French prostitutes had the time of their lives under Nazi occupation

London, Apr 12 (ANI): The French life under Nazis was not all resistance, hardship and suffering, suggests a book, which describes the Nazi occupation as the “golden age” of the French brothel.

The tome, 1940-1945, Erotic Years, is a hefty volume written by Patrick Buisson, The Times reports.

Before the war, brothels in France were on the verge of closure. But as the abolitionist league gained force, the so-called maisons enjoyed a dramatic revival thanks to German soldiers who poured into France.

Some maisons were exclusively reserved for officers, whose good looks and gallantry won them admirers in a country whose natives were rather less charming with prostitutes.

“I’m almost ashamed to say it,” Fabienne Jamet, a madame at one of the top addresses, is quoted as saying, referring to debauched, champagne-drenched soirées, “but I’ve never had so much fun in my life. Those nights of the occupation were fantastic.”

It is estimated that 200,000 children were born to Franco-German couples during the war.
“That the departure of the Germans caused thousands of women deep affliction . . . is one of those facts that political necessity commands us to ignore,” writes Buisson, director of France’s History Channel and a presidential adviser.

Members of the artistic and literary elite were “particularly sensitive to the seductiveness of the enemy”, the author says.

“In less than an hour,” writes Buisson, “a girl who sells her charms to the occupier can earn up to three times the daily allowance that was given to the wives of French prisoners of war in 1941.” (ANI)

Famed ‘Love Guru’ of Patna heralds his election manifesto

Patna, Apr 10 (ANI): Matuk Nath Chaudhary, a Hindi lecturer of Patna University in Bihar, reportedly under suspension, deviated from his romantic pursuits to float a forum of his favourite choice named ‘Prem Party’.

Thus Chaudhary and his admirers have resolved to make forays into the arena of politics by contesting in the electoral battle to the Lok Sabha.

And aptly, Chaudhary who carved out an unerasable name for himself as ‘Love Guru’ for his romantic episodes with Julie one of his students two years ago released the party’s election manifesto.

Incidentally, Prem Party’s nominee will contest the parliamentary elections from Patna Saheb constituency, but as an independent candidate.

“Today in political parties, if one doesn’t move ahead then he either quits the party or indulges in criminal acts to fulfill his wishes. Such kinds of selfishness, corruption and hatred are present in today’s politics. I am against such politics and hence I have launched this ‘Prem Party’ in cause of the society and live upto the expectations,” said Chaudhary.

Though Chaudhary has formed ‘Prem Party’, which is yet to be recognized by the Election Commission of India, he will contest Lok Sabha elections independently.

His manifesto also pledges new ‘love parks’ where couples can woo and coo alongwith one’s heartthrob under the tree shade.

Chaudhary is hopeful that he would attract the maximum number votes of youngsters with the belief he has a sea of admirers, particularly among the younger generation and other romantically inclined persons.

“The main thing is for one to progress but the youth is going astray on the issues of love. Parties focussing on development are good but not the ones which play politics on the issue of love which the youth needs to understand,” said Rupesh Kumar, a student and an activist of Prem Party.

Chaudhary will have to fight the polls against certain bigwigs from the tinsel world like Shatrughan Sinha representing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shekhar Suman, who is contesting as a candidate of Congress party from the Patna Saheb constituency.

With a wink and twinkle in his eyes, Chaudhary will have to convince his voters that he is in no way immoral since his opponents are from Bollywood equally famous for ‘casting couch’ episodes as good or worse as his affairs with Julie. y Ajay Kumar (ANI)

“The sex references are just too much for a PG film,” a source said. (ANI)

Jeffrey Archer takes swipe at Sir Edmund Hillary

Wellington, Mar 15 (ANI): Author and ex-UK politician Jeffrey Archer has poked fun at Sir Edmund Hillary’s legacy with the novel ‘Paths of Glory’.

The book is a fictionalized account of the life of George Mallory, who died on Everest in 1924, 29 years before Hillary climbed the world’s tallest peak with Nepali Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, reports The NZPA.

Mallory was last spotted a few hundred metres below the summit and died shortly afterwards. Many of his admirers think he made it to the top and deserves Hillary’s spot in history.

His new tome, which concludes with Mallory becoming the “first man to stand on top of the earth”, has once again sparked rumors about whether the adventurer might have beaten Sir Ed to the summit by 29 years.

However, fellow mountaineer and friend of Sir Ed, Graeme Dingle, said of Archer’s premise: “He’s dreaming. There’s essentially no chance Mallory got to the top. All the evidence points to them not making it.”

He said Archer’s interest in portraying Mallory as the first to summit the mountain was motivated by wounded English pride at having been beaten by a colonial.

“The English were desperate to get to the top and they didn’t get there, even in 1953. I think the English are pretty sensitive about it. They’ve got nothing to be ashamed about, they had a lot of glorious failures,” he added.

In 2001, Archer’s political career ended in disgrace in Britain after he was found guilty of perjury and sentenced to four years in jail. (ANI)
