Polar bears face extinction in less than 70 years because of global warming

London, September 11 (ANI): A new research has warned that polar bears face extinction in less than 70 years because of global warming.

“Recent projections suggest polar bears could be extinct within 70 years,” Eric Post, associate professor of biology at Penn State University, who led the latest study, told the Telegraph.

“But we think this could be a very conservative estimate. The outlook is very bleak for them and other creatures such as ringed seals,” he said.

Melting ice is causing Polar bear numbers to drop dramatically, scientists warn.

“The rate at which sea ice is disappearing is accelerating and these creatures rely on it for shelter, hunting and breeding. If this goes, so do they,” said Post.

Others also at risk include ivory gulls, Pacific walruses, ringed and hooded seals and narwhals, small whales with long, spiral tusks.

One of the problems is that other animals are moving north, encroaching on their territory, spurred by increasing temperatures, pushing out native species.

The animals are also struggling with the loss of sea ice.

The international team analyzed average temperature in the Arctic over the last 150 years and warned many animals that are dependent upon the stability and persistence of sea ice are faring especially badly.

Polar bears and ringed seals both give birth in lairs or caves under the snow and can lose many newborn pups when the lairs collapse in unusually early spring rains, triggered by climate change.

Among animals migrating further north are red foxes, which are driving out the smaller Arctic foxes. (ANI)

Gorilla-like creature resembling ‘Bigfoot’ photographed in Kentucky backyard

London, September 10 (ANI): A gorilla-like creature that resembles the mythical creature ‘Bigfoot’ is causing excitement on the web after being photographed in the back garden of a home in Kentucky in the US.

According to a report in the Telegraph, the large, hairy beast can be seen in a blurry picture taken on an automatic camera set up by an amateur hunter.

While flicking through images of rabbits and deer, Kenny Mahoney noticed a dark, humanoid creature that does not look like any of the southern US state’s known native species.

The mystery animal’s head appears too small for it to be a bear, leaving Mahoney wondering whether he had accidentally captured one of the clearest ever photos of Bigfoot.

“It looked like it had the outline of a head, and like gorilla type shoulders, and then the arms crossed is what it looks like to me,” said Mahoney.

“One of the explanations my brother-in-law said it may be a garbage bag blowed up in there, but all the smashed over vegetation in there – I really don’t know. I have no idea what it is,” he added.

Mahoney said he is very doubtful that the creature in the photo is Bigfoot.

His wife Margaret has sent the image to a wildlife expert in the hope of getting it identified.

The mythical ape-like creature Bigfoot is most regularly sighted in the forests in the northwestern states and provinces of North America, although last month a teenage girl in Poland reported seeing a similar beast.

Last year, two men in the US state of Georgia claimed to have discovered a body of Bigfoot, but subsequently confessed that photos they produced as “proof” of their find actually showed a rubber ape costume. (ANI)

Black bear killed in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 2 (ANI): In a gruesome incident, resident killed a black bear at Mandi village of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reportedly, the black bear had trespassed into a school and market place. Scores of villagers chased the bear to the nearby forest and killed it with sharp edged weapons and brutally dragged the animal through rocks.

Villagers alleged that they informed the Wild life department and forest officials about the presence of the black bear but no one came to their rescue and they were left with no other option but to kill the animal to save their lives.

Police official present at the spot made no effort to stop the villagers. (ANI)

Teddy bear-shaped nurse robot developed

London, September 1 (ANI): Japanese scientists have come up with a robot resembling a huge, happy teddy bear to help look after hospital patients.

RIBA, Robot for Interactive Body Assistance, which can lift a weight of 61 kg on its foam padded arms, is the work of the government-run Riken research institute.

Dr. Toshiharu Mukai, the lead researcher, said the device was developed to lift hospital patients in and out of their wheelchairs and beds.

“We have developed RIBA because we want to help caregivers when they are required to transfer patients between hospital beds and wheelchairs,” the Telegraph quoted Mukai as saying.

The robot, that can also recognise faces and voices and respond to up to 30 spoken commands, may be seen in hospitals and retirement homes within three years.

Mukai said battery-powered RIBA was based on a teddy bear because humanoid versions could leave people uncomfortable. (ANI)

Rare animals getting old in Nainital zoo

Nainital, Aug 25 (ANI): Ageing of rare animals in the zoological park in Nainital becomes a cause of concern for the authorities.

The ‘Bharat Ratna Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude Zoo’ is one of its kind, which provides safe haven to rare Himalayan black bears, snow leopards, and Siberian tigers and other high altitude fauna.

Authorities are now concerned that the rare Siberian tigers, bears and leopards are now ageing and have thus asked central zoo authorities for new species.

“Our Siberian tiger is almost 15 years old and its getting ere old. We lost recently one snow leopard and three years ago, we lost Siberian tiger also. So I wrote to central zoo authority through proper channels to get all these animals from other zoos. Central zoo authority also agrees to give us animals from other zoos,” said Bajulal T.R, director, Bharat Ratna Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude Zoo.

Veterinary doctor says that special arrangements have been made and normal monitoring is done keeping in mind the age of animals

“Some of our animals are ageing which means that they are crossing the age of 12-13 years. Average age of an animal is generally about 20 years. Special arrangements have been made for the ageing animals like they are given boneless meat. And multi-vitamins and anti-oxidants are mixed in their food,” said L K Sanwal, veterinary doctor.

The Zoo was established in 1984 with the objective of conserving and protecting the wild life and bio-diversity of the hill region of Uttarakhand. Spread over an area of 4.693 hectares, it houses some of the rare and endangered species of animals like Siberian tiger, Himalayan black bear, hill fox, palm civet cat, goral, silver pheasants, barking deer and sambhar deer.

Utilizing the available topography and geography of the region, the authorities have developed appropriate facilities for animals and birds on the hilly sides of the location. By Vipul Goel (ANI)

“Good guy” Akhtar’s attitude has been like this from his early years, says Zahid

Islamabad, Aug 24(ANI): Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has lived a life under the media hammer for various off-field activities, but one person backs his activities, Mohammad Zahid.

Zahid, a former Pakistan fast bowler and the man rumoured to have bowled the fastest delivery ever in international cricket, came up the ranks in first class cricket with Akhtar, and both played together for PIA for three to four years.

Zahid said he was with Akhtar in the Pakistan junior squad and in international stage, and believes that Akhtar’s activities come to him naturally.

“His attitude has been like this from the early years! He hasn’t changed, it’s part of his makeup! He is not a bad character. He is a good guy!,” PakPassion.Net quoted Zahid, as saying.

“If I saw him I would give him the brotherly advice and say you have at most one or two years left in your career and concentrate just on cricket, as it would be good for him and for Pakistan if he knuckled down and kept his focus on cricket,” Zahid added.

Zahid further said that Akhtar’s fitness has always been dodgy, and said that his body’s anatomical condition is such that he would not be able to keep on bowling.

“His body’s anatomical condition is such that it isn’t made to play say 5 tests in a series for example. He can play 1 test and then he will say rest him, so his body and his joints can recover. This way he can play for 1 or 2 years longer,” Zahid said.

Zahid also said that Pakistani selectors should back Akhtar snd bear with him for just one or two years more, as he deserves to carry on playing. (ANI)

Without customary bad boys of NAM, summit lacks excitement

Sharm-el-Sheikh (Egypt), July 16 (ANI): Without the presence of 21st century enfant terrible of the Middle East Mohammad Ahmadinejad, the towering personality of Fidel Castro or the biting wit of Venezuelian President Hugo Chavez, the 15th Non-Aligned Movement Summit meet lacks the glamour element.

The media room has journalists wondering which world leader to chase for bites. Ultimately the general consensus is that it can only be India-Pakistan talks, whether they happen or not, that can really be the only ‘story’.
Even the once flamboyant Muammar Gaddafi seems like an aged lion dressed in orange robes and purple turban. All he could say was “We are the world” referring to the over 100 heads of government of mostly developing nations who have gathered here in Sharm-el-Sheikh.

Gaddafi called for reforms of the United Nations, which he said should better, represent developing countries’ interests. “We are facing new challenges and we need to reconsider, reevaluate the international situation in order for the world to benefit from this huge gathering,” he said.
Iranian President still smarting from the election fiasco gave this summit a miss. Iran is a member of NAM and the chair of the coming summit in 2012. However, Egypt’s relations with Iran are lukewarm as Egypt opposes what it considers Iran’s interference in the Arab affairs.

So when the Egyptian President extended the invitation to Ahmadinejad, it was accepted initially but later it was declined and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki came instead. But he too suddenly left Egypt for Iran Tuesday afternoon after the 15th ministerial meeting of the NAM leading to speculation that Ahmadinejad might suddenly turn up today. But it did not happen.

Hugo Chavez is made for television. Even Obama couldn’t resist his charm or else as cynics say, his huge oil deposits. Though Chavez did not attend the meet, Venezuela’ rebel status got quite a fillip at the ministerial level meet.

The foreign ministers included its support of the constitutional government of President Hugo Chavez and its support to the people of Venezuela to elect their own form of government and determine the economic, social and political system without foreign intervention.

The NAM also added their concern for the growing intelligence activity against Venezuela and Cuba and condemned the attempts and recent conspiracies aimed at assassination plots against President Hugo Chavez.

From the time of the 7th summit in New Delhi, when Fidel Castro gave Prime Minister Indira Gandhi a bear hug and called her his sister, Castro has been the hero for the Indian media.

The octogenarian who is battling poor health was the towering figure of many a NAM summit meet. He swept into power more than 50 years ago and though his detractors are many his admirers in Cuba and rest of the world are a legion to themselves.

Watching him thump his hand in the air in his military fatigues while calling the US names gladdened many a liberal heart in the sixties and seventies.

In today’s world, not many can have that effect on crowds. Most world leaders are slaves to teleprompter or Ivy League speech writers. Or worse, bureaucrats from the stable. By Smita Prakash (ANI)

Russia has violated UK airspace 18 times in two years

London, July 10 (ANI): Russian military aircraft violated British airspace without permission 18 times over the last two years, and now Members of Parliament are urging the Gordon Brown Government to take on a “more robust” stance, the Daily Telegraph reports.

RAF fighters were scrambled to intercept the Russian Bear bombers.

The Commons Defence Committee said the actions were “not the actions of a friendly nation”.

While the flights did not pose a direct threat to the security of Britain or NATO, the committee said they could endanger civil aircraft flying in the same area and risked causing serious accidents.

“The Government should take a more robust approach in making clear to Russia that its continued secret incursions by military aircraft into international airspace near to the UK is not acceptable behaviour,” said the committee in its report.

The committee said that such flights took place on 10 separate days in 2007, although they have since dropped off, with flights on just two days so far this year.

Overall the committee said that Britain should adopt a “practical and hard-headed approach” in its dealings with Russia. (ANI)

Clerics in Moradabad issue fatwa against homosexuality

Moradabad, July 3 (ANI): A day after the Delhi High Court overturned ban on gay sex, Muslim clerics in Moradabad have issued a fatwa against homosexuality.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday had ruled that gay sex was not a crime, a verdict that will bolster demands by gay and health groups that the government scrap a British colonial law.

The ruling is expected to be repeal the 1861 law that makes homosexual sex punishable.

However, the verdict did not go down well with Muslim clerics.

Justifying the fatwa, Sibtey Nabi Ashrafi, a Muslim cleric said that relationship between same sexes is against the law of the nature and against Islam.

“Relationship between same sexes is unnatural and we cannot bear it. Islam forbids sex between same genders. We have issued a fatwa since its illegal. Both male and female have particular role to play and it’s against the nature of the law,” said Ashrafi.

The court’s ruling that homosexual sex among consenting adults is not a crime is expected to boost an increasingly vocal pro-gay lobby that says the British-era law was a violation of human rights.

The ruling applies to the whole of the nation, but can be appealed at the Supreme Court. (ANI)

Depp blames fans for turning him into a recluse

London, June 27 (ANI): Johnny Depp has laid the blame of turning into a recluse on his fans’ shoulders, saying he cannot bear being gawked.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star said he would much rather stay home in a “dark room” than be mobbed by fans at red carpet events and film premieres.

“You don’t ever get used to that kind of thing. That’s why I hardly ever leave my house. I don’t go anywhere,” The Daily Express quoted him as telling the U.K.’s Daily Telegraph.

“I understand what it’s about but there’s only so much of that sort of thing a human being can deal with.

“I can’t think of myself in terms of celebrity. It’s just too weird. If the choice is between being gawked at and sitting in a chair in a dark room, I prefer the dark room,” he added. (ANI)

10yr-old boy fights to save J.R.R. Tolkien hotel, The Three Cups

London, Jun 23 (ANI): A 10-year-old Brit boy has started a campaign to save a seaside hotel in which noted English writer J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a part of ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

The Three Cups Hotel in Lyme Regis, Dorset, has been left in a derelict state, with developers wanting to convert it into flats.

But when Leon Howe discovered that a part of his favourite book had been written there, he was determined to save it.

He turned the campaign into a school project, and, on June 20, staged a protest march through the town, collecting 1,000 signatures on the way.

Howe and other local residents want West Dorset District Council compulsorily to purchase the hotel from Palmer’s Brewery, and sell it to someone who will restore it to its former glory.

His mother Rikey, 41, who owns a teddy bear shop directly opposite the hotel, revealed that her son was very excited to discover that Tolkien had stayed there.

“Leon is a Tolkien fanatic and loves reading The Hobbit so he was very excited when he found out Tolkien spent a lot of time there,” Times Online quoted her as saying.

“We attended a recent public meeting to discuss the hotel and sat at the front. When the open mike came round he put his hand up.

“He said that he felt so strongly that the hotel should be saved that he was going to do a school project on it and he was cheered,” she added.

The little boy even drew and printed 200 leaflets promoting the protest march as part of his project at Mrs Ethelston’s Primary School in Lyme Regis.

“Before this the Three Cups was just a building to me but now it is a really important building,” he explained.

“I don’t think it should be abused like this. I am extremely angry and I don’t want to be my mum’s age and it still be looking like this,” he added.

The Georgian hotel had many illustrious guests before it closed 20 years ago, including Jane Austin, Alfred Tennyson and Dwight D. Eisenhower, the US military commander who led the D-Day landings.

It also featured in the film ‘The French Lieutenant’s Woman’, starring Jeremy Irons, who is also backing the campaign. (ANI)

Will Ferrell ate reindeer eyeball during ‘Man vs. Wild’ stint

Washington, May 30 (ANI): Comedian Will Ferrell has revealed that he ate raw reindeer eyeball during his stint in Man vs. Wild.

The 41-year-old star will be appearing on the series along with former military man and survivor expert Bear Grylls, for the promotion of his new film ‘Land Of The Lost’.

The Anchorman star spent two days with Grylls in the frozen Swedish wilderness and learned how to make snowshoes from twigs and light a signal fire.

He also drank his own urine and ate reindeer eyeball, while learning how to stay alive against the odds.

“I did eat the cornea of a reindeer. Bear cut out this little gelatinous disc from the eyeball and was like, ‘Here, try this!’” Contactmusic quoted him as telling Entertainment Weekly.

Ferrell admits the taste and texture was disgusting. (ANI)

18-year-old’s ex-flame blames Berlusconi for stealing his girlfriend

London, May 26 (ANI): The ex-boyfriend of Noemi Letizia, the 18-year-old aspiring model at the heart of Silvio Berlusconi’s divorce row, has blamed the Italian Prime Minister for the breakdown of his relationship.

Berlusconi’s ties with Letizia have already angered his wife Veronica Lario, 52.

The 72-year-old PM reportedly gave the teen a 5,300-pound gold and diamond necklace at her birthday party a month ago.

After reports of his appearance at the birthday party emerged, Lario announced that she was leaving him because he “spends too much time with minors” and because he is “not well”.

Now, Noemi’s former boyfriend, Gino Flaminio, has claimed that Berlusconi caused the pair to split, reports Sky News.

He alleged they had ended their relationship because she was spending too much time with the media tycoon-turned-politician.

In an interview with La Repubblica, Gino contradicted Berlusconi’s claims that he had always met Noemi through her parents.

He claimed Berlusconi called Noemi after TV friend Emilio Fede had unintentionally forgotten her photographic book of modelling shots at his house.

Gino claimed he had listened in to phones calls by the PM to Noemi.

He said Berlusconi “had a fatherly attitude when he was speaking to her and I didn’t like it”.

“I told her I didn’t like it. She is a sweet and innocent girl who can’t bear being apart from her teddy bear,” Gino went on.

The 22-year-old said he and Noemi broke up after the model told him she was going to Berlusconi’s villa on the island of Sardinia for New Year.

He said: “When she came back, she told me there were around 30 girls there.

“There was a lot of strange things going on – I called her friend Roberta who was with her but she kept telling me Noemi was busy and couldn’t talk.” (ANI)

Global warming still looms large as threat to Polar Bears

Washington, May 26 (ANI): In a new research, scientists have strengthened the forecasts of polar bear populations and their likely responses to climate change, by refuting criticisms of the scientific basis for listing the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act.

The research, by a team of scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), University of Alaska, University of Maryland, Canadian Wildlife Service and the US Forest Service, refutes point-by-point a widely publicized critique of polar bear population predictions.

The new rebuttal reinforces the reports written by the scientists and accepted by the Department of Interior in its May 2008 decision to list polar bears as a threatened species on the U.S. Endangered Species Act.

“The decision to list the polar bear as threatened was politically charged, and the scientific research on which it was based attracted some criticisms,” said WHOI biologist Hal Caswell, an author on two of the USGS reports and of the rebuttal.

“Our new study shows that the critique is incorrect and based on misconceptions about climate models, the Arctic environment, polar bear biology, and statistical and mathematical methods,” he added.

The rebuttal was published in the journal Interfaces online on April 22, 2009, and will be published in the July-August print edition.

In 2007, when the Department of the Interior was considering listing the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act, it asked the USGS to assemble an international team to analyze information on polar bear populations.

The team estimated the probabilities of future polar bear population growth or decline.

The USGS-led group presented its reports in fall 2007, and in May 2008, the Department of Interior listed the polar bear as a threatened species under the US Endangered Species Act.

Following that listing, a critique of the USGS reports was published in the Sept.-Oct. 2008 issue of the journal Interfaces.

“After going through their report, however, we decided we needed to do a rebuttal of this, and in the end, we went point by point to refute their criticism,” said Caswell.

According to Caswell, “We began by explaining why the sea ice habitat of polar bears is declining and showing how climate models, outputs from which we used as inputs to our analyses, are reliable for forecasting the future climate.”

“Finally, we took a look at their principles of forecasting, and found they are too ambiguous and subjective to be used as a reliable basis for auditing scientific investigations,” he said. (ANI)

Berlusconi to address Parliament about alleged relationship with teen girl

London, May 25 (ANI): Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is likely to address Parliament over his alleged relationship with one 18-year-old Noemi Letizia.

Letizia, who affectionately calls Berlusconi “Papi”, came under media glare after Veronica Lario, the Italian leader’s wife, announced their divorce saying that she could not stay with a man “who frequents minors”.

The buzz started that Belusconi had attended the teenager’s 18th birthday party last weekend, presenting her with a gold and diamond necklace. The visit infuriated his wife.

When asked whether he would outline the nature of his relationship with Letizia officially, he told a local television station in Rome: “Explain to parliament my relationship with Noemi Letizia? I’m thinking about it.”

Berlusconi said that the claims would bounce back on people making allegations.

“They will be ashamed, and will lose the respect of voters. In this case there is nothing improper, nothing that is not more than clean,” Times Online quoted him as telling Radio Monte Carlo.

“The behaviour of several newspapers has really been disgraceful, vile – I would even say disgusting. When people will understand the real situation several people will be ashamed,” he added.

Berlusconi’s relationship with Letizia faced fresh allegations after a former boyfriend of the aspiring model contradicted his claim that he had met her due to his friendship with her parents.

In an interview to newspaper La Repubblica, Gino Flaminio, 22, said that he had ended their relationship because he felt uncomfortable about the growing friendship between Letizia and the media tycoon-turned-politician.

He revealed that Berlusconi contacted Letizia last year after a friend mistakenly left her modelling portfolio after dining at one of the premier’s homes.

“Noemi’s parents have nothing to do with Berlusconi, the link is directly through him. Their relationship started around October 2008,” the Telegraph quoted Flaminio as saying.

“It quickly became clear to me that Noemi and me had no future.

“He had a fatherly attitude when he was speaking to her and I didn’t like it. I told her I didn’t like it.

“She is a sweet and innocent girl who can’t bear being apart from her teddy bear,” he added. (ANI)

Andre ‘wants to reunite with Jordan for kids’

Washington, May 20 (ANI): Singer Peter Andre is thinking of giving his strained marriage with Katie Price another chance for the sake of their three kids, it has emerged.

Andre’s family feels he should reunite with Kate, alias Jordan, for the sake of their kids Junior, three, Princess Tiaámii, 23 months, and her six-year-old son Harvey.

He revealed to a pal: “I left Kate because at times she behaved like a complete tart, but this isn’t just about her or me.

“The most important thing in our lives are our children. It would be best if we were reunited.”

According to Andre’s uncle Michalis Violaris, who’s currently staying with him, family is putting pressure on Peter to give the marriage another try.

“The family wants them to get back together to how it used to be. But Peter is very confused. I cannot get inside his mind, but all the time he sits around the house thinking about it,” the Daily Star quoted Violaris as saying.

It is also said that Andre is finding it difficult to stay away from his kids and fears that Jordan might make it difficult for him to meet them if they split.

“When the separation was announced, at that stage in Peter’s mind it was definitely over and he was adamant nothing could persuade him to go back,” said an insider.

“He’s still resisting pressure to budge on that, but he’s yearning for the children. Good Cypriot families don’t really believe in divorce – especially when children are involved.

“Peter cannot bear the thought of not seeing his children and now he is in complete turmoil. He can live without Kate but not the children.

“If he was to have Kate back, there would have to be a massive change in her behaviour. She would have to stop her big nights out, to concentrate on being a good wife and mother,” the insider added.

Meanwhile, a top divorce lawyer has warned that Peter needs to avoid upsetting Kate.

“It’s in his interests to keep everything amicable and come to an agreement with Jordan over the children,” said lawyer Julie Ferguson. (ANI)

Astronauts fix Hubble gyroscopes, despite technical glitch

Washington, May 16 (ANI): Astronauts have managed to repair gyroscopes in the Hubble, the most critical repair to the giant space telescope, despite facing significant glitches in the process.

According to a report by BBC News, in a second spacewalk, mission specialists Mike Good and Mike Massimino put a refurbished pair of gyroscopes into the telescope after a new set refused to go in.

Besides the gyroscopes, which would enable the Hubble to orient precisely, the giant telescope also got fresh batteries to ensure five more years of life.

Despite the setbacks, scientists said that Hubble would function well, pointing to ever-distant objects in the cosmos.

The troubled spacewalk on May 15 was the longest yet, lasting eight hours.

“At times, I felt like I was wrestling a bear,” Mike Massimino was quoted as saying by AFP news agency, as he and Mike Good struggled to install the gyroscopes, or “rate sensing units” (RSUs).

Previously, only three of the six gyroscopes worked.

But, after the marathon spacewalk, Hubble has four brand new sets and two refurbished ones. Only two are needed to orient the telescope properly.

Of the six gyroscopes replaced, three had failed, two were acting up and one was working properly.

Gyroscopes keep the 19-year-old Hubble telescope pointed where it should be, and hence the replacement operation was the most important part of this mission’s five scheduled spacewalks.

The first part of the spacewalk was to replace the three RSUs, each of which contains two gyroscopes.

While the first RSU went in as planned, the second one did not seat properly on its plate. The crew opted to place the third RSU in the slot of the second.

The same problem occurred when the RSU meant for the second slot was placed into the third, so the crew opted to install a refurbished unit instead.

But, Hubble’s deputy senior project scientist, Mal Niedner, said he was not concerned that the astronauts had to resort to refurbished gyroscopes, which lack the latest anticorrosive wiring.

“It’s the difference between an A and an A-plus,” he was quoted as saying by AP news agency.

The three batteries that were replaced were the original equipment installed on Hubble 19 years ago, intended to have just a five-year lifespan. (ANI)

Pet lovers happy with dignified burials of their loved ones

Bangalore, May 15 ANI): Pet lovers are happy as their loved ones get a dignified burial at a cemetery in Bangalore.

A non-governmental organization – People for Animals (PFA) – has made a graveyard for pets giving a sigh of relief to all those pet lovers who cannot bear the pain of dumping their loved ones into garbage.

Several people flock the cemetery everyday to either give a dignified burial to their pets or remember the ones who left them years ago. They also planted trees on the cemetery.

Each tombstone explains a different emotion and abundant love. While some of the graves in the cemetery are simple plaques, others are marble epitaphs where the owners have poured their hearts out.

Some pet lovers claim that they feel comfortable in the cemetery as they can remain close to their loved ones.

“Till they are alive we love them a lot but at the end we usually cant give them a place like this. But now we found a place and it’s really nice. I think every person who has a pet should come here,” said Sahana, a pet lover.

S.V Prasad, manager of People for Animals said that many pet lovers appreciate the place.

“This has been well appreciated in the city by many pet owners. And we continue to improve upon this service so that a large number of people do come and have the facility,” said Prasad.

‘People For Animals’ organization also offers service to bring the dead pet to the burial ground and after doing all the ceremonies they are buried scientifically. By Jaipal Sharma (ANI)

Peter Andre cannot bear living without his kids

London, May 15 (ANI): Singer Peter Andre may have called it quits with his wife Jordan, but he just cannot bear the thought of living without his kids.

“My family is the most important thing to me. I’m worried about the kids – they’re my main concern,” he added.

Nikos has revealed that the entertainer is very thwarted, and worried about his kids.

“Peter is very solemn. He told us the children are his life and that’s what his main worry is,” Nikos said.

“He was sad and quiet. He didn’t want to talk about Katie. The kids are more important to him,” Nikos added

Meanwhile, Peter, who hasn’t seen his kids as Jordan has fled with them to Woldingham, recently shared a heartbreaking phone call with his kids. (ANI)

Matthew Mcconaughey’s favourite pastime

Washington, May 04 (ANI): Matthew Mcconaughey entertains himself – by fantasising surviving in the wilderness.

The actor has confessed that he loves exotic travel and often imagines himself fending off attacks by dangerous beasts on his journeys, armed only with a knife to defend himself.

He said: “I travel a lot in some wild places. I’m always thinking, ‘What if I came across a grizzly bear? What is by best chance of survival? What if a gator (alligator) gets me?’”

However, Mcconaughey has yet to test out any of his wild theories of escape – and the actor hopes to keep it that way.

“I don’t know if they’d (my theories) work at all. I’m not sure what I want to do with the gator. With the grizzly bear I’ve got a better idea… I hope it doesn’t happen,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying. (ANI)
