According to the survey headed by music royalties company PRS, the British singer piped Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, who came second.

Mick Jagger grabbed the third spot, followed by Eminem, while wrapping up the top five was Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, reports Contactmusic.

Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole came next on the list and Leona Lewis bagged the third position with Madonna and Lady Gaga winning fourth and fifth spots respectively. (ANI)

Kimberley Walsh scared of camping after climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro

Washington, Aug 25 (ANI): ‘Girls Aloud’ star Kimberley Walsh is scared of camping after her charity expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro.

The trip to the African mountain along with bandmate Cheryl Cole and ‘Take That’ star Gary Barlow and several other celebs has left her so exhausted that she has even cut short her tour to V Festival in Chelmsford because she couldn’t face another night under canvas.

“It’s nice, we can just chill out in the sun. We’re just here for the day. After the whole Kilimanjaro thing, camping’s a no-no in my mind. There was just no way I could do it,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Absolute Radio.

Kimberley is keen to get back to work but admits she loves the time off to spend with her loved ones.

“We’re pretty busy. We’ve given ourselves a few months off now, for the first time really in like six or seven years.

“So we’re really enjoying just having a bit of time to chill and do holidays with the girls, boyfriends and family and it’s been nice,” she added. (ANI)

‘Megan Fox knows how to garner hot publicity,’ say Hollywood execs

London, July 13 (ANI): Sexy Megan Fox knows how to garner publicity that is likely to benefit her film and enhance her image, claim Hollywood execs.

“Megan obviously doesn’t need a PR team. She cleverly creates a hot media circus for herself wherever she goes,” the Daily Star quoted a Tinseltown studio executive as saying.

The 23-year-old actress has admitted fancying major stars in every country she has visited to promote her new film.

At the London premiere of her new film ‘Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen’, Fox said that she fancied David Beckham, and added that she had the hots for ‘Girls Aloud’ star Cheryl Cole.

On her visit to France, she branded 34-year-old national heartthrob Vincent Lecoeur “the sexiest man in Europe”, and said that she would love to get up and close with him.

In Berlin, she praised the “smouldering good looks” of German superstar Christoph M. Ohrt, 49, whom she has never met.

And in Seoul, South Korea, Fox admitted to having a huge crush on actor and singer Rain, 27.

In Tokyo, she said that she was “dying to meet” movie star and singer/songwriter Teppei Koike, 23, who was last year named Newcomer of the Year by the Japanese Film Academy.

“She’s a real street-smart player who shoots from the lip every time she sees an opportunity to generate some hot publicity that’s going to benefit the film, raise her profile and enhance her image,” said another Hollywood executive. (ANI)

The Irish singer reportedly likes to spend much of her time in Los Angeles where she owns a restaurant and a number of properties.

Coyle is also expected to begin her solo career after she splits from the band.

‘Americans can’t understand Cheryl Cole’s Geordian accent’

London, July 10 (ANI): Cheryl Cole’s alleged plans to appear on US version of talent show X-Factor may suffer a setback due to her thick Geordian accent which Americans seem to fail to understand.

TV mogul Simon Cowell is reportedly keen on the singer to front the show but American TV bosses are worried about her strong accent.

In fact, NBC executives flew to Manchester to watch the Newcastle-born in action at the live auditions.

They were reportedly satisfied with everything except the harder edges of her North East tones.

“They were bowled over by Cheryl and thought she was sassy, smart, charismatic and beautiful. There was just one small problem – they couldn’t make head nor tail of her Geordie accent,” The Mirror quoted a source as saying.

The source said: “She was at her best at the weekend – witty, empathetic and really encouraging to some of the acts.

“But while her accent isn’t that thick, the Americans really seemed to struggle with it.”

There is also news that the Girls Aloud singer might take elocution lessons to solve the problem.

The source added: “Simon jokingly offered to pay for elocution lessons for her but, seriously, that may be the route she has to take if she is really considering breaking into television over there.”

TV chiefs have also taken copies of last year’s show back to America to test if audiences in US understand Cheryl talk. (ANI)

Jordan, Peter Andre’s split upsets Sarah Harding

London, July 6 (ANI): Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding has described Katie Price a.k.a Jordan and Peter Andre’s spilt as ‘sad’.

Harding, who is close friends with the couple, said she had initially hoped the couple would get back together, but now admits it is a hopeless case.

“It’s so sad. I really hoped it wasn’t permanent and wanted to get them back together. They have both been good friends to me in the past,” the Mirror quoted Harding as saying.

Harding has been close to the couple since 2004 when they helped her over a painful break-up. She was also a bridesmaid at their fairytale wedding in 2005.

“I had a really hard time when I split up with Mikey Green and I’ll never forget everything they did for me. Whenever I was feeling low they’d invite me around to stay in their house to have a break from it all,” she said.Pete would put the kettle on and Katie would order in some Chinese and we’d chat all night.

“They have both been good friends to me so I’m not going to be drawn into Team Katie or Team Pete thing.

“Whatever happened was between them. I’ve been in touch with them and said I’m here for both of them. But it doesn’t look like they will get back together now, which is a shame,” she added. (ANI)

Minogue presents robot vacuum cleaner to Cole as peace offering

London, Jul 6 (ANI): Aussie singer Dannii Minogue is said to have made a peace offering to ‘The X Factor’ co-judge Cheryl Cole by presenting her with a state-of-the-art robot vacuum cleaner.

Minogue, 37, gave Cole the 300 pounds Roomba Vacuum Robot at her 26th birthday bash in London’s Vanilla private club.

And the effort to end the rivalry between them seems to have worked, with sources saying that the ‘Girls Aloud’ member was “delighted” with her unusual present.

“Dannii’s gift was Cheryl’s favourite,” the Daily Star quoted a pal of the star as saying.

“She thought it was hilarious and really thoughtful.

“She hates housework and can’t get her husband Ashley to lift a finger in the house – so it showed Dannii had given a lot of thought to her gift.

“Cheryl gave Dannii a huge hug when she saw it,” the pal added.

The cleaner’s manufacturers claim that sensors guide the disk-shaped droid around any room, and that it can even adjust its own height to suck up dirt from different surfaces like rugs or tiles.

Other sources have revealed that the gift has proved that the girls have been getting along much better since their earlier stages of filming.

“Things may have been a bit frosty early on last year but they’ve got on so much better during this year’s auditions,” an X Factor insider said.

“Dannii has made a real effort to bond with Cheryl this year and it looks like it has paid off,” the insider added. (ANI)

Cheryl Cole eyeing music manager role after ‘Girls Aloud’ career

Washington, Jul 6 (ANI): ‘Girls Aloud’ member Cheryl Cole is reportedly set to take up the role of a music manager, once her career with the band ends.

Cole, 26, a co-judge on British TV talent show ‘The X Factor’, thinks that women make the best managers.

“I have what it takes to make it as a manager and will give it my best shot,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“I think there is a lack of good female management in the industry. Since Girls Aloud have been managed by a woman, we have gone from strength to strength,” she added. (ANI)

Cheryl Cole ‘dishes out #100k annually on her looks!’

Washington, June 24 (ANI): Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole reportedly dishes out over 100,000 pounds annually to maintain her perfect looks.

She has been spending 100,000 pounds annually on beauty treatments, stylists and dieticians, say reports.

“Cheryl is the most ambitious person I know. She spends a lot of money looking her best, but it’s not about vanity, it’s about achieving as much as she can,” Contactmusic quoted a source as saying.

“She sees it as an investment – something she needs to perfect to do well in her career,” the source added.

If sources are to be believed, Cole has hired personal stylist for 30,000 pounds.

She also spends 9,000 pound-a-year on hair, 12,000 pounds on a private dietician, 14,000 pounds on personal training sessions, 5,000 pounds on treatments and 36,000 pounds on a fat-burning machine.

The source added to Britain’s Closer magazine: “Cheryl knows she lives an incredibly privileged life, yet sometimes things can get on top of her.

“She’s worried about looking anything other than perfect. She knows it’s hard to understand her or the huge pressure she’s under.” (ANI)

Kylie Minogue ‘ropes in Girls Aloud songwriters for comeback’

London, June 23 (ANI): Kylie Minogue has reportedly roped in songwriters behind the success of Girls Aloud for her big comeback.

The Aussie singer was said to have asked hit-making duo Xenomania, who helped the all girls band score 20 consecutive Top Ten singles, to pen smashes for her next album.

“Kylie has been a huge fan of Xenomania for ages,” The Sun quoted a source as saying.

“With the girls off pursuing solo plans before their next album, she feels the time is right to work with the team who provided them with such staggering success,” the source added.

Xenomania, producers Brian Higgins and Miranda Cooper, previously teamed up with Kylie on her 2005 single Giving You Up, which grabbed the No 6 spot in the charts.

The source added: “Kylie wants to come back with a bang. Her last album, X, sold quite well but it wasn’t the triumphant return to form many people hoped for.

“By working with Xenomania she hopes she can create a really coherent album which will connect her right back to the pop market.” (ANI)

Alesha Dixon set to become ‘Stricty Come Dancing’ judge

London, June 19 (ANI): Former ‘Stricty Come Dancing’ winner Alesha Dixon is reportedly all set to replace Arlene Phillips as a judge on the show to lure young audience.

Apparently, the show’s bosses are squeezing out Philips from the show, but the BBC has refused to confirm reports that it has ended its contract with the 66-year-old choreographer.

However, insiders have said that the bosses feel that 30-year-old Dixon is the right person to boost the show’s appeal to younger viewers.

Alesha, the pop star and former model, was dubbed the “British Beyonce” by 81-year-old host Bruce Forsyth

And sources are hoping that she can help the BBC win ratings from rival ITV show ‘The X Factor’, where Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole is a judge.

“There is always speculation. Two months ago they were reporting that I was going to take over from Brucie. But once you are part of Strictly Come Dancing you are part of the family and I do feel that about the show,” the Daily Express quoted Alesha as saying.

While a BBC spokeswoman said that reports about the singer taking over from Phillips were “purely speculation”, she did not deny the claims outright.

She said: “We can’t confirm anything about the new series of Strictly yet, but we are always looking at ways to maximise viewers’ enjoyment of our shows.”

Phillips, on the other hand, declined to comment on her future with the show.

Meanwhile, fellow judges Craig Revel Horwood, 44, Bruno Tonioli, 53, and Len Goodman, 65, might stick with the show’s next series launches in September. (ANI)

Cheryl Cole could turn matchmaker

Washington, May 30 (ANI): Cheryl Cole may present a new series of hit British matchmaking show ‘Blind Date’.

The Girls Aloud beauty is being lined up to play the show’s host and follow in the footsteps of Cilla Black, reports Contactmusic.

A source said: “Cheryl would be an ideal host – she’s young and sassy and both men and women love her. Her own love life’s been a bit up and down, but hopefully she can play cupid for the show’s contestants.”

Cheryl’s huge success on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ has inundated her with loads of offers, including some from the US.

Her fellow judge Simon Cowell is keen to help the 25-year-old singer achieve worldwide fame.

He previously said: “I would say she’s a star, and she’ll work as well in America as she does here. She’s definitely got a shot.” (ANI)

Sarah Harding gets career boost from Gere, Prince, Gibson’s talent agency

London, May 9 (ANI): Girls Aloud member Sarah Harding’s solo career is said to be getting a boost from Richard Gere, Prince, Sylvester Stallone, Denzel Washington and Mel Gibson’s talent agency.

Harding, 27, who is keen to pursue her acting ambitions, has already landed a part in BBC2 drama Freefall, which will be aired next month, and now that the William Morris Agency has shown interest in her, she has better chances of making it.

“Talent bosses at WMA New York have been keeping a close eye on Sarah recently and are interested in chatting to her once the band’s current tour finishes,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“They have seen her and Dominic Cooper in Freefall and think she has something special. Dominic has also praised Sarah’s acting talent to friends in New York who also have close links with WMA there.

“They are keen to chat about possible theatre work too,” the source added.

The William Morris Agency is one of the oldest and most powerful brands in the global entertainment business, having been founded in 1898. (ANI)

Has Dannii Minogue decided to quit ‘X Factor’ over feuds?

London, May 6 (ANI): It looks like Aussie singer Dannii Minogue has decided to quit as a co-judge on the ‘X Factor’ show.

Minogue, 37, who feels unsure after the feuds with Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, has not signed her contract for the third series, even though first round auditions started two weeks ago.

And being compared to Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole, who is one of the judges, has not been easy for her.

“It was tough for Dannii last year and she got a lot of negative press. A person can only take so much before asking, ‘Is it really worth it?’,” the Sun quoted a pal as saying.

“Dannii felt bullied by Sharon during her first series and that was tough, so she was looking forward to Cheryl joining the team last year.

“But that became a nightmare too when the rumour mill went into overdrive with stories about the two of them competing against each other for Simon Cowell’s attention.

“Simon is being patient so far, but she can’t leave it too much longer,” the pal added.

Minogue is still discussing her options with rugby boyfriend Kris Smith, and is expected to deliver her decision to X Factor producer Richard Holloway next week, ahead of the first set of auditions in front of the celebrity judges on June 8. (ANI)

Rowling’s mosaic made from 48,000 Lego bricks unveiled

London, May 5 (ANI): Harry Potter author JK Rowling’s mosaic has been constructed from 48,000 Lego bricks.
The giant tribute was built after the novelist came top of a poll to find the “ultimate hero” of the last ten years.

The portrait, which composed of white, yellow and grey bricks, is so tall that visitors to Legoland Windsor theme park in Berkshire had to use a ladder to add extra pieces.

Rowling lead the vote with more than a third (37.4 per cent) of responses, followed by High School Musical star Zac Efron in second place with 27.3 per cent, reports The Telegraph.

US President Barack Obama was voted the third greatest hero, receiving 11.8 per cent in the poll of 700 young people under the age of 14.

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole and football superstar David Beckham made it into fourth and fifth place with an overall 6.7 per cent and 4.4 per cent respectively.

Actor Daniel Radcliffe was in the top 10 at number eight on the list.

Vicky Brown, general manager of Legoland Windsor, said: “We are thrilled that JK Rowling topped this poll as her books have been a great inspiration to children of all ages.

“At Legoland, we actively encourage imagination and creativity and believe in making the children the heroes – just as Rowling does in her stories.”

The top 10 heroes in the Legoland Windsor poll:

1. JK Rowling – 37.4 percent

2. Zac Efron – 27.3 percent

3. Barack Obama – 11.8 percent

Ashley Cole ‘gifts wife Cheryl Cole posh studio’

London, May 4 (ANI): Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole has reportedly gifted his Girls Aloud singer-wife Cheryl Cole a professional recording studio.

The England defender allegedly shelled tens of thousands to set up the recording room and engineering suite at their mansion in Surrey.

“It shows that Cheryl and Ashley are still putting roots down together,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“It also shows she is looking toward a long career in music after the TV work has dried up because a studio like that requires a big commitment.
“Most people have little project studios at home based around a computer and a keyboard. We’re not talking a little home studio – this is a proper professional facility that will need a proper sound engineer,” the source added. (ANI)
