Filipino Prison Inmates Stage Thriller Tribute Video – Tribute to Michael Jackson
A group of 1500 Filipino Prison inmates put on their dancing shoes once again for a repeat performance of their 2007 Thriller dance. This time around, the men from Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center practiced for 9 hours beginning Friday night, stopping only to eat and get out of the rain as a tribute to Michael Jackson, who died on Thursday, June 25, 2009.
They performed in orange prison uniforms before a crowd of 700 Cebuanos and tourists. Their original performance, posted two years ago, attracted 24.3 million hits. A million of those came within 24 hours after word of Michael Jackson’s death spread around the globe.
