Goody’s sons send ‘miss you’ messages to mum in bottle

London, April 5 (ANI): Jade Goody’s beloved sons have paid tribute to their late mum in their own special way, by tucking in ‘miss you’ messages in a bottle and launching it into the ocean from Australia.

The Brit reality TV star’s five-year-old Bobby and four-year-old Freddie, on vacation with dad Jeff Brazier, marked their mum’s funeral on April 4 by writing messages and drawing her pictures.

The lads were said to have had a private ceremony of their own with their father on the beach at a private resort near Sydney.

They further sent a funeral bouquet to their mummy, who wanted them to remember her as the “brightest star in the sky”, along with a touching request.

“Please speak to God and ask him to make the clouds go away on holiday because we can’t see the stars,” News of the World quoted them as saying.

“We love you very much and speak about you every day, we know you are with us when we play on the beach, eat our dinner and even when we are colouring in pictures for you, we know we can talk to you and you’ll hear us.

“You are always in our thoughts and in our hearts mum, we are proud of you and you’ll never to be forgotten,

“We miss you, love your little men, Bobby and Freddie,” they added.

While one message said: “To God, please give to our Mum”, another one read: “We love you Mummy and we miss you Mummy.”

It was alleged that by making the boys hop the funeral, Jeff was following Jade’s wish that she did not want her boys to have the last memory of their mother in a “box surrounded by people crying”. (ANI)

Hillary Clinton’s tryst with ‘God’ in Mexico

Washington, Mar.31 (ANI): During her recent visit to Mexico, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made an unexpected stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and left a bouquet of white flowers “on behalf of the American people,” after asking who painted the famous image.

Mary miraculously imprinted the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the tilma, or cloak, of St. Juan Diego in 1531. The image has numerous unexplainable phenomena, such as the appearance on Mary’s eyes of those present in the room when the tilma was opened and the image’s lack of decay.

According to Politico, after observing it for a while, Clinton asked “who painted it?” to which Msgr. Monroy responded “God!”

The version in the Mexican press is yet more cringe-inducing: After being told it was an apparition, Clinton apparently persisted, asking, “But who painted the painting, the roses,” before being informed again that God was the artist in question. (ANI)

Nausheen’s busy singing the K-queen’s praises

Nausheen’s busy singing the K-queen’s praises Nausheen Ali Sardar started her small screen career with Ekta Kapoor’s hit show ‘Kkusum’ and was hot property for long, thanks to the show.

But she had bigger dreams and five years ago she decided to stage a walk out as she felt she looked too young to play a mother. Some attitude, this female had.

She signed a movie called ‘Marathon’ which never saw the light of the day. She hoped there would be more and quite rightfully, there weren’t any. Good TV offers stopped as well.

Maybe, a lot of it can be attributed to the fact that the lady was too vain and never really realized her worth- what she was good enough for and what not.

Now she’s coming out in the open to praise her first mentor- television tsarina Ekta Kapoor.

She’s said, “Ekta is a very nice person. She deserves the credit for making a lot of people what they are today. Whether or not we talk or meet on a regular basis, Ekta makes it a point to send me a bouquet every year. Both of us share mutual respect. I will always be grateful to her.”

Ummm… looks like the lass’s aiming for a comeback to TV. Maybe the realization of not being heroine material finally dawns. Thank God for that one. -Sampurn Media

The exhibition titled “Colours of Spring” was held in the premises of the Governor’s residence.

Around 250 varieties of flowers were exhibited in various categories of cut and potted flowers.

“It is a very nice and beautiful flower exhibition. Flowers of different hues and colours, nearly 100 to 150, are being shown here. All of the flowers grown in Uttarakhand are mostly covered,” said Monocha, a visitor, G.S. Pandey, additional secretary of the state’s horticulture department said, they had the geographical advantage of being close to New Delhi.

“Since Uttarakhand is geographically near to the national and international flower market in Delhi, we have the advantage of reaching the market earlier in comparison to other places,” said Pandey.

Exquisite varieties of flowers like carnation, lily, chrysanthemum, gladiolus, gerbera and Indian red roses that are in high demand in domestic as well as in European markets are produced in the state.

Scent of a male moth attracts females towards it

Washington, Mar 3 (ANI): It’s the scent of a male moth’s pheromones that attracts a female towards him, according to a new study.

After an analysis of the pheromones used by the European Corn Borer (ECB, Ostrinia nubilalis), a group of researchers found that females could discern a male’s ancestry, age and possibly reproductive fitness from the chemical cocktail he exuded.

Studying the influence of pheromones on mating preferences, Jean-Marc Lassance and Christer Lofstedt from Lund University, Sweden, carried out an analysis of the composition of the scent and genetic makeup of the animals involved.

They also compared the odour bouquet used by males with the scent used by females to attract potential mates.

“Our demonstration of pheromone-based female mate choice and identification of a male courtship pheromone in ECB is of particular importance because it may alter our understanding of the role of pheromones in species formation,” said Lassance.

After comparing the pheromones of French, Hungarian, American and Slovenian populations, along with those of an Asian sister species, the researchers found that the changing compositions allowed females to select for males of their own kind.

They do this in a bid to reinforce reproductive isolation, a step on the road to the formation of a new species.

Lassance speculated that combined with the possible indication of genetic fitness, pheromones may be a driving force behind butterfly and moth evolution.

He said: “Populations differ by the presence/absence of a compound designated ‘Z11-16:OAc’, especially old males, which are the more likely to obtain females’ favours. The evolution of mate choice in females from the investigated populations of France and Hungary may have been partly driven by this difference, since choosing males with the compound would result in less hybrid mating.”

The study has been published in the open access journal BMC Biology. (ANI)
