on.

Aniston, 41, who has had her romances with John Mayer, Vince Vaughn and ex-husband Brad Pitt flashed all over the world, admits she’s tired of being a “tabloid face”.

“That distracts from what you do and what you work really hard at which is our movies, our television shows,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

“It’s almost like another job that you have not chosen to be a part of. It’s like a soap opera that you did not sign up for,” she added. (ANI)

‘Angelina Jolie”s lips not fake’

New York, March 15 (ANI): Angelina Jolie”s lips have nothing plastic about them and are 100 per cent natural, claims a book.

Jenny Paul touched upon the actress’ beauty and her life with partner Brad Pitt in her new book, “Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie: The True Story”, reports the New York Post.

The author alleges that though the star’s puffy lips are for real, she has undergone a nose job and some laser eye surgery in the past, according to Life & Style magazine.

Jolie and Pitt share six kids and have five nannies to look after them, who are also responsible for their home schooling. (ANI)

Jolie takes adopted daughter Zahara on first visit to native Ethiopia

Washington, September 16 (ANI): Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie’s eldest daughter Zahara returned to her native Ethiopia for the first time since her adoption four years ago.

The four-year-old flew back home with her mother at the weekend.

It all happened when Jolie, currently in Kenya on a United Nations mission with partner Brad Pitt and their six children, broke away from the trip to cross the border into Ethiopia.

Zahara’s little sister Shiloh, 3, also accompanied them.

However, Pitt and the couple’s other four children stayed behind.

“On a trip to Kenya with their children, Angelina stopped in Dabaab Refugee Camp, and also flew to Ethiopia with Zahara and Shiloh for two days,” Contactmusic quoted a source as having told People.com.

“(It was) the first time Zahara had been back home since her adoption. The trip was about keeping up that culture for her,” the source added.

If reports are to be believed, Jolie is looking for a property to build a tuberculosis and AIDS clinic in Zahara’s name.

The Hollywood couple jointly founded a similar organisation to aid impoverished children-known as the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Project-after adopting their eight-year-old son Maddox from Cambodia in 2002. (ANI)

Melbourne, Sep 10 (ANI): While meeting Hollywood’s hottest hunk remains a dream for some, a passenger on a United Airlines flight was able to not only meet actor Brad Pitt but also film him.

Justin Ross Lee was fortunate enough to be seated alongside Pitt on a recent flight from Los Angeles to New York and he was able to capture the moment on his mobile phone.e has since posted the clip, showing Pitt tucking into his in-flight meal of chicken, enjoying a beer and catching some shut-eye, on brightcove.

“If Brad was any more down to earth, the jet never would have left the ground,” News.com.au quoted Lee as telling Star Magazine.

Washington, September 9 (ANI): Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she still believes in finding “the one” despite a string of failed relationships.

“I’m still a romantic. I still believe in love,” Us magazine quoted her as telling Australia’s Harper’s Bazaar.
