Katona’s ‘hubby wants to leak couple’s sex tape on net to ease cash crisis’

London, Sept 16 (ANI): Already troubled Kerry Katona fears getting into more mess as hubby Mark Croft wants to sell off a steamy sex tape of the couple to alleviate their cash crunch, it has emerged.

Pals say Katona’s former taxi driver hubby tried to sell the idea to her, which has made the ex-Atomic Kitten even more anxious about losing the custody of her two daughters, Molly and Lilly Sue, to their father and divorced hubby Brian Nicholas McFadden.

“Mark’s not given up hope by any means. He thinks it’s a guaranteed earner, which could make them anything up to half-a-million,” a pal was quoted by the Daily Star, as saying.

Friends say the 39-year old Croft has no plans to change his mind and he intends to use the cash from the tape’s sale to fund his extravagant lifestyle.

A friend said: “Mark thinks he knows it all and is determined to take over every aspect of Kerry’s life. He thinks that a sex tape of them, which somehow found its way on to the internet, would earn them a lot of cash – at least 250,000 pounds and possibly as much as 500,000 pounds.

“Mark is absolutely obsessed with money and has told Kerry that it could be a life-saver for them, but at the moment she’s having nothing to do with it.

“She’s scared stiff of anything so tacky being the last stop in her attempts to hold on to her two little girls by Brian McFadden.” (ANI)

Too much being attributed to Centre’s affidavit on Ishrat Jehan encounter: Chidambaram

Washington, Sep.11 (ANI): Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, who is currently on a four-day visit to the United States, said on Thursday that too much was being attributed to the Centre’s affidavit on the 2004 Ishrat Jehan encounter case.

“To the best of my knowledge the affidavit says that intelligence inputs were shared with the Gujarat government. That affidavit must be read in context. You cannot read into it what it does not say. I think it is self evident that Intelligence inputs are not evidence, much less conclusive proof. They are just inputs. They are shared with governments on a regular basis. That is not evidence or conclusive proof. It gives leads to investigators for further enquiry. If a state government acts as though intelligence inputs are evidence or conclusive proof I am sorry for that government,” Chidambaram told a press conference.

“Certainly no one suggested that based on an intelligence input you should kill someone. I think too much is being attributed to that affidavit as if it is meant to defend the government of Gujarat against the excesses that may have been committed by its police. I am sorry for the government of Gujarat and the manner in which it runs its police administration,” he added. (ANI)

Kennedy, the family patriarch, died of complications arising out of brain cancer at his Hyannis Port home on Tuesday. He was 77.

In his statement, Obama said: ” Michelle and I were heartbroken to learn this morning of the death of our dear friend, Senator Ted Kennedy.

For five decades, virtually every major piece of legislation to advance the civil rights, health and economic well being of the American people bore his name and resulted from his efforts.

I valued his wise counsel in the Senate, where, regardless of the swirl of events, he always had time for a new colleague. I cherished his confidence and momentous support in my race for the Presidency. And even as he waged a valiant struggle with a mortal illness, I’ve profited as President from his encouragement and wisdom.

An important chapter in our history has come to an end. Our country has lost a great leader, who picked up the torch of his fallen brothers and became the greatest United States Senator of our time.

And the Kennedy family has lost their patriarch, a tower of strength and support through good times and bad.

Our hearts and prayers go out to them today-to his wonderful wife, Vicki, his children Ted Jr., Patrick and Kara, his grandchildren and his extended family. (ANI)

Ganesha Chaturthi is one of the most important festivals of Hindus in India.

On the concluding day of the festival, the idols are carried in grand processions and immersed in rivers or seas.

Lord Ganesha, is one of the most revered Gods of Hindus, and is worshipped at the beginning of every auspicious occasion.

Ganesha, as the God of knowledge is described as “Vinayaka”and as remover of obstacles he is called “Vighanharta”. He is worshipped at the beginning of every auspicious occasion for blessings of luck and success.

The son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha has an elephantine countenance with a curved trunk and big ears, and a huge pot-bellied body of a human being.

He is revered as the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles besides being worshipped as the God of education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth.

Legend has it once Goddess Parvati, while bathing, created a boy out of the dirt of her body and assigned him the task of guarding the entrance to her bathroom. When Lord Shiva, her husband returned, he was surprised to find a stranger denying him access, and struck off the boy’s head in rage.

Parvati broke down in utter grief and to soothe her, Shiva sent out his squad (gana) to fetch the head of any sleeping being who was facing the north. The company found a sleeping elephant and brought back its severed head, which was then attached to the body of the boy. Shiva restored its life and made him the leader (pati) of his troops.

Hence, his name ‘Ganapati’. Shiva also bestowed a boon that people would worship him and invoke his name before undertaking any venture. By Sarda Lahangir / Jaipal Sharma (ANI)

Zawahiri asks Pakistanis to support insurgents against US ‘crusade’

Islamabad, July 15 (ANI): In an apparent bid to garner the support of people against the US,Al-Qaeda has asked Pakistani civilians to help insurgents in their battle against the US-led ‘crusade’.

In a video released by Qaeda’s second in command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Pakistanis have been urged to support the fight against the US, which according to him, is threatening the ‘country’s existence’.

The video titled “My Muslim Brothers and Sisters in Pakistan” showed Zawahiri asking the youth of the nation to join the fight against the US.

Zawahiri said the US intervention in Pakistan’s military and politics could break up the nuclear-armed country.

“The American crusader manipulation of Pakistan’s destiny has reached such an extent that it now poses a grave danger to Pakistan’s future and very existence,” the eight minute video showed Zawahiri, as saying.

“It is evident that Pakistan is deeply involved in a fierce internal struggle between two forces- one representing ‘Islamic values’ and the other being the US-led ‘crusade’ to neutralize fighters threatening Western interests,” he said.

The video which has been dubbed in English language was posted several jihadist web forums on Tuesday, The Nation reports.

Anderson says Ponting let England off the hook

Cardiff (Wales), July 13 (ANI): Batting hero Jimmy Anderson on Sunday claimed that Australian captain Ricky Ponting took his fingers off England’s throat by bowling part-time spinner Marcus North in the dramatic final overs at Cardiff.

As England held out for a controversial draw, Ponting tossed the ball to North for two of the final four overs.

Off-spinner Nathan Hauritz was bowling at the other end at a time when Australia’s pacers had been far more threatening to the last batting pair of Anderson and Monty Panesar.

“Certainly when they put Marcus North on I thought we had a great chance, them putting a part time spinner on,” The Daily Telegraph quoted Anderson, as saying.

“I thought, we’ve got a good chance here because Monty was playing it very well, we were communicating well together,” he added.

Ponting, however, vigorously defended the use of his spinners, saying time was running out and Australia needed to bowl as many deliveries as possible at England’s last pair.

“Look, we were running a bit short of time. Once they forged that last partnership, we needed to get as many balls into their batsmen as possible. A few other minutes being taken up by other things. Two left-handers being in, two off spinners being on, I thought we could create some chances,” Ponting said.

England skipper Andrew Strauss refused to publicly savage Ponting for the spin ploy, but claimed the tailenders would have found spearhead pacer Mitchell Johnson more difficult to face.

“I could understand what he was doing, but personally I thought Mitchell Johnson would have been harder for these two to face,” Strauss said.

“Each captain sees things differently, I suppose. It’s a difficult situation when you’re trying to rush through overs when you get to the back end of the game there,” he said.

“The reality was that it was a very flat wicket and it was difficult to prise people out, especially if they showed application, which the second half of our order did,” Strauss said. (ANI)

It’s massive. I don’t know how people can see it on IMAX without having a brain aneurism or at least a migraine headache.
