Microsoft previews Exchange 2010 SP1

In a blog entry posted Wednesday, Microsoft offered a glimpse of what will be in the first major update of Exchange Server 2010, due later this year.

Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) will bring a range of new features and capabilities to the back office mail server software, including improvements to the software’s archiving functionality and to its Web client, according to the blog entry posted by Exchange developer Michael Atalla.

The update will allow users to set up an archive folder that could be located in a mailbox separate from the primary mailbox, which could better help administrators keep their main e-mail databases at manageable sizes.

The browser client, called Outlook Web Access (OWA), will get some significant new features with this release as well. The client may seem faster to end-users, thanks to its ability to “pre-fetch” messages and run multiple operations simultaneously, according to the blog post.

The OWA user interface has been reordered for greater readability as well. And, for the first time, OWA users can read and compose messages protected by Microsoft’s information rights management (IRM) technology, a feature previously available only in the regular Outlook client.

The release will also bring enhancements in the administrative interfaces and searching capabilities. It will also roll up all the features and bug fixes since the first release of Exchange 2010.

A beta of SP1 will be made available in June, during the company’s TechEd conference.

Lady Gaga fuelled hermaphrodite rumours for publicity, alleges Katy Perry

Washington, Aug 20 (ANI): Pop singer Katy Perry has alleged that Lady Gaga herself fuelled rumours of being a hermaphrodite for publicity.

The Poker face singer was apparently seen with male genitals while performing in a concert on a recent footage that surfaced on the net.

But Perry believes that it is all a frame up.

“It’s all very calculated. She knows what she’s doing. She put something in her knickers, a mini strap-on (sex toy). Bless her if she does have a d**k, but I am certain she doesn’t,” Contactmusic quoted Perry as telling Britain’s Mirror newspaper.

Also, gossip website HollyScoop.com had reported that Gaga actually addressed rumours of her sexuality with a blog entry at Christmas last year.

The website claims the singer wrote, “It’s not something that I’m ashamed of, just isn’t something that i go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but i consider myself a female.”

However, Gaga has dismissed the rumours as “ridiculous.” (ANI)

Lindsay Lohan’s dad wants to free her from Samantha Ronson’s ‘bondage’

New York, Jan 29 (ANI): American actress Lindsay Lohan’s dad Michael has revealed that he would like to free his daughter from her lover Samantha Ronson’s grip.

Michael, who has been against the relationship from the start, spoke out publicly in a blog entry entitled “Please help!!!”

“After seeing promise and thanking God for Lindsay’s freedom from Samantha’s bondage, I see now, that since Samantha has once again, weaseled her way back into Lindsay’s life, things have taken a dark turn,” the New York Daily News quoted him as writing.

“Like I said in the past, ‘if I see or hear of anyone or anything causing harm or is seen as a threat to my children,’ I will speak about it, and do anything I can to try to intervene regardless of the repercussions on me,” he stated.

The reason Lohan’s dad was so angry was because the ‘Mean Girls’ star had allegedly left her little sister in Los Angeles to join Ronson at a DJ gig in Boston.

“Was this again, a means for Samantha to earn more money through Lindsay’s presence?” he wrote.

“Is Lindsay so blind?” he added.

Michael also wrote about his 22-year-old daughter’s lack of acting work, recent weight loss, and alleged self-harming.

“When a mother or father sees their child in turmoil … are we supposed to stand by, remain silent and pretend it isn’t happening? Or are we suppose to step to the plate and not care what people think, and do something about it?” he wrote.

Asking fans to intervene, he added: “Help this wonderful, good hearted and gifted young lady to see what Samantha is doing to her and how she is destroying her life.”(ANI)

The latest weapon to fight extra flab – blogging!

Washington, Jan 27 (ANI): “Dietgirl” Shauna Reid, who shed half her 351 pounds, has now disclosed the secret to her miraculous weight loss-blogging.

While losing 200 lbs was not easy for Reid, but the Australian-born lady, who’d always kept a journal, decided to try her hand at blogging.

Eight years ago, at 23, she weighed 351 pounds and started by posting full body photos of her with blurred face on the blog.

And with readers giving that much needed support to her, Reid has become the biggest loser of weight.

In fact, she now has one of the most internationally popular blogs about weight loss to her credit, with over 500,000 readers-DietGirl.org.

Reid has now come up with a book, “The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl,” in which she chronicles her five-and-a-half-year journey to half her size.

On her visit to The Early Show yesterday, she shared her story, as well as encouragement to fellow dieters.

When asked about what made her turn to blogging, she said: “At first, the anonymity. All my friends were skinny, so I didn’t want to talk to them about how scary and lonely it is to be fat. They’re lovely, but they just wouldn’t understand — they don’t know what it feels like to not be able to walk down the street — it is out of their realm of experience,” reports CBS News.

She told co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez: “I had always written my secrets in a diary, but I knew the task ahead called for more than a journal. So I would go online and tell anyone who was listening how much it hurt to be this weight — and every blog entry started with my exact weight. Readers started to cheer me on when the number went down, and encouraged me to stay with it when the number went up. I’m blogging now about how hard it is to maintain a healthy weight.”

Blogging “is kind of like anonymous group therapy, in a way. You get inspired, but you also get practical ideas,” said Reid. (ANI)
