Beijing, May 11 (IANS) Twenty Vietnamese women, who married Chinese men in Jiangxi province last month, have disappeared in a single day, police said.

All the 20 brides disappeared from Lichuan county in the province on the same day, Global Times reported Tuesday.

The actress denied any “knowledge” of a sex tape and her rep Stacie Vanchieri said it was “clearly not her.”

“I”ve seen the tape. Anyone who has met her once would know it”s not her. The woman has a different body, hands, face, everything,” the New York Daily News quoted Vanchieri as telling E!. (ANI)

Brit Mayor accused of breaking into women’s homes, wearing their undies

London, Aug 25 (ANI): A Brit Mayor, accused of breaking into women’s homes and wearing their undies, has resigned from his post.

Bachelor Ian Stafford, 58, who had been elected Mayor of Preesall and Knott End, Lancs, four years ago, resigned as a councillor immediately after his arrest on August 24, with charges of three counts of burglary.

This came to light after women reported to the police that their bras and knickers had vanished.

When cops examined footage from a camera a worried woman had secretly installed in her bedroom, they saw a semi-naked man going through the her drawers, and then putting on her knickers before performing a sex act.

“This will come as a surprise to anyone who knows him,” the Sun quoted Jill Marr, 63, who worked with him as a Mayoress, as saying.

“I always thought of him as a very quiet man who was a regular church-goer and very popular in the village.

“He was always extremely courteous and polite to me,” she said.

Her husband, town clerk Lionel Marr, said that Stafford sounded “upset”, as he offered his resignation.

Police said that part-time handyman and gardener Stafford, of Preesall, would appear in court next month. (ANI)

According to the source, it’s the couple’s PR machine which is keeping them together.

“Ange and her manager Geyer Kosinski carefully control her image,” explains the source.

“When Brad dumped Jen, to stop Ange looking like the scarlet woman she was flown to Pakistan and pictured helping refugees.

Spielberg ready to recreate invisible rabbit “Harvey” with new funding from India

Nevada (US), Aug.20 (ANI): With new funding from India, Oscar winner Steven Spielberg is ready to move ahead with production and we all shall be able to see six-plus foot invisible rabbit “Harvey” in the near future.

Indo-American Rajan Zed says they were glad to see the legendary director back in filmmaking. Spielberg has not reportedly produced after Transformers since separating from Paramount Pictures. Deal with India’s Reliance on Monday breathed life back into Spielberg’s dormant DreamWorks Studios and he can now start directing “Harvey”.

Spielberg’s directorial project “Harvey” is remake of Oscar winner James Stewart (The Philadelphia Story) starring 1950 film based on Mary Chase Pulitzer Prize-winning play, about amiable and eccentric bachelor Elwood P. Dowd and his friendship with imaginary Harvey. Oscar nominated Henry Koster (The Bishop’s Wife) directed the 1950 Harvey, which won an Oscar and a Golden Globe.

It is reportedly a co-venture between the new DreamWorks, Disney and 20th Century Fox. Spielberg and Don Gregory (Fire in the Dark) will be the producers. While casting and pre-production is expected to begin immediately, the production will begin in early 2010.

As Oscar winner Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump) has reportedly said no to the role of the polite Dowd, Spielberg will be looking for another likable top-notch leading actor who can convincingly talk to the invisible rabbit. (ANI)

Saint Xavier’s college denies promotion to Dhoni

Ranchi, July 11 (ANI): Mahendra Singh Dhoni might be going great guns on and off the field but that’s no valid reason that he should do well in academics, as Saint Xavier’s college in Ranchi has denied promotion to the cricket captain following his failure to appear in the Bachelor of Commerce part-1 examination.

Ranchi University, to which the college is affiliated, went out of the way relaxing attendance rules last year to enable Dhoni to resume his education after a nine year hiatus.

“He (Dhoni) does not fall into the regular system of education. He comes under the certified system or the assignment system. He can submit his assignments and clear his subjects accordingly,” said Gautam Rudra, a Commerce professor.

But Dhoni has plenty of well-wishers among his classmates, only if their voice would be heard.

“According to me Dhoni should atleast attend the classes, but in case he can’t attend the classes he should be promoted because he is playing for the country and he is making our country proud. So I guess and I think so that he should be promoted to the second year,” said Rohan Pathak. (ANI)

Meet the male cockerel whose insatiable sex drive killed its exhausted mate!

London, July 9 (ANI): A cockerel named Elvis has come to be known as a “ladykiller” after his hen’s death from exhaustion, which believably was a result of her inability to keep up with her mate’s sexual appetite.

The cockerel, who used to have four hens vying for his attention, was left with only Berol to keep his libido satisfied after three of the lot died.

According to reports, Berol had to be put to sleep after becoming exhausted by Elvis’s constant demands.

One-year-old Elvis’ owner Katherine Cooke, who works as a nurse at Buckley House veterinary surgery in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, is now searching for a new home and hen harem for the cockerel.

“Elvis is a young, fit cockerel and he wants what all cockerels want, a new harem – a new group of ladies,” the Telegraph quoted Katherine, 32, as saying.

“He very handsome and is a stereotypical cockerel like the one off the Kellogg’s boxes. He is quite the bachelor.

“He has had a troubled life. He used to live with four lady friends but unfortunately rats got in to their coop one night and there was a mass murder and three of them died. Berol was certainly then the centre of his attention,” she added.

She presently keeps Elvis in a coop at a horse’s stables in nearby Ravenshead.

“Elvis is very, very noisy. I want to try and find a new home but it’s quite difficult because I don’t want him to get an Asbo,” she said. (ANI)

Warren Beatty was like ‘lazy leopard ready to pounce’, says new book

New York, Jul 8 (ANI): American actor Warren Beatty has been compared to a lazy leopard ready to pounce on his prey by 1960s model Leon Bing in her memoir, ‘Swans and Pistols’.

Bing, who also said that Beatty in his bachelor days could be blunt when he wanted to score, recalled a moment when he approached her at a party as Jack Nicholson and Michelle Phillips chatted with his long-time girlfriend, Julie Christie.

“If I wasn’t here with someone, we’d be in the upstairs bathroom right now with the door locked and your panties down,” the New York Post quoted Bing as recalling him as saying.

“He was like a leopard stretched out along a low-lying tree limb, lazily ready to reach down for anything that took his fancy,” she added.

The book will be out in November. (ANI)

Arizona University guests to brave scorching sun for Obama’s speech

Washington, May 8 (ANI): President Obama will address the Arizona State University’s commencement on a day when temperature will hit 98 degrees. People who want to see Obama speak are likely to bake in sun for hours.

Around 65,000 people are expected to attend Obama’s address, and they are being told to come at least four hours in advance to clear security checks. Many are complaining.

Sharon Erickson, the mother of a graduate student receiving her masters’ degree on Wednesday, said she’s appalled.

“I’m an upset mother. People are very upset about this. There is no shade in the football stadium where the ceremonies will be held,” Foxnews.com quoted Erickson, as saying.

Erickson added that her daughter is the first to earn a post-graduate degree in the family but that her 81-year-old grandfather won’t be able to attend because he can’t sit in the heat for that long.

The university is telling guests and graduates to begin arriving in groups starting at 3 p.m. local time that day. Bachelor’s graduates are supposed to arrive first, followed by master’s graduates at 3:30 p.m. Doctorate recipients are told to arrive a half-hour later, followed by all other guests at 4:30 p.m. Obama doesn’t speak until 7 p.m.

But university spokeswoman Terri Shafer said there’s nothing Arizona State can do.

“If we don’t do it that way, people will be jammed up at the gates. In an ideal world, we’d love to bring them in as late as possible. It’s just not physically possible,” Shafer said while adding that doors open four hours early to make sure that everyone can clear the metal detectors in time for Obama’s address.

She said the university would be providing water, as well as entertainment, for those stuck in the stadium for hours.

The university previously held graduation ceremonies in the indoor Wells Fargo Arena. Shafer said the university eventually was planning to move out of that arena because the crowds were getting too big, and that Obama’s arrival was an “incentive” to do so. (ANI)

Lampard’s ex-lover brands him a “bastard”

London, Apr.24 (ANI): England and Chelsea mid-fielder Frank Lampard’s jilted Spanish lover Elen Rives has branded him a “bastard” for his cold hearted attitude to her now that they have split.

She said: “I’m not coping. I’m 34 and old now, what am I supposed to do? It’s too late for me.”

Frank, 30, and Elen, who were together for seven years and have two children, split in November, calling the decision “very amicable”.

But Elen has since told friends she wants the relationship back on – something Frank is not considering as he has been linked to millionaire’s daughter Saskia Boxford, 23.

A pal said: “She’s devastated. She loved Frank more than anything and with each month that passes wants him back more.

“She sees him with other women and it tears her apart.”

Elen broke her silence about the split on a rare night out earlier this week.

She branded the Chelsea midfielder “heartless” for seeing other girls.

“I text him to tell him I’m not coping but he doesn’t care. I cry to him on the phone but I get nothing from him. No emotion, just blank. He’s a bastard,” the Daily Star quoted her, as saying.

She also told how unhappy she was to be in a small flat with daughters Luna, two, and Isla, one, while claiming he had turned their old #8.5million home into a “bachelor pad”.

The friend added: “She will get a bigger flat for her and the girls but at the moment is waiting. It makes the split harder.”

Elen also said she was struggling to move on with her life, comparing herself unfavourably to Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen.

She said: “I’m not like Coleen who is 23 with a great career, so I don’t know how I can move on. It’s so hard.” (ANI)

However, one of the octomum’s colleagues Sage confirmed to In Touch Weekly that she worked with Nadya at stripping contests and bachelor parties in 1999 and 2000.
